Though discovered more than a decade ago, the pool of Siloam continues to make headlines, most recently in an analysis by author and speaker Eric Metaxas.

In John 9, Jesus spat in the dirt, rubbed the mud on a blind man's eyes and then commanded him to go wash in the Pool of Siloam.

Workers stumbled upon this very pool in 2005 while repairing sewage pipes.

"Scholars have said that there wasn't a Pool of Siloam and that John was using a religious conceit" to illustrate a point, New Testament scholar James H. Charlesworth told the Los Angeles Times. "Now we have found the Pool of Siloam ... exactly where John said it was."

The site of Jesus' miracle is just one of many in archaeological discoveries verifying the authenticity of the Bible.

The news isn't so much in the discovery, but in what the site stands for, Metaxas says.

"The point is that it's become increasingly clear that the default scholarly position of disbelieving the Bible because it is the Bible is untenable," Metaxas writes. "Of course, Christians should already know that. But it's still gratifying to see that other people are able to see it, as well. Even if they have to go to the Pool of Siloam to do it."

Wheaton College placed a political science professor on administrative leave after she claimed Muslims and Christians worshipped the same God.

"In response to significant questions regarding the theological implications of statements that Associate Professor of Political Science Dr. Larycia Hawkins has made about the relationship of Christianity to Islam, Wheaton College has placed her on administrative leave, pending the full review to which she is entitled as a tenured faculty member," reads the statement from the college.

Hawkins first made headlines earlier this week when she asked for her social media followers to join her in "Advent worship" by wearing a hijab to stand in solidarity with Muslim brothers and sisters.

Hawkins responded to her critics through Facebook, posting a link titled "Do Christians and Muslims Worship the Same God?"

"Since I recently embarked on ‪#‎embodiedsolidarity‬ with women who wear the hijab (‪#‎wish‬), I've received pushback almost exclusively from other Christians," Hawkins begins. "The pushback has primarily centered on the claim that Christians and Muslims worship the same God. In the spirit of the unity of what Christians term the body of Christ, I would like to respond—but will not reply to comments on an internecine dispute that arose rather recently in the history of the church.

"... Whether or not you find this position, one held for centuries by countless Christians (church fathers, saints, and regular Christian folk like me), to be valid, I trust that we can peacefully disagree on theological points and affirm others like the Triune God (albeit there are differences here as well—Athanasian Creed, anyone?), the virgin birth (or Immaculate Conception depending on your persuasion), and the Resurrection. Let there be unity in our diversity of views about all of the above,” Hawkins continued.

Wheaton, however, maintains faculty must represent the college's Statement of Faith when engaging in public issues.

Evangelist Franklin Graham sounded off on the issue on social media, as well:

THE GOD OF ISLAM DOESN’T HAVE A SON, AND EVEN THE THOUGHT OF THAT WOULD BE SACRILEGIOUS TO MUSLIMS.

THE GOD OF THE BIBLE SENT HIS SON TO EARTH TO DIE IN OUR PLACE AND SAVE US FROM OUR SINS. THE GOD OF ISLAM REQUIRES YOU TO DIE FOR HIM TO BE SURE THAT YOU’RE GOING TO HEAVEN.

As the moon shines red for the fourth time since April 2014, even those not typically associated with prophetic circles are wondering if we've reached the end.

"The night of Sept. 27-28 will bring a 'blood moon,'" writes CNN's Todd Leopold. "To skywatchers, it simply refers to the copper color the moon takes on during an eclipse, but to some Christian ministers, the fourth and final eclipse in a tetrad—four consecutive total lunar eclipses, each separated by six lunar months—fulfills biblical prophecy of the apocalypse."

CNN cites the rise in popularity of Hagee's book Four Blood Moons, and the subsequent documentary as the sudden fascination with the tetrad of lunar eclipses.

Leopold and Hagee aren't the only ones examining the sky and Scriptures.

"There are many that dismiss the blood moon phenomenon, but we have seen similar patterns before," writes Michael Snyder, the publisher of the Economic Collapse Blog. "For example, a similar pattern of eclipses happened just before and just after the destruction of the Jewish temple by the Romans in A.D. 70."

According to earthsky.org, though, the phenomenon isn't necessarily associated with destruction. The site lists eight tetrad lunar eclipses that also fell within the Jewish festival time frame:

1. 162-163 C.E. [or B.C., Before Christ]
2. 795-796 C.E.
3. 842-843 C.E.
4. 860-861 C.E.
5. 1493-1494 C.E.
6. 1949-1950 C.E.
7. 1967-1968 C.E.
8. 2014-2015 C.E.

Even NASA got in on the end-time game, sending out a press release about potential asteroids hitting the earth based on Internet rumors of destruction.

"If there were any object large enough to do that type of destruction in September, we would have seen something of it by now," Paul Chodas says. Chados is the manager of NASA's Near-Earth Object office. "There is no scientific basis—not one shred of evidence—that an asteroid or any other celestial object will impact Earth on those dates."

While the sky comparisons might end there, CNN's Leopold also noted how men and women across the globe are aligning the stock market crash late last month with other end-time prophecies.

Jessilyn Justice, Charisma News — We already know that President Barack Obama had his own agenda when visiting Africa the last few weeks.

Despite requests from African presidents begging the U.S. politician to not discuss gay marriage, he pushed the issue anyway.

Obama even joked about taking a third term as president, which some are convinced he could do through martial law.

But now, a new video showing Obama landing in Kenya reveals something quite disturbing: A gray figure rushing by.

Author and evangelist Perry Stone took to Periscope to explain how he's also dealt with flashes that appear when recording a video.

"There are things that show up when you take a picture at times, and I'm not trying to be weird or goofy here," Stone says.

Stone doesn't want to sensationalize or read into what could be a technical glitch, a bug or out-of-focus person, but he's curious about what's going on. Cameras today, he says, can pick up light-sensitive things that someone standing right there can miss.

When footage is slowed down frame-by-frame, viewers can see what the eye missed before recording.

“(The blur) doesn't mean he’s possessed, that doesn’t mean there’s a demon on him or anything like that, but there are spirits on that part of Africa,” Stone says.
