HE IS RISEN INDEED

The Apostle Paul tells us that if Jesus is not risen from the dead, our faith is in vain. Yet, many professing Christians deny the physical resurrection of Christ. In this message, Dr. Ravi Zacharias will give a defense of the bodily resurrection of Jesus against modernist skeptics inside and outside the church and against postmoderns who don’t think it matters. He will explain that if Jesus is risen, nothing else matters, and that if Jesus is not risen, nothing else matters.

THE GOD WHO SUFFERS

HARVEST MINISTRIES
KNOWING GOD AND MAKING HIM KNOWN

PASTOR GREG LAURIE

SERMON NOTES
Why did Jesus have to suffer and die? To satisfy the the righteous demands of God and reconcile us to the Father-this was His ultimate purpose. The death of Christ accomplished redemption, the eternal plan of salvation, and the sacrifice of His Son made complete-bringing forth the infinite and greatest good. Because Christ suffered, He understands our suffering and we are never alone or beyond reach.

THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST

CALVARY MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA
YOUR ONLINE CHURCH

Hear the word of God and grow in the understanding
and knowledge of Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Saviour.

PASTOR ANDREW RUSSELL

SERMON NOTES
Pastor Andrew Russell preaches on John 20:1-18 and highlights that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of Christianity. Without the resurrection our faith would be empty and we would be still in our sins. The resurrection of Jesus Christ gives us the assurance that we will overcome death, too if we accept the Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. WE CAN SHOUT: “WHERE, OH DEATH, IS YOUR VICTORY? WHERE, OH DEATH, IS YOUR STING?” Thanks and Praise to our Lord Jesus Christ who has redeemed us from everlasting condemnation.

PASTOR ANDREW RUSSELL

SERMON NOTES
Pastor Andrew Russell preaches on John 19:31-42 and talks about the death and burial of Jesus. The gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and many bible prophecies had to be fulfilled to identify the Messiah. Jesus was in perfect control of His death and burial and fulfilled therefore exactly all the Old Testament prophecies. We can see the great love God has for us that He died for our sins and took our punishment upon Himself. How great is our God!

† DAILY BIBLE VERSE - APRIL 5, 2015

The Inspired & Holy Words of God Jehovah
According toThe King James Version Bible

Matthew 28:6

The Official King James Bible Online
(For times such as these...)

“That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH,
art the most high over all the earth.” ~ Psalm 83:18

The King James Version is a translation named after King James I of England, who first commissioned the new English Bible translation in 1604 A.D. and later completed in 1611 A.D. King James 'authorized' the new translation to be read in churches in England and beyond. Later known as the 'Authorized Version' in 1814, the King James Version became a standard among English-speaking Christians.

The King James Version is considered one of the most accurate English translations in existence today. A skilled committee of 54 translators worked for 7 years to carefully complete the King James translation.

The translation is most noted for its poetic feel - prose that seems to flow with a certain rhythmic quality. The book is often cited as the most published book in world history with a significant influence on literature and culture in the last few centuries. It is estimated that more than 1 billion copies of the King James Version have been published.

The King James Version has had a few rounds of edits, mostly to keep up with changes in the English language itself. The English from the original 1611 version is noticeably different than the newer 1769 version. People who are unfamiliar with the English language in the Elizabethan and Jacobean era can easily mistake the 1611 King James Version writing style for spelling errors. The same can be said for other writings of that era as well, for example Beowulf. It is widely recognized that the King James Version has made a significant impact on the English language and it continues to leave impressions on people and culture, as one of the most published books in world history. » Read ‘The Official King James Bible Online’

LGBT ACTIVISTS WITH ‘GAY VISION’ PEDDLE PAINTINGS OF HOMOSEXUAL FALSE CHRIST

Breaking News. Spiritual Perspective.

“Queer Christ”?

Jennifer LeClaire, Watchman On The Wall, Charisma News —
Jesus came on the liberal Christian scene this week as a modern gay man with "The Passion of Christ: A Gay Vision," a series of images that are also collected in a book that paints a false gospel.

Kittredge Cherry, who describes herself as a "lesbian Christian author and art historian" authored the book. She's upset because "conservative Christians" have "attacked" these paintings, along with the book she wrote about them, as "blasphemy."

"But we refuse to concede Jesus to those who act like they own the copyright on Christ, then use him as a weapon to dominate others," she writes in a Huffington Post article. Right-wing Christians denounced us as 'blasphemers' and condemned our book as an 'abomination,' 'disgusting' and 'an outrage to mock Christ in this manner' ... LGBT Christian visions are important now because conservatives are using religion to justify discrimination against queer people."

Presenting a False Christ

The deeper I got into this article, the more I wondered if this was an April Fool's joke. Then I noticed the publishing date. The article was written a couple of days ago and there's nothing funny about it.

Of course, there's also nothing funny about LGBT people who are harassed, persecuted or maligned. Like Cherry, it grieves me to think of victims of anti-LGBT hate crimes, the many LGBTs who have committed suicide, died with AIDS or have been executed in Islamic countries. This has to stop.

Like Cherry, I believe deeply that God loves all people and longs to fellowship with all of mankind. I also believe that remaking Jesus into what she calls a “queer Christ, as do these paintings, is indeed sacrilegious and offensive. This new gay vision of Jesus is not presenting a true Christ, but a perversion of His truth and therefore a false Christ. Listen to Cherry's false gospel:

"The queer Christ is intended to broaden, not limit, how Christ is perceived. Every image of Jesus is insufficient," she writes. "It is valuable to have images of the 'queer Christ' along with all the others to show that Christ is with all human beings in our full diversity."

A False Gospel

This is simply not true. This "gay Jesus" she is promoting may indeed welcome and understand LGBTs in the church but the real Jesus will not let them continue willfully practicing—and even glamorizing—homosexuality. Indeed, He wants to deliver sinners and cleanse us from all unrighteousness with His blood. But we have to be willing to lay aside the sin. (see Hebrews 12:1).

And let's be clear: Churches are not rejecting homosexuals. Churches are rejecting the sin of homosexuality. There is a big difference there. If you are wondering why conservative Christians are up in arms, listen to Cherry's next statement:

Nobody knows for sure what the historical Jesus looked like or whether he was attracted to other men. Some progressive Bible scholars do argue that Jesus had a same-sex lover, but that is not the point of his life. What the gospels emphasize about Jesus is the wildly inclusive way that he loved."

Jesus' love is not at question here. Jesus' gospel is. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16 “We’ve all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 Jesus calls us to repent and believe the gospel (see Mark 1:15).

Repentance demands a change of heart about sin—to recognize how it separates us from God. We can't defend or justify our sins and repent and find forgiveness of our sins at the same time. We can't be intimate with sin and be intimate with Jesus at the same time.

Here's the bottom line: It doesn't matter how intelligent, compelling or compassionate the argument is. Depicting false images of Christ and preaching a false gospel may make people feel good, but it won't set them free. I'm glad Cherry and other LGBT people believe in Jesus. But believing in Jesus is not enough.

“Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, If you remain in My word, then you are truly My disciples. You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” John 8:31

THE BIBLE SHOWS THAT JESUS OF NAZARETH WAS CRUCIFIED ON A WEDNESDAY MORNING

WHATEVER WE ONCE WERE, WE ARE NO LONGER A CHRISTIAN NATION.”
- Barack Hussein Obama

“It Is Finished”

The Bible Believer’s Guide
To The Crucifixion Timeline

Geoffrey Grider, Founder, Editor, NTEB Blog, April 19, 2014 —
All over the world [last] Friday, Christians and Catholics [observed] Good Friday. The Catholic church teaches that Jesus went to the cross on a Friday and rose from the grave on a Sunday morning. It sounds right, and mostly every one across the board accepts those days and that chronology. Only one problem. It’s completely wrong according to the biblical account of what happened.

The Catholic teaching is based on 1 Corinthians 15:4 which says this:
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” ~ 1 Corinthians 15:4

They count Friday as one day, Saturday as the second day and Sunday as the third day. 3 days. Only it’s not 3 days, it’s barely a day and a half according to the Jewish calendar.

Jesus did not rise on Sunday morning, the bible says that He already “was risen” by the time Sunday morning rolled around. Read it for yourself:
Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.”~ Mark 16:9

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.” “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
In all the gospel accounts, Jesus is already risen on Sunday morning. There is no account of His rising at that time, it has already happened. So if the Roman Catholic timeline is followed, you would have at the most 30 hours of elapsed time. Not even close enough to the “3 days and 3 nights” that Jesus Himself said would transpire.

The Jewish Day Still Starts The Way It Did
In Genesis When God Created It

In the first chapter of Genesis, we see God creating our 24 day, made up of 12 hours of “evening,” and 12 hours of “morning.” This is exactly how we still chart time here in 2014. But the bible says that God started the day at 6:00 P.M. Make a mental note of that because when we come back to this point in just a bit, you’re going to need to remember it.

Jesus says in Matthew that His crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection would match that of what happened to the prophet Jonah in the Old Testament. Here it is:
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”
There you have it, the required time mandated by Jesus Himself is 3 full days, and 3 full nights. Jesus was crucified on Wednesday morning, and taken down off the cross before sundown at 6:00 P.M. when Thursday would begin. To us that’s still Wednesday night, but the on the Jewish calendar, 6:00 P.M. starts the next day.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.” ~ John 19:31-32
The Two Sabbath Days

Now please note the phrase “that sabbath day was on a high day”. This is not the regular Saturday sabbath day, it is a special, high sabbath day. What was so special about this “high day”? It was the Passover! This Passover fell on the Thursday and was followed by the days of unleavened bread as found in Leviticus:
In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’S passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.” ~ Leviticus 23:5-7
Editor’s Note: Now that you see that the Passover was on a Thursday, the age-old Pascha-Passover controversy has also been solved. In the King James Bible, Acts 12:4 uses the word “Easter” instead of the word “Pascha,” which means Passover. Which is precisely what Luke was referring to, the pagan holiday of Easter on that Saturday, and not the Jewish Passover which had already finished. Acts 12:3 says that Peter was taken during the “days of unleavened bread,” right?
And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)” ~ Acts 12:3
Well, I just showed you that according to the Old Testament, the “days of unleavened bread” came after the Passover. So in Acts 12:4, Luke rightly records it as being Easter and not the Passover which had already expired. (See how simple it is when you actually believe what you read where you read it?). Now, let’s get back to those 3 days and 3 nights.

He Arose!

Remember now, in the week Jesus was crucified there are two sabbath days, not only one. You have the high Sabbath day on Thursday, which was the Passover. And you have the regular Sabbath day which fell on Saturday as they do each week at the end of the week. Mark records it this way:
And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.” ~ Mark 16:1, 2
When the ladies brought the spices, it was after the High Sabbath day of Passover. It was not after the regular Sabbath day on Saturday. They brought the spices on Friday. The first day of the week is not Monday, but rather it’s Sunday.

Saturday being the last day of the week, the day God rested from all His labors. So as the two Marys coming to see the body and mourn at sunrise Jesus was not “rising”, but rather had already risen.
And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.”
A Quick Review Of The Timeline
Jesus crucified on the cross 9:00 A.M Wednesday morning
Taken down off the cross at sundown
Buried for 3 nights – Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Passover, the high Sabbath day on Thursday
Buried for 3 days – Thursday, Friday and Saturday
The regular Saturday sabbath day
Jesus rose from the grave Saturday night at 6:00 P.M. – the start of the first day of the week, Sunday
Tomb is empty before the sun rises on Sunday when people start arriving
Now we have the fulfillment of Jesus’ prophecy to be ” in the heart of the earth” for “3 days and 3 nights”. The Roman Catholic timeline is short by nearly two full days, because they fail to see the two Sabbath days that occurred. They only see the one on Saturday. They also fail to understand the Jewish calendar and how their days were set up according to Genesis 1. When you realize that at 6:00 P.M. the current day ends and the new one starts, that changes just about everything when you’re trying to make a timeline. How can your timeline be right when you don’t even know what time it is?

So while you [spent Friday] observing “Good Friday,” just keep in mind that [you had] already missed the day of His passion by two whole days. That is, if you’re a bible believer. » Article
