THE BLUNT TRUTH ABOUT GREED AND FREEDOM THAT WAS DELIEVERED OVER 30 YEARS AGO

Truth Lives Here

Socialism Shredded In 2 Minutes

Glenn played a portion of a 1979 interview between Phil Donahue and Milton Friedman, in which Friedman offered a very well-articulated argument in favor of minimizing the role of government in a free market system as a means of creating political and social freedom. It is Friedman’s eloquent delivery of what could be considered a complex theme that Glenn was most concerned with.

“[We have to be] more than alert and knowledgeable,” Glenn said. “We have to be able to explain to our fellow citizens what raises our eyebrows, what makes us even more alert, and what we have found in our knowledge… Milton Friedman did a great segment on the Donohue show years ago on greed. Listen to what he said.”

Watch Friedman and Donahue debate the power of greed:

“That is a beat-down of everything that’s being said right now,” Glenn said. “[But] nobody is articulating it that way. He asks the question: Where in the world does greed not rule?”

What makes Friedman’s delivery so unique is his ability to discuss harsh realities, while holding fast to his principles. Considering the lack of honesty in our world today, Glenn questioned why Friedman is often characterized as a villain.

“Nobody is talking about real world stuff. Nobody is saying the truths that need to be spoken. He spoke truth,” Glenn concluded. “It was clear. It wasn’t about politics. It was about basic principles. Milton Friedman should be the most popular guy on every campus because this guy is talking truth.” » Full Article With Comments

I found this not to long ago, thought I would share....

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot help some men by tearing down big men.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot help the poor men by destroying the rich.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away mens initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.
—Reverend William J.H. Boetcker 1942

BLACK STATE SENATOR DESTROYS LIBERALS

Liberalism Has Nearly Destroyed Black America
Now It’s Time For Black America To Return The Favor

» Video missing? Watch full screen here

“It was recently announced that Louisiana State Senator Elbert Guillory will be serving as honorary chairman of the Free at Last PAC, which describes itself as being "formed by several leaders as an effort to support Black Republicans who run for federal office and also to educate Blacks about the values of the Republican Party." Below is a summary of a 4:00 video he posted online:

"Liberalism has nearly destroyed black America, and now it's time for black America to return the favor," Guillory says with a smile in his new video.

Throughout the video, the state senator argues that the Republican Party is more in line with the values of the black community than the Democrat Party, asking: "After all, what was God's plan for our people? Is this why God delivered us from the wilderness of slavery, so that able-bodied men could sit on the porch all day drinking liquor? Was it God's plan that we would trade one plantation for another?"

"Truth is undeniable," he maintained. "Evil may attack it. Ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. I promise you that one day it will be impossible for black Americans to deny the truth about this liberal nanny state..."

Guillory said it is his "sincere hope" that he and others can help people reach the conclusion before economic realities force them to the realization. When a government is spending three dollars for every two it takes in, he said, eventually the grocery store will say "no thank you" to food stamps, Medicare cards won't work, and the welfare checks won't cash.
"Only capitalism can provide the upward mobility for the meekest among us to break the shackles of poverty and rise into the middle class," he urged.

For too long, the Republican Party has cowered and acted "ashamed of the very values that made America the shining city on a hill," Guillory said.

It's time to "reach into the black community and articulate those values that fuel the American dream," he added. "We will be silent no more."”

Senator Elbert Guillory Biography
Elbert Lee Guillory is an African American Republican member of the Louisiana State Senate. He represents District 24, including his native Opelousas, Louisiana, and an assortment of rural precincts. Previously represented by the Democrat Armand Brinkhaus, the district encompasses most of Saint Landry Parish and a northern part of adjacent Lafayette Parish. Guillory previously served as state representative for District 40, having succeeded Democrat Charles I. "Chuck" Hudson. Up until 2007, Guillory had been a registered Republican and served on the Louisiana Republican state central committee. He became a Democrat in 2007 when he first ran for the state House in the heavily Democratic District 40. During the 2013 regular session of the Louisiana Legislature, Guillory switched his party affiliation back to Republican. » Full Bio

Elbert Guillory: Why I Am A Republican

“Somehow it's been forgotten that the Republican Party was founded in 1854 as an Abolitionist Movement with one simple creed: that slavery is a violation of the rights of man, and the first Republican president was Abraham Lincoln.”

Linkster Note: Recently, democratic vice president Joe Biden told a gathered group of black Americans (in a mocking "southern drawl"), “The Republicans want to put y'all back in chains.” This statement was race-baiting and beyond absurd to both, the issue at hand and recorded history in light of the above statement by Senator Guillory.

BONO: CAPITALISM, NOT AID, LIFTS PEOPLE OUT OF POVERTY

Truth Lives Here

Glenn Beck:
“I am a fan of Bono because of this. He gets it.”

Transcript

Is Bono a closet conservative? He certainly seemed to understand conservative economic principles pretty well during a speech at Georgetown University earlier this year, in which the rocker advocated for “commerce [and] entrepreneurial capitalism” as an alternative to aid in third world countries.

“He can’t do what he’s done and be a total jerk. He’s not doing all that charity work and everything else because he’s a bad guy,” Glenn said of Bono on radio this morning. “He’s a good guy. He’s just misguided by going to the governments [of these countries] and asking for a bail out. Well, let me play some audio…. Listen to the left’s icon: Bono… Listen to what he just said about capitalism.”

BONO: So some of Africa is rising and some of Africa is stuck. It’s a question of if the rising bit will pull the rest of Africa up or whether the other Africa will weigh the continent down. Which will it be? The stakes here aren’t just about them.

Imagine, for a second, this last global recession, but without the economic growth of China and India, without the hundreds of millions of newly minted middle class folks who now buy American and European goods. Imagine that. Think about the last five years.

Rock star preaches capitalism. Wow. Sometimes I hear myself and I just can’t believe it. But commerce is real. That’s what you’re about here. It’s real. Aid is just a stopgap. Commerce, entrepreneur capitalism takes more people out of poverty than aid. Of course we know that.

“Did you hear that,” Glenn asked. “‘Aid is just a stopgap.’ See, here’s what the President is so screwed up on… The President is saying that the best – all of his minions are saying this: The best thing we can do for job growth, the best thing we can do for people is put them on aid. No, that’s a stopgap. That is to go in and rescue somebody when they are in panic situations.”

Benjamin Franklin is known for his charitable work. He founded Pennsylvania Hospital in 1751 with Dr. Thomas Bond “to care for the sick-poor and insane who were wandering the streets of Philadelphia.” One of the reasons he became involved with the hospital was because he believed in charity. He feared the government aid programs he saw in England, and sought to provide an alternative for the people of the colonies.

“If you put this into your system, over a long period of time, it will kill the spirit and it will kill you. The same thing can be said about temporary aid going on too long,” Glenn said. “This is why Benjamin Franklin eviscerated England. You have to make people uncomfortable in their poverty because we love people. We’re charitable. This is the guy who built the first charitable hospital. He hates the poor? No. He says, ‘If you continue to give aid like England did, you will destroy the spirit and then your whole thing will fly apart.’”

“Here’s what Bono is saying. [Aid is for] an emergency,” he continued. “You come in, and if there’s somebody that is hurting, if there’s somebody that needs help, and they can’t find anyway to help themselves, then we as people – not American citizens – we as humans have a responsibility and a right to go in and help others.”

But, again, that right and responsibility is a temporary solution to a long-term problem. The left typically fails to acknowledge the long-term solution, but Bono’s decades of charitable work in third world countries has shown him that the only answer to poverty is sustainable economic growth.

“Bono has given aid and begged governments for so long – aid, aid, aid, aid, aid. And then he comes back ten years later, and he’s like, ‘This situation is not any better.’ And so he puts his brain in gear,” Glenn explained. “Instead, give them that temporary relief, so they can get themselves back into shape, a little bit stronger. Then you slowly remove the aid from them, and they do it themselves. And then you have the resources to go give the aid to another part of the world, or another community, or another family… I am a fan of Bono because of this. He gets it.”

“Look at how much time and money Bono puts into aid. Look at that,” Glenn concluded. “And then he has the balance to come out and say, ‘Look, I can’t believe I’m even saying this. This isn’t the guy I wanted to be. Buts this is the truth.’ It’s fantastic. If I was on the left, I’d be going after rodeo clowns too because… this thing is coming apart. People are on to you.”

I hope we have enough people come out and fight hard to tell the truth: freedom and the free market of Capitalism are the proven way to lift people out of poverty.

The Democrat Socialists are leading us to complete ruination, their only idea is to spend, spend and more spending; always more spending; never accepting or admitting that their bankrupt ideology and unfounded principles of governance have always failed and will always fail.

A SIMPLE SOLUTION TO THE OBAMA PROBLEM

Informing and Equipping Americans Who Love Freedom

“He Is Working To Destroy Capitalism
And To Install Communism”

Allan Erickson, The Western Center For Journalism —

The Nature of the Problem
Benghazi: Obama, Clinton, Panetta, and the rest made political decisions when duty demanded they make military decisions. They neglected duty, preferring personal ambition; and for this, they are rightly condemned. In Benghazi, good Americans died because anti-Americans did nothing.

In Egypt, Obama toppled a dictator who stabilized the region promoting peace, then installed a dictator who destabilizes the entire world, promoting war. Progressive.

On the economy, we need lower taxes, fewer regulations, energy development, smaller government, manufacturing, reduced government spending, a solution to the debt problem, secure borders, and immigration enforcement. Obama works against each item, on every front. The only logical conclusion: he is working to destroy capitalism and install communism. Pledge allegiance, comrade, or else.

Obama stomps on traditional values that nourish liberty, he disregards the Constitution and expresses contempt for Congress and the Supreme Court, then promotes Sharia and statism, while arming federal agencies and creating a huge domestic ‘security’ force as he increases surveillance on citizens. What do you think is going to happen?

BHO is hard on our allies and our military and soft on our enemies. He arms terrorists and disarms citizens. This is a President?

30% of all abortions are performed on black women. At that rate, it is projected that blacks will no longer exist in America in about 80 years. President Obama recently praised Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider and an organization founded by a racist who wanted to eradicate people of color. Under BHO, nothing has improved for Blacks or Hispanics, nothing. So why do they support this poser?

American youth have been devastated by ObamaNation on two fronts: in the present, they cannot find work; in the future, they’ll not find freedom or food. Perhaps from now on, American youth will vote for conservatives to restore liberty and prosperity?

To save America, there is a simple solution: vote Pro-life. If a candidate is Pro-life, he or she is generally right on all the rest of the central issues like liberty and prosperity.

Excerpt: Ron Paul, writing in 1981—“Today, we are seeing a piecemeal destruction of individual freedom. And in abortion, the statists have found a most effective method of obliterating freedom: obliterating the individual. Abortion on demand is the ultimate State tyranny; the State simply declares that certain classes of human beings are not persons, and therefore not entitled to the protection of the law. The State protects the ‘right’ of some people to kill others, just as the courts protected the ‘property rights’ of slave masters in their slaves.” » Full Article

America the Beautiful was once the land of the free, with freedom of speech and religion, freedom of the press, and the right to assemble or to petition the Government in favor of or against certain policies. All of this is history and pretty much been relegated to the ancient history shelves.
