The Middle East is not merely changing—it is melting down before our eyes. Iran, battered but not broken by months of American and Israeli attacks, is now reaching for the most powerful weapon it possesses: the ability to choke the flow of oil upon which the global economy depends. Tehran is squeezing the Strait of Hormuz while its Houthi proxies tighten their grip around the Bab el-Mandeb, placing Saudi Arabia between two strategic chokepoints. This is not random retaliation; it is a calculated economic siege designed to make the entire world pay for Washington’s war. Trump’s war with Iran is actually, ironically and paradoxically, making Tehran stronger.
Saudi Arabia believed its East-West pipeline offered protection by allowing its oil to bypass Hormuz and reach the Red Sea. Then Houthi drones struck that pipeline while Houthi fighters seized Perim Island in the middle of the Bab el-Mandeb. Iran’s message could not be clearer: there may be no safe passage, no protected oil route and no corner of the region beyond its reach. The kingdom that once stood as the undisputed giant of global oil exports is now watching its refineries, pipelines, cities and shipping lanes come under attack as crude prices surge and the danger spreads far beyond the battlefield. Every missile launched in Arabia can eventually explode at an American gas pump, grocery store and household budget. Fun fact, the average price of gas here in America is right now $4.31 for regular and $6.23 for diesel. Is that the Golden Age you were expecting, the Golden Age you voted for? But I digress.
President Trump launched this war promising to obliterate Iran’s nuclear program, prevent Tehran from attacking its neighbors and create the conditions for regime change. Instead, Iran has survived, Saudi Arabia has become a primary target, the Houthis are capturing strategic territory, and two of the world’s most important shipping lanes are being dragged toward paralysis. Washington may possess the larger military, but Iran is attempting to seize the greater leverage by placing its hand around the throat of the world economy. The Abraham Accords promised a new Middle Eastern order built upon peace and prosperity; what is emerging instead is war, scarcity, collapsing alliances and desperate nations searching for someone capable of imposing peace.

Illinois Assisted Suicide Law Takes Effect
By Decision Magazine/Press: Barring a last-minute court-ordered injunction, Illinois’ physician-assisted suicide law is scheduled to take effect Saturday subjecting patients with terminal illnesses, depression, and disabilities to significant risks of premature death, warn pro-life advocates in the state.
“As of Saturday, our state will cross a line that few states in our nation have dared to cross,” said Mary Kate Zander, president of Illinois Right to Life (IRL). “Suicide through use of a prescribed medication will become a legally facilitated option in Illinois – but these deaths won’t be recorded as suicides. Illinoisans deserve transparency about the consequences of a law that will affect some of the most vulnerable people in our state.”
“September 12th is not the end of our response to physician-assisted suicide. It marks the beginning of a new responsibility,” Zander continued. “We intend to make sure Illinois families understand this law, recognize its dangers, and know that there are better options available to them.”
Under the new law, eligible adults diagnosed with a terminal disease that is projected to result in death within six months may obtain medication with the intent to end their lives. When a patient dies after taking the medication, however, death is attributed to the underlying terminal disease rather than suicide, and the use of the medication is legally barred from being indicated on the death certificate.
