PERSPECTIVE ON ISRAEL

When Dr. Marsha Levine, a Cambridge educated professor and researcher, who is an expert on the history of the domestication of horses, was asked for assistance on an assignment relevant to Levine's field of expertise, not only was Shachar Rabinovitz from a kibbutz in northern Israel turned down, she was also castigated regarding the Palestinians "plight".
Rabinovitz led her e-mail with, "I'm from Israel," before explaining the nature of her query. "I'm doing an assessment for school about horses, and it will be great if you could answer a few questions that I will ask," wrote the girl.
Rabinovitz was faced with criticism ans Levine answered, "I'll answer your questions when there is peace and justice for Palestinians in Palestine! You might be a child, but if you are old enough to write to me, you are old enough to learn about Israeli history and how it has impacted on the lives of Palestinian people."
Levine explained that she is a member of the organization Jews for Justice for Palestinians, and a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement. She also provided Rabinowitz with a link to the Jews for Justice for Palestinians website, urging the girl to educate herself on the history of the Palestinian people.
