BRITISH SUPREME COURT FINDS CHRISTIAN BED AND BED BREAKFAST OWNERS GUILTY OF HOMOSEXUAL DISCRIMINATION

News From An Uncompromising
Biblical Worldview

Heather Clark, Christian News Network — (LONDON) The five justices of the British Supreme Court have ruled against the Christian owners of a UK bed and breakfast for declining to allow two men to sleep together because they are homosexual.

As previously reported, Peter and Hazelmary Bull have placed the Chymorvah Hotel on the market as they state that circumstances have devastated their business and lives.

“In 2013, two people who worked all their lives at this have ended up cold and hungry. It’s not right,” Hazelmary told the Daily Mail. “This is like a death in the family. I never thought it would end like this. We are not facing the future with any real enthusiasm.”

The situation occurred in 2008, when Martyn Hall and Steven Preddy reserved a double room, but was turned away by the manager when he discovered they were homosexuals. Chymorvah Hotel does not allow unmarried couples–homosexual or heterosexual–to share a room.

“Please note that as Christians we have a deep regard for marriage (being the union of one man to one woman for life to the exclusion of all others),” the business website states. “Therefore, although we extend to all a warm welcome to our home, our double bedded accommodation is not available to unmarried couples.”

However, after Hall and Preddy were turned away, the Bulls found themselves having to face a legal battle in court. They were ordered by the Bristol County Court to pay restitution to the men in the amount of $2,900 each, and also racked up a considerable bill in legal fees.

After losing in appeals court, they appealed the case to the Supreme Court in hopes of having the ruling overturned and the order to pay damages annulled. However, on Wednesday, the court sided with Hall and Preddy, stating that because the men were in a civil partnership, they should have had the same–or similar–protections as if they were married.

“Marriage and civil partnership exist both to recognise and to encourage stable, committed, long-term relationships. It is very much in the public interest that intimate relationships be conducted in this way,” the justices stated. ”Now that, at long last, same-sex couples can enter into a mutual commitment which is the equivalent of marriage, the suppliers of goods, facilities and services should treat them in the same way.”

The court also noted that the case served as ”a measure of how far we have come in the recognition of same-sex relationships.”

However, the Bulls expressed disappointment over the ruling, stating that they found it ironic that while homosexuals are protected by the courts, Christians are discriminated against and treated as second-class citizens.

“Obviously, we are deeply disappointed and saddened by the outcome. We’re just ordinary Christians who believe in the importance of marriage as the union of one man and one woman,” they stated. “Britain ought to be a country of freedom and tolerance, but it seems religious beliefs must play second fiddle to the new orthodoxy of political correctness.”

“Somehow, we have got to find a way of allowing different beliefs to coexist in our society,” the Bulls said. “The judges sidestepped that big issue and reinforced the notion that gay rights must trump everything else.”

Similar rulings are occurring in the United States as a number of florists, bakers, hotel owners and photographers have been declared guilty of discrimination for operating their business in accordance with their Christian values. » Full Article

‘MY DADDY MY HERO’: THIS PHOTO OF BUTCHERED U.K. SOLDIER LEE RIGBY’S 2-YEAR-OLD SON AT HIS FUNERAL WILL SHATTER YOUR HEART

The Funeral Of A British Soldier Killed
In Broad Daylight By Islamic Extremists

Jason Howerton, TheBlaze/AP (London)— British Prime Minister David Cameron joined thousands of mourners Friday at the funeral of a British soldier killed in broad daylight by Islamic extremists.

Lee Rigby, 25, was hacked to death May 22 on a London street near his army barracks. The killing shocked Britain and much of the world.

On Friday, Rigby’s family and mourners were greeted with applause by members of the public lining the streets outside Bury Parish Church in northwest England, where soldiers from Rigby’s Royal Regiment of Fusiliers had maintained an honor guard overnight.

The soldier’s widow, Rebecca, walked into the church with the couple’s 2-year-old son Jack, who wore a T-shirt bearing the words “My Daddy My Hero.” Rigby’s parents and sisters were in tears.

Here is the heart-breaking photo of the young boy who lost his father:

London Mayor Boris Johnson was among the public officials in attendance.

The service was private, in keeping with the family’s wishes, but broadcast on loudspeakers to well-wishers packing the street outside the church.

Rigby’s commanding officer, Lt. Col. Jim Taylor, described the soldier as “extremely popular” and “truly charismatic,” telling mourners the man known to friends as “Riggers” loved to perform.

“To be with Lee was to be where it was most fun – the center of good times and much mischief,” Taylor said in a eulogy. “People fell quickly under his spell. Whether it was in work or off duty, at a ceremonial engagement or on operations, Lee just knew how to lighten the mood. He could brighten a room within moments and, by all accounts, clear a dance floor in seconds, if a Whitney Houston track was playing.”

Rebecca Rigby had earlier expressed gratitude for the “overwhelming” outpouring of support following the attack.

“There are so many kind and generous people out there,” she said in a pool interview ahead of the funeral. “It’s just horrible that it takes something such as this to make you see how many good people there are.”

Rigby’s death caused a spike in racial tensions in Britain due to the apparent involvement of religious extremists. Police reported an increase in attacks against Muslim mosques and community centers in the subsequent weeks.

The two men charged in relation to Rigby’s killing – Michael Adebolajo, 28, and Michael Adebowale, 22 – are due to stand trial starting Nov. 18. » Full Article

ISLAMIC JIHAD, ISLAMIC JIHAD!: MICHELLE MALKIN RIPS PROGRESSIVES, CLASHES WITH LIB RADIO HOST OVER ISLAMIC TERRORISM AND THE LONDON MACHETE/CLEAVER ATTACK

“Political correctness in so many ways has been a hand-maiden
of Islamic terrorism, not only in this country but in many
PC-countries around the world.”

Billy Hallowell, TheBlaze — Conservative commentator Michelle Malkin had some tough words for British progressives during an on-air debate last night with television host Sean Hannity and liberal radio personality Leslie Marshall. In discussing the horrific machete attack that left one man dead in London yesterday, Malkin blamed liberals, in part, for facilitating an environment that allows these attacks to occur.

The popular commentator also clashed with Marshall over liberals’ purported misuse of semantics when discussing acts of terrorism.

The discussion began with Malkin decrying political correctness and praising British Prime Minister David Cameron for calling the attack an act of terror — something she said that the Obama administration has been remiss to do in the past.

“Political correctness in so many ways has been a hand-maiden of Islamic terrorism, not only in this country but in many PC-countries countries around the world,” she said. “I’m glad that David Cameron spoke bluntly about it, because what do you need to have — neon lights that say, 'ISLAMIC JIHAD, ISLAMIC JIHAD!'”

Malkin went on to stress the importance of calling terror attacks what they are. The discussion took a turn, though, when she accused British progressives of complicity in the extremist attacks that are unfolding in England. She called the failure on the part of liberals to enact tough policies “tragic.”

“Unfortunately, in British culture, among the progressives there, they’ve brought it on themselves in some ways, because of lax deportation policies — an unwillingness to screen out and profile Islamic militants who are now doing this in a homegrown manner on British soil,” Malkin said.

And that’s when Marshall chimed in to respond to these claims.

“Michelle, I really think that it’s terrible for anybody to say that any political group in Great Britain or here brought murder upon ourselves. Murderers are murderers. These people are murderers,” she responded, going on to dismiss semantic differences, later saying, “What’s the difference between a mass murderer and a terrorist?”

Malkin, clearly frustrated by Marshall’s question, said that the liberal radio host sounded like Hillary Clinton (she even mimicked Clinton’s “What difference does it make?” question from her Benghazi testimony).

The fiery conversation continued, with the conservative commentator claiming that the left plays word games when it comes to Islamic violence. » Full Article
