Americans Advised To Unquestioningly Follow Government Conclusions

Kurt Nimmo, Infowars.com — The incessant propaganda campaign waged by Democrats and the Obama administration characterizing an unprecedented wave of illegal immigrants entering the U.S. as refugees fleeing from violence has shaped public perception of the crisis.

Just over a quarter of respondents to a Public Religion Research Institute survey believe underage immigrants are entering the country illegally, while nearly 70 percent say the federal government should treat the children as refugees and not illegal immigrants.

“Of those polled, 56 percent said the families of children coming from Central America were acting to keep the young people safe from violence in their home countries. Some 38 percent of those polled said the families were ‘taking advantage of American good will’ and trying to stay illegally in the United States,” The New York Times reports.

A law enforcement intelligence report, however, disputes the claim about Central American violence pushed by the government. Instead, according to a report received by KRGV, the influx is the direct result of people in Central America being told they will be provided with permits and be allowed to stay in the United States and “reunite with their families and better themselves financially.”

The report also states violence in Central America is in decline. According to an elite, law-enforcement sensitive El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC) intel report from July 7, 2014:

In late May, the U.S. Border Patrol interviewed unaccompanied children (UAC) and migrant families apprehended in the Rio Grande Valley. Of the 230 total migrants interviewed, 219 cited the primary reason for migrating to the United States was the perception of U.S. immigration laws granting free passes or permisos to UAC and adult female OTMs traveling with minors. Migrants indicated that knowledge of permisos was widespread across Central America due to word of mouth, local, and international media messaging—prompting many to depart for the United States within 30 days of becoming aware of these perceived benefits, according to the same reporting.

The establishment media has not reported on the EPIC findings and other information indicating the flood of illegal immigrants has little to do with violence. Because of this many Americans are left with a distorted and less than factual view of what is happening along the border in Texas and elsewhere in the Southwest.

The poll results would likely be different if Americans knew about the disproportionate use of welfare and other redistributive programs used by immigrants.

Unlimited immigration is impossible in a welfare state.

In 2009, according to research conducted by the Center for Immigration Studies, “57 percent of households headed by an immigrant (legal and illegal) with children (under 18) used at least one welfare program, compared to 39 percent for native households with children.” The rates for this tax payer funded assistance is the highest in states along the border – Arizona, Texas, and California. The largest percentage of welfare recipients are from Dominican Republic (82 percent), Mexico and Guatemala (75 percent), and Ecuador (70 percent).

The latest influx of poverty-stricken and uneducated illegal immigrants will undoubtedly strain and eventually bankrupt welfare programs. “Welfare use tends to be high for both new arrivals and established residents. In 2009, 60 percent of households with children headed by an immigrant who arrived in 2000 or later used at least one welfare program; for households headed by immigrants who arrived before 2000 it was 55 percent.”

“Already in this country, over the past five years, we’ve seen unprecedented increases in people/families on food stamps (SNAP program) now approaching 50 million; 10 million + now on disability and a stunning 92 million Americans are NOT working at all. Who in their right mind actually believes we can absorb tens of thousands of aliens without collapsing an already fragile economy?” writes Mike Hendren.

Despite the obvious detrimental impact of millions of unskilled and under-educated immigrants and their dependent children on the economy, the establishment continues to argue the influx is good for America.

For instance The Hill, a newspaper and website written for and about Congress, argues “information derived from reputable, nonpartisan sources” including the NGO think tank Pew Research Center, the USDA and the U.S. Department of Labor, should only be considered when considering the illegal immigration issue. Despite evidence to the contrary, The Hill states the “truth of the matter is that illegal immigrants are important to the U.S. economy.”

The Hill instructs Americans to unquestioningly follow the conclusions of establishment economists and discount the views of “radio show hosts” and others not working for the government.

Christopher Agee Despite the left’s partisan rhetoric, most Americans realize our welfare state is rife with fraudulent recipients who simply choose to live as wards of the state rather than seek gainful employment. A program designed as emergency assistance for those unable to provide for themselves has morphed into a bloated bureaucracy that largely benefits the lazy, not the needy.

While it is one thing to understand that such fraud exists, it is exponentially more frustrating to hear one such recipient brag about the ongoing scam to the very taxpayers responsible for funding her indolence.

One such example of this occurred during a radio segment on the Austin, Texas station KLBJ. A 32-year-old caller, Lucy, called in to respond to criticism of her government-dependent lifestyle.

“Can you really blame us?” she asked. “I mean, I get to sit home. I get to visit my friends every day. I even get to smoke weed.”

Lucy went on to detail the litany of benefits she receives each month, proudly proclaiming she has no intention of ever looking for work.

“We still gonna get paid,” she explained. “Our checks are gonna come in the mail every month and they’re gonna be on time. We get subsidized housing. We even get presents delivered for our kids for Christmas. Why should I work?”

The married mother of three also indicated that her husband only works “every now and then, part-time,” adding that “he doesn’t see the need for it.”

Adding further insult to the hardworking Americans being fleeced by the federal government to support her, Lucy declared that those who actually have a job only do so to advance their superiority complex.

“That’s the price he pays for being able to say, ‘Look at me, I’m a good person,’ she said, repeating a common theme of her call.

Though Lucy admitted she didn’t know exactly how much money she receives from the government, she detailed some of the monthly benefits: $550 for rent, $450 in food stamps, $150 towards her electric bill, and $100 for water service.

“Are you talking on an Obamaphone as well?” one host inquired.

“Yeah,” Lucy responded, “I got an Obamaphone.”

Advancing the selfish logic to which many in her situation subscribe, the caller compared welfare to some sort of government-sponsored jackpot.

“If somebody offered you a million dollars, would you walk away from it?” she asked.

THE WELFARE STATES OF AMERICA: GOVERNMENT FOOD AID RECIPIENTS NOW OUTNUMBER FULL-TIME PRIVATE SECTOR WORKERS

It Is Now More Lucrative To Sit, Do Nothing, And Collect Various Welfare Entitlements, Than To Work

Huff, Natural News — For the first time in history, the number of people in the United States receiving assistance from the federal government to pay for food has exceeded the number of full-time, private sector workers, according to new data released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Based on the latest available figures, the overall number of food welfare recipients today exceeds the number of regular working folks by nearly four million, and the gap is continuing to widen.

An ominous foretelling of America's dire future, the more than 101 million people in America currently receiving government food aid represent nearly one third of the overall U.S. population. Comparatively, less than one third of the entire U.S. population, or roughly 97 million people, currently has a viable, full-time job, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), and this figure has been on the decline in recent years.

"The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates that a total of 101,000,000 people currently participate in at least one of the 15 food programs offered by the agency, at a cost of $114 billion in fiscal year 2012," explains one report on the announcement. "Of the 101 million receiving food benefits, a record 47 million Americans participated in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly known as food stamps."

What this all means, of course, is that our once great nation, built by hard-working, innovative, and creative individuals from all walks of life, has devolved into one of the worst kinds of nanny states imaginable. Sure, there are still millions of honest, industrious people that are actually producing things and contributing positively to society. But these folks are increasingly having to bear the load of the welfare crowd, the ranks of which are constantly expanding.

"As noted, John Q Public has been reduced to 'either a mouth to be fed, a pocket to be picked, or a political obstacle to be finessed, nothing more,'" writes Debra Heine for Breitbart.com about this unraveling of American society.

Many welfare recipients now have higher 'incomes' than the actual workers subsidizing their handouts

And how right she is, as the average "poor" household on government assistance today now receives about $168 per day from taxpayers, according to a recent report by TownHall.com. These welfare payments, which cover not only food costs but also housing, childcare, and healthcare, average out to about $30 per hour for a 40 work week, which is far more than what millions of working individuals and families make per week.

"The median wage for non-welfare recipients is $25 per hour but because they pay taxes, unlike welfare recipients, the wage is bumped down to $21 per hour," writes Katie Pavlich for TownHall.com. "Taxpayers are no longer simply helping the poor, they're subsidizing the lives of welfare recipients at a better rate than their own."

In other words, the working class is now collectively forking over more of its earnings to sustain the welfare class, and much of this is being distributed in the form of food stamps and other food assistance. And if this trend continues, society will eventually reach a breaking point in which there are no longer enough actual contributors to support all the takers.

"[F]or increasingly more it is now more lucrative -- in the form of actual disposable income -- to sit, do nothing, and collect various welfare entitlements, than to work," explains ZeroHedge.com. of What the Founding Fathers Intended

Kayleigh McEnany, TheBlaze — America finally knows what President Obama meant when he said he intended to “fundamentally transform America.” He aimed to make this country unrecognizable to its Founding Fathers, and he’s done just that.

Obama has reversed the role of the federal government – instead of looking like the world’s hegemonic superpower, we look more like the world’s most innovative social welfare state to be envied by all of Western Europe.

This year defense spending will sink to its lowest levels in our nation’s history; meanwhile, entitlement spending will reach new highs.

This is part of an astounding overall trend in our federal government’s spending habits. The Heritage Foundation reports, “Defense spending has declined significantly over time, even when the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are included, as spending on the three major entitlements—Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid—has more than tripled.”

In 2012 alone, Heritage reveals an immense gap between defense and entitlement spending—defense comprised 19% of total outlays, while entitlements reached a gargantuan 62% of federal spending.

This is a complete perversion of what the Founding Fathers intended.

As former Senator James Talent wrote, providing for the common defense is the “priority job” and “the only mandatory function” of the federal government.

He wrote in the Heritage Foundation, “Article One, Section Eight of the Constitution lists 17 separate powers that are granted to Congress. Six of those powers deal exclusively with the national defense—far more than any other specific area of governance….”

Indeed, America’s early presidents and Congresses respected and stayed true to this bedrock conception of the federal government.

The Office of Management and Budget acknowledges before the 1930s, most federal spending went toward “national defense, veterans’ benefits, and interest on the public debt,” and in 1929, “71 percent of federal outlays fell into these categories.”

But, today, the opposite holds true. Our federal government devotes nearly that same amount to the welfare state even though the Constitution only makes a cursory mention of providing for the general welfare.

Taken together, our country has strayed perilously far from the America our Founding Fathers envisioned, and in doing so, we are expediting our fall from greatness.

Where is the America that toppled the Soviet Union, put the first man on the moon, and conquered the great frontier? That America is quickly becoming a distant memory.

Instead, we are striving to become a liberal Utopia, all the while ignoring that this sort of idealism precipitated the all-consuming debt and economic travails we see just across the Atlantic Ocean.

America must reject the premise that our Constitution is outdated, cliché and therefore invalid and demand that our government reflect the core principles that made us the greatest nation on earth.

It’s time to thwart Obama’s twisted plan or perhaps the foreboding words of President Ronald Reagan will one day ring true: “We’re in greater danger today than we were the day after Pearl Harbor. Our military is absolutely incapable of defending this country.” » Read More
