First-Ever Muslim Prayer Service To Be Held At Washington National Cathedral

Let no one deceive you, biblical Christianity has nothing in common with Islam, and never will. If your church begins to incorporate any aspect of Islam into it’s physical building or worship service, run away as fast as you can.
The cathedral, part of the Episcopal Church,
has long held high-profile interfaith events, and some mosques hold services in synagogues or churches if they need overflow space. But organizers said Monday that they are seeking
to make a statement by having Muslim leaders come and hold their midday service in such a visible Christian house of worship.
“We want the world to see the Christian community is partnering with us and is supporting our religious freedom in the same way we are calling for religious freedom for all minorities in Muslim countries,” said Rizwan Jaka, a spokesman with the prominent ADAMS mosque in Sterling, Va., one of the co-sponsors of Friday’s service. “Let this be a lesson to the world.”

The service, which will begin around 12:20 and is for invited guests only, developed out of a relationship between the cathedral’s director of liturgy, the Rev. Gina Campbell, and the South African ambassador to the United States, Ebrahim Rasool, who is Muslim. The two worked together on a memorial service for Nelson Mandela, Jaka said.
“This is a dramatic moment in the world and in Muslim-Christian relations,” Rasool said in a prepared statement. “This needs to be a world in which all are free to believe and practice and in which we avoid bigotry,
Islamaphobia, racism, anti-Semitism, and anti-Christianity and to embrace our humanity and to embrace faith.”

Offering to cooperate with Iran against ISIS is fruitless. Iran and Assad want to throw gasoline on the fire while be handed a fireman’s suit. As the November 24 deadline for a deal with Iran looms, President Obama wrote a secret letter to Supreme Leader Khamenei reportedly suggesting a common bond against the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS or ISIL).
The unpublished letter reportedly offered cooperation with Iran against ISIS if a nuclear deal is reached. Secretary of State Kerry said this is incorrect and that the nuclear negotiations are being treated as a wholly independent issue.

Our republic continues to survive based on a reverence for law and order. We are not allowed to merely disobey laws we do not like and if we do so, we should expect to pay the consequences. However, what are we to do when a new law contradicts an already-existing law? For example, many Washingtonians awoke last week to discover that I-594, a proposed anti-Second Amendment initiative, had passed. The law mandates the use of background checks for private transfers, thus interjecting the all-seeing eye of the government into affairs that ought to remain between private citizens.
The nature of private firearm ownership is, at the term would suggest, to maintain the tools for self-defense privately. Anyone who questions why citizens would object to having government monitor who is armed and who is not is a person not well-acquainted with the modus operandi of despots and tyrants throughout the past few centuries.

There are times that require people to step out of their comfort zone, to step up for justice, tolerance and moderation. We know going in that the repercussions of taking action will draw a rain of accusations and attacks from the forces we are confronting.
