He had company. In the days around the anniversary, the top Democrat in the House called for a Palestinian state, a European lawmaker threw an Israeli flag to the floor at a memorial for the victims, the BBC opened its anniversary coverage with a genocide charge, and CNN published a report blaming Israel for the deaths of hostages Hamas had kidnapped.
“This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers,” New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani wrote. “It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. By Pamela Geller: There has been a series of alarming acts of violence that has to add a level of concern to average Minnesotans. Authorities are now watching a retaliation cycle. Among the shootings was a shootout at Eden Prairie’s homecoming game: Law enforcement authorities in Eden Prairie said Saturday that a shooting that injured two people during Friday’s homecoming football game was gang-related. In a statement posted on social media, the Eden Prairie Police Department said that though the investigation continues, police believe it involved gangs. Eden Prairie police said there was a large altercation west of the school’s Aerie Stadium before the shooting…. Police said earlier that the two people injured in the shooting were believed to have been targeted. On Saturday, officials did not release their names but said they are an 18-year-old male and a 17-year old male from St. Paul and are both of Somali descent. The 18-year old was discharged from Hennepin Healthcare on Saturday, and the 17-year-old remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries (Star Tribune).
