Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ~ 2 Timothy 2:15

King James Version (KJV Bible)
The King James Version is a translation named after King James I of England, who first commissioned the new English Bible translation in 1604 A.D. and later completed in 1611 A.D. King James 'authorized' the new translation to be read in churches in England and beyond. Later known as the 'Authorized Version' in 1814, the King James Version became a standard among English-speaking Christians.

The King James Version is considered one of the most accurate English translations in existence today. A skilled committee of 54 translators worked for 7 years to carefully complete the King James translation.

The translation is most noted for its poetic feel - prose that seems to flow with a certain rhythmic quality. The book is often cited as the most published book in world history with a significant influence on literature and culture in the last few centuries. It is estimated that more than 1 billion copies of the King James Version have been published.

The King James Version has had a few rounds of edits, mostly to keep up with changes in the English language itself. The English from the original 1611 version is noticeably different than the newer 1769 version. People who are unfamiliar with the English language in the Elizabethan and Jacobean era can easily mistake the 1611 King James Version writing style for spelling errors. The same can be said for other writings of that era as well, for example Beowulf. It is widely recognized that the King James Version has made a significant impact on the English language and it continues to leave impressions on people and culture, as one of the most published books in world history.

HUCKABEE: CHRISTIANS ‘SHOULDN’T JUST ACCEPT THINGS THAT ARE UNGODLY’ IN GOVERNMENT

‘News From An Uncompromising Biblical Worldview’

Heather Clark, Christian News Network — In a recent conference call with Vision America’s Rick Scarborough, talk show host, author and ordained minister Mike Huckabee stated that Christians need to be more active in resisting evil in the land and “shouldn’t just accept things that are ungodly.”

“I’m convinced that the problems are ultimately spiritual; the consequences are political,” he said. “Sometimes people present it as ‘If we could just get the right people elected to office, the spiritual revival will come,’ [but] I think it’s exactly the opposite. If we can pray, humble ourselves, seek God’s face, and turn from our wicked ways, I believe God will hear and he will heal our land.”

Huckabee then spoke of the consequences of our nation’s silence toward evil, such as the 57 million babies that have been murdered in the womb through abortion since Roe v. Wade.

“How do we face God with that?” he asked.

Huckabee also noted how federal judges are overturning the will of the people in regard to the institution of marriage, including in his home state of Arkansas.

“There should have been an outcry from the people of the state—a massive outcry [saying,] ‘You can’t do it,'” Huckabee opined. “I would remind people that the judicial branch is not the supreme branch, and the Supreme Court is only the Supreme Court, not the Supreme Being. And I feel that we have failed in civics to understand that there are three branches of government, and one can’t overrule the other two, and all three of them together can’t overrule the people.”

“Yet, we have people who say, ‘Well, the courts have ruled on abortion, we’ll have to live with it,’ or, ‘The courts have ruled on same-sex marriage, we have to live with it,'” he continued. “I would suggest no, we don’t. We shouldn’t just accept things that are ungodly and that will cause us to have to stand before God with bloody hands. I think that’s where we’ve failed.”

Huckabee then exhorted pastors to preach about the issues facing today’s society, and to encourage their congregations to vote the Bible.

“I would urge pastors to get in the pulpit and call people to biblical truth as it relates to the issue of life and marriage, and even the issue of stewardship, and never be apologetic and say, ‘Vote the Bible in your own heart,” he said. “I hear people say sometimes, ‘Vote your pocketbook.’ Well, if you vote the Scripture, you’ll ultimately benefit your pocketbook, because everything about the economy that’s wrong would be fixed if people had a biblical understanding of the economy and a biblical understanding of personal stewardship and responsibility.”

Pastor Matt Trewhella of Mercy Seat Christian Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin made similar statements in an op-ed published last year by Christian News Network.

“We are now seeing, in our day, the results of a pietistic Christianity. Because the pietists retreated from the culture, the institutions of the culture have been annexed and overtaken by pagan men,” he said.

ISIS MILITANTS EYE ATTACKS ON US VIA MEXICAN BORDER

Challenging Islamic Extremism - Promoting Dialogue

Linkster’s thoughts...
Inquiring Minds Want To Know...
Which Country Is Supplying The Electricity
To Light The Above Tunnel?
The U.S., Mexico Or Both?

Ryan Mauro, National Security Analyst for The Clarion Project —
The Department of Homeland Security has confirmed reports that Islamic State (commonly known as ISIS) social media accounts are talking about infiltrating the U.S. through the Mexican border, but says it has no intelligence about a specific plot.
In late August, it was reported that a warning bulletin had been issued to security personnel near the U.S.-Mexico border about an impending attack by the Islamic State using car bombs. The report stated that the Islamic State had established a presence in Juarez, Mexico, a city near Texas devastated by drug cartels.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reacted by denying the report, with a spokesperson saying, “We are aware of absolutely nothing credible to substantiate this claim.”
However, a Texas Department of Public Safety bulletin dated August 28 was then leaked that stated that the Islamic State’s social media accounts were discussing entering the U.S. through Mexico in order to carry out an attack.

“Social media account holders believed to be ISIS militants and propagandists have called for unspecified border operations, or they have sought to raise awareness that illegal entry through Mexico is a viable option,” it states.

It says that 32 Islamic State accounts on Twitter and Facebook discussed a possible attack via Mexico in a one-week period. One of those is an account operated by an Islamic State supporter in Mosul, Iraq.

Border Patrol agents anonymously told a reporter in Texas they had been given information about the Islamic State looking for facilitators in Nuevo-Lavado, Mexico.

DHS Undersecretary for Intelligence Francis Taylor confirmed the information when questioned by Senator John McCain (R-AZ), admitting, “There have been Twitter, social media exchanges among (ISIS) adherents across the globe speaking about that as a possibility.”

The DHS later stated that Taylor’s statement was not a reversal of its previous statement.
“There is no credible intelligence to suggest that there is an active plot by ISIL [an alternative acronym for ISIS] to attempt to cross the southern border,” it said.

The language of the initial DHS denial gave the impression that the entirety of the report was inaccurate. It was designed to make readers dismiss its contents. A truly honest answer would have acknowledged online Islamic State communications but cautioned that there is not solid information about Islamic State members actively trying to sneak into the U.S. via Mexico.

The poor security on the U.S.-Mexico border has become a major political issue in light of the campaign against the Islamic State. Concern is especially high about Americans and Europeans that have joined the group and retain passports and visas allowing them to re-enter the U.S and carry out an attack.

A jihadist who killed four people in a shooting at a Jewish museum in Belgium on May 24 had fought in Syria. He held Western hostages for the Islamic State, including a French journalist who later identified him. The British Prime Minister says there have been about six Islamic State terror plots in Europe.

At least three Americans have died fighting alongside the Islamic State and over 100 Americans have joined jihadist groups in Syria. Other officials have put the number as high as 300. At least seven Americans have been arrested as they tried to leave the country to join the Islamic State or Al-Qaeda in Syria. An eighth sought to join Hezbollah.

The Pentagon believes a dozen Americans are with the Islamic State right now. The number is probably low, considering that the CIA underestimated the strength of the Islamic State by up to 300%. It is now believed that the group has 20-31,000 fighters. At least 2,000 of them are Westerners.

Associates and members of Islamist terrorist groups are known to operate in Mexico and have previously penetrated the border. A leaked confidential law enforcement report in 2010 revealed that Mexico had arrested a group of 23 illegal immigrants from Somalia in January that were headed to America. Only 16 were identified. One of them, Mohamed Osman Noor, was linked to Al-Shabaab, Al-Qaeda’s branch in Somalia. The group was accidentally released.

A prison convert to Islam in Virginia named Anthony Joseph Tracy was arrested in 2010 and sentenced for helping to smuggle 272 Somalis into the U.S. He helped them get visas to Cuba so they could then enter South America and arrive in America through Mexico.

Tracy admitted to being approached by Al-Shabaab, but he claimed that he turned them away. He reportedly failed a lie detector test when asked if he snuck members of the terrorist group into the U.S. Officials said they believed that the Somalis are in America but they have not been identified or located.

In November 2010, a Somali named Ahmed Muhammad Dhakane admitted to running a human smuggling ring and working with two Somali terrorist groups linked to Al-Qaeda, Al-Ittihad Al-Islami (which he was a member of) and al-Barakat. Dhakane himself came to the U.S. illegally through Mexico.

From 2006 to 2008, Dhakane lived in Brazil and snuck people into America until he was arrested in Texas. He charge at least $3,000 per person and was known to have made up to $75,000 in one day. Prosecutors said he told them that he did not know the agendas of those he smuggled, but “he believed they would fight against the U.S. if the jihad moved from overseas locations to the US mainland.”

In 2011, the U.S. foiled a plot by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) to kill the Saudi ambassador by blowing up a restaurant in Washington, D.C., among other targets. Buried in the headline was the fact that the IRGC viewed a Mexican drug cartel as central to the planned wave of attacks.

The Iranian agents discussed delivering opium to the Zetas drug cartel. In exchange, the traffickers would help bomb the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C. and the embassies of Saudi Arabia and Israel in Argentina.

On June 23, 2010, Rep. Sue Myrick (R-SC) wrote a letter to the DHS warning that a senior Mexican military officer told her that Hezbollah was giving explosives training to members of drug cartels. She said, “This might lead to Israel-like car bombings of Mexican/USA border personnel or National Guard units in the border regions.”

Only a few weeks later, a drug cartel detonated a car bomb in Juarez near the U.S. border and killed a policeman and a doctor who were baited into coming to the scene. It was described as having “the same kind of sophistication that is used by terrorist groups like Hezbollah.”

According to a Tucson Police Department memo from September 2010, a member of Hezbollah was arrested in Tijuana, Mexico a couple of months prior. His job was to set up logistics for the terrorist group.

The memo also recalls the April 2010 arrest of Jamal Yousef in New York City. He said that he and his cousin were smuggling weapons from Iraq to Mexico for Hezbollah. Yousef claimed that he delivered 100 M-16 assault rifles, 100 AR-15 rifles, 2500 hand grenades, C4 explosives and anti-tank weaponry.

Credible testimony about cooperation between Hezbollah and Mexican drug cartels goes back as far as 2009. Former Drug Enforcement Agency Operations Chief Michael Braun warned that Hezbollah is in Mexico and using “the same criminal weapons smugglers, document traffickers and transportation experts as the drug cartels.”

Islamist terrorists have been exploiting the border for years before the Islamic State burst onto the scene. It is naïve to the highest degree to believe that the Islamic State and others won’t try to exploit one of America’s most well-known and tempting vulnerabilities.

PRAYER RETURNS TO CAPITOL HILL

America’s Independent News Network
“A Free Press for a Free People”

Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson kneeling to pray
over the Declaration of Independence
Revival Of Worship Services Begun
By Founding Fathers

Garth Kant, WND — The view from the speaker’s balcony is spectacular and unlike any vantage in the nation’s capital.

From the crest of Capitol Hill looking across the West Lawn toward the Washington Monument, half of the city is laid out in plain view, and at night, the boulevards, which all seem to lead to the Capitol, sparkle as though lined with diamonds.

A historian recently leading a group of visitors pointed toward the end of the shimmering diagonal to the right, Pennsylvania Ave., and said you could see the White House in Thomas Jefferson’s day.

The guide told his guests how Jefferson, as was his custom, would ride his horse the 1.6 miles from the White House to the Capitol, whatever the weather, to attend church with his red Bible tucked under his arm. (“Yes,” the historian added, “It had the miracles he doubted cut out.”)

It might strike many as odd to learn the man who coined the expression “separation of church and state” would attend church services inside the Capitol.

However, no less an authority than the Library of Congress not only verifies this surprising fact, its website makes the astounding observation: “It is no exaggeration to say that on Sundays in Washington during the administrations of Thomas Jefferson (1801-1809) and of James Madison (1809-1817) the state became the church.”

“Within a year of his inauguration, Jefferson began attending church services in the House of Representatives. Madison followed Jefferson’s example,” the statement continued.

Non-denominational Christian church services were actually held in the old House of Representatives chamber, what is now called Statuary Hall, from 1807 to 1857. They were also held in the Capitol for a few years after the Civil War until 1870.

Now, after a hiatus of 144 years, weekly prayer services have returned to the Capitol, held exclusively for members of Congress and their staff.

The services were launched under the direction of Dr. Jim Garlow, lead pastor of Skyline Church in San Diego and Rev. Dan Cummins, an associate pastor of that congregation. They are hosted by several members of Congress including Representatives Trent Franks, R-Ariz., Doug Lamalfa, R-Calif., Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., and Louie Gohmert, R-Texas.

Garlow is the oversight pastor and Cummins is the convening pastor of The Jefferson Gathering held for members of Congress and staffers every Wednesday evening in a modestly appointed but comfortable room in the Capitol’s lower level.

Cummins made the official announcement of the services to WND, waiting until they had been underway for seven weeks.

The pastor explained the services are held mid-week because, unlike in the days of Jefferson, most lawmakers travel back to their home districts on the weekends.

Muslims have been holding services in the Capitol on Fridays since 1993, a tradition begun in 1993 under former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga.

Garlow invites nationally recognized pastors to preach at the services on a rotating basis. Information can be found at the Jefferson Gathering website.

WND agreed to respect the privacy of the members of Congress who attended by preserving their anonymity. The services WND observed were spirited, with participants enthusiastically singing hymns and evidencing what appeared to be real joy.

Reverent and solemn prayers called for the revival of America and implored God to bestow the nation’s leaders with divine guidance.

A pair of special guests preached on the special occasion of the official return of weekly services to the Capitol.

His Beatitude, Ignatius Youssef III Younan, Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, offered prayers for the Christians being martyred in the Middle East and asked God for blessings on America.

Jonathan Cahn, a messianic rabbi and author of the New York Times bestseller “The Harbinger” and the newly released “The Mystery of the Shemitah.”

The author said when George Washington dedicated America to God, it became only the second nation on earth to do so, after Israel.

But, Cahn warned, as happened in ancient Israel, “If we turn away from Him, God will remove His blessings.”

“Now, we’ve turned from God and, like (ancient) Israel, call good evil and evil, good.”

The rabbi related how his book “The Harbinger” outlined specific warnings America has received and how it is risking judgment for turning away from God.

Cahn said both his books show how the events of Sept. 11, 2001 were marked by key events of such uncanny timing as to be beyond coincidence in their mathematical improbability, and the same signs and warnings that appeared long ago in Israel “are now appearing here.”

He called that autumn day 13 years ago a prophetic warning, a “shaking,” and predicted more to come – a “great shaking” that will effect the economy and more, and its “purpose will be to call the United States back to God.”

“Is there hope?” he asked. “If there was no hope there would be no harbingers.”

“Now is the time to change your life, add and subtract whatever is necessary. God is calling us now.”

In his homily, Garlow called Cahn a prophet and, “One of the key figures God has raised up at this moment.” The pastor hoped Cahn’s books would go down in history as a turning point for the nation.

Cahn prayed, “Let this city on a hill be revived and honor you again.”

(Video of Cahn speaking in the Capitol courtesy JoAnn Cummins)

This is not the first time that pastors Cummins and Garlow have joined forces to make history in the U.S. Capitol. On May 8, 2012, Cummins was given permission by Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner, R-Ohio, to use prestigious Statuary Hall, the original chamber of the House, to hold “Washington: A Man of Prayer.”

It has become an annual event with growing support by members of the House and Senate. The 2014 event was aired globally by Daystar Television Broadcast Network and webcast by WND TV. It opened with a personal welcome from Boehner and was hosted by Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., and emceed by former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.

“Washington: A Man of Prayer″ commemorates the events of April 30, 1789, when, after being sworn in at Federal Hall, President George Washington, accompanied by Congress, proceeded, in session, to St. Paul’s Chapel where, as one of its first official acts, the newly elected president and Congress offered prayers of dedication to God on America’s behalf.

“Washington: A Man of Prayer″ has been held in Statuary Hall, where the House of Representatives originally met, because that is where church services were held from 1807 to 1857, according to the Library of Congress.

The Library also recorded an act that would likely provoke such outrage from secularists as to be inconceivable today: “The Gospel was also preached in the Supreme Court chambers.”

A popular modern interpretation of the First Amendment’s “establishment clause” that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion” is that is was designed to prohibit the government from promoting religion in general and to protect the state from the church.

Others see the clause as designed to protect the church from the state. Judging from his actions, Jefferson may have been in the latter camp. (The same may be true of the author of the establishment clause and the entire Bill of Rights, James Madison, who also attended church services in the Capitol.)

For, according to the Library of Congress, not only did he attend church services in the Capitol, “Throughout his administration Jefferson permitted church services in executive branch buildings.”

Another controversy has been whether the nation’s third president was a Christian or a deist, particularly in light of his excising miracles from his own Bible.

Jefferson may have had the last word on that, long ago.

On page 385 of “The Writings of Thomas Jefferson” the third president wrote, “I am a real Christian … that is to say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus Christ.”

A footnote to the historian’s tale of Jefferson’s horseback rides from the White House to church, as told to a small but intimate and enraptured gathering.

The historian related how, on one such Sunday, a friend asked Jefferson if he really was a believer, and, according to the president’s contemporary, Rev. Ethan Allen, who chronicled the exchange, the president responded:

“No nation has ever yet existed or been governed without religion, nor can be. The Christian religion is the best religion that has been given to man and I, as Chief Magistrate of this nation, am bound to give it the sanction of my example.”

Netanyahu Remains Committed To Preventing
Iran From Attaining Nuclear Weapons

Israel Today Staff — In battling the political echelon for defense budget increases on Sunday, the commander of the Israel Air Force, Maj.-Gen. Amir Eshel, reminded everyone that the same planes used to attack Gaza over the summer could be called upon at any moment to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities.

“There’s no one in this room who’d be prepared to ride in a car as old as our planes,” Eshel said in remarks carried by Israel’s Channel 2 News. “Yesterday these planes were in Gaza, and tomorrow we may send them to Tehran.”

Israel’s national budget has been a source of great tension in the wake of the summer’s Gaza war.

Finance Minister Yair Lapid has vowed not to raise taxes to cover the expense of the offensive against Gaza’s Hamas rulers. But Prime Minister Benjamin Netnayahu insists that in addition to covering the Gaza war, Israel needs to pour billions of additional shekels into the defense budget in order to effectively tackle a wide range of pressing security threats.

Netanyahu remains committed to preventing Iran from attaining nuclear weapons at any cost, and maintaining Israel’s air superiority is key to following through on that promise.

With Iran remaining defiant in its quest for an atomic bomb, Eshel’s comment was seen in local media as a hint that Israel could be preparing to strike the Islamic Republic in the very near future.

2 U.S. Fighter Jets Crashed Into Pacific
During Mission

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.” 2 Timothy 3:1
“Two U.S. Navy fighter jets just crashed into the Pacific Ocean during a mission according to the Navy.

The cause of the downed F/A Hornets has not yet been disclosed but the pilots were stationed on the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier.

The question comes to mind, was this an accidental crash? If so, why did two separate sophisticated jets crash? At a cost of over $55 million apiece and with the lives of U.S. fighter pilots worth far more, we need to find out what caused these dual crashes and do what is necessary to keep this from repeating.

While it is unlikely that terrorists have weapons capable of downing supersonic F/A Hornets, that possibility needs to be investigated--including the short list of state sponsors with that capability.

Indeed we live in perilous times.”

Jesus Privately Briefing His Inner Circle of Disciples
Regarding The Last Days
“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” ~ Matthew 24:3-14
