Defund Obamacare And Kill It,

J.D. Longstreet, Right Side News — A big, nasty, battle is coming up. It will involve republicans against democrats and republicans against republicans.

We are coming hard up against either stopping Obamacare or having it as a part of US law for, well, FOREVER!

Ronald Reagan once said: "The nearest thing to eternal life we will ever see on this earth is a government program."
How right he was! (In more ways than one!)

Once Obamacare is up and running, full time, it will NEVER BE CUT from the Law Books of the nation. Never.

"NO federal program ever gets eliminated once it is put into place. NO federal program ever suffers an absolute real cut from this year's levels because of baseline budgeting (which always projects an overall increase of at least the expected inflation rate plus 1%-2% in future overall growth in federal spending)." As soon as our national lawmakers return to Washington, after their August recess, they will begin the debate over funding the government, keeping it open and operational.

The debate will provide an opportunity to defund Obamacare -- and kill it, or do nothing and have it kill the US.

If you are a regular reader of this scribe's rants then you know I have been against Obamacare long before it was ever introduced into a congressional hopper as a bill. If it is possible, I am even MORE against it today.

Anything that has to do with socialism is anathema to me. And Obamacare is nothing more than socialized medicine which will destroy this country.

Sen. Ted Cruz, a republican from Texas, is urging conservatives to join a petition drive to defund Obamacare, calling it the last chance to stop the national health-care plan before it goes into effect on January 1st of next year.

Here's what Senator Cruz said recently: “On Jan. 1, the exchanges kick in and the subsidies kick in. Once those kick in, it’s going to prove almost impossible to undo Obamacare. The administration’s plan is very simple: Get everyone addicted to the sugar so that Obamacare remains a permanent feature of our society.” SOURCE

In the same speech, Senator Cruz went on to say: “Right now we don’t have the votes. Right now we’re not even close. There’s only one way we’re going to get 41 Republicans in the Senate and 218 Republicans in the House of Representatives, which is if they hear from the American people in overwhelming numbers.” SOURCE

The Continuing Resolution to keep the government funded and running is scheduled to be voted on in September. The debate on it will begin next month when the August recess is over.

"Utah Senator Mike Lee along with Senators Ted Cruz of Texas and Rand Paul of Kentucky are currently trying to lead the effort to defund Obamacare in the upcoming Continuing Resolution by vowing not to vote for any CR or appropriations bill that provides funding for the much hated Obamacare. There are roughly a dozen Republican Senators and more than 60 members of the House who have signed on to the idea of not funding Obamacare in the Continuing Resolution scheduled to be voted on in September. They are willing to fully fund the rest of the federal government, just not Obamacare." SOURCE

North Carolina Senator Richard Burr who called the defunding of Obamacare effort, “the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard” last week.

The Hill has more:

“I think it’s the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard,” Burr told journalist Todd Zwilich on Thursday. “Listen, as long as Barack Obama is president the Affordable Care Act is gonna be law.

“I think some of these guys need to understand that you shut down the federal government, you better have a specific reason to do it that’s achievable,” Burr continued. “Defunding the Affordable Care Act is not achievable through shutting down the federal government.” SOURCE

You can easily see the politicos are much more concerned about saving their own backsides than in saving the country. Their political careers and the health of their political party is far more important to them than the welfare of the nation and its people.

We can all see now that when saving the country actually MIGHT cost them something, they shrink away from their duty. (I have already alerted my republican senator that he no longer has my support.)

We need to watch the upcoming debate closely and, in my opinion, we need to "primary" any republican who fails to back defunding Obamacare in the CR debate over the next few weeks. If they are NOT going to represent us, then we need to get them the heck out of Washington before they can do anymore damage -- or -- allow any more damage to be done. US Administration View on Christian-Muslim Conflict is Biased and Favors the Muslim Brotherhood as their actions prove

John Rossomando, IPT News — Discontent with the Obama administration's "abominable" policies toward Egypt among some of his leading supporters on Middle East issues took center stage Friday afternoon during a panel discussion sponsored by the Center for American Progress (CAP).

The program on "U.S. Engagement with the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood" featured James Zogby, founder and president of the Arab-American Institute; John Esposito, head of the Prince Alaweed bin Talal Center for Christian-Muslim Understanding at Georgetown University; and Michael Hanna, senior fellow at the Century Foundation.

Each expressed concern with the Muslim Brotherhood's rejection of women's rights, hostility and violence toward Egypt's Coptic Christian population, and repression of dissent and "incompetence" since the party came to power last year. This criticism is noteworthy given that each speaker admitted having had high hopes for the Brotherhood a year or more ago.

Egyptian human rights abuses have been so grave that even Esposito, one of the Brotherhood's most redoubtable defenders in America, took issue with the Obama administration's Egypt policy.

"The answer here is obvious," Esposito said when asked about last Sunday's siege of the Coptic Church's holiest cathedral by Islamic extremists and Egyptian riot police that left two dead and over 80 injured.

"The administration should be very strong in responding to that kind of incident because this is not an incident where we want to say that, 'Oh, we are not going to intervene in Egyptian politics,' where certain segments of the Egyptian population will say 'there goes the U.S. intervening.'" It should be met with very strong statements publicly, but also privately when talking about potential economic assistance."

Esposito's recommended course of action stood in opposition to the State Department's actual response at Monday's press briefing when acting spokesman Peter Ventrell called on "restraint from all sides" without acknowledging that the Islamists caused the siege.

CAP was founded by former Clinton Chief of Staff John Podesta in 2003 as a left of center answer to the conservative Heritage Foundation. The group has been extremely influential with the Obama administration and with Democrats in Congress.

Zogby suggested restructuring foreign aid to Egypt to be more sensitive to the facts on the ground rather than the United States locking itself an agreement that is difficult to change over the long-term. Such a change would give policy makers flexibility so aid to Egypt isn't handled in all-or-nothing terms.

"Our credibility has been compromised," Zogby said. "I think the way we handled the constitutional issue itself was abominable."

U.S. officials made clear what a constitution should include, yet did not follow through when the document failed to protect women and minorities.

"I can't believe that we did nothing with regard to the communities in Egypt that were going to be affected by that constitution and express that we were displeased by the direction."

The Brotherhood's rejection of equal status for women and the Copts, as well as its repression of opposition, have damaged its image, Zogby said.

"If they had pulled it off – if they had dialog after winning the parliamentary elections and not run for president and said, 'We are all in a deep crisis, and we've got to move forward in a collective manner to solve the problems facing our country,' I think 'Brand Brotherhood 'might be different," Zogby said. "But today 'Brand Brotherhood' is being tarnished."

Washington's hasty embrace of the Brotherhood in the wake of Mubarak's fall fit a long-standing reflex, Hanna said. For decades, "competent repression" has been the norm in the Middle East. That led many U.S. diplomats to view the Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party the same way it had viewed Mubarak's National Democratic Party.

"We go to the Muslim Brotherhood because they are the guys who are in charge, and that sends out its own set of signals to opposition Egyptians," Hanna said. "That was an assumption of Egyptian politics that I think is flawed in the sense that the Muslim Brotherhood is going to win elections.

"We need to be cautious in thinking that the Muslim Brotherhood is the new political equilibrium because you see a lot of dynamism."

Michael Meunier, president of Egypt's al Haya Party that is part of the opposition National Salvation Front in Egypt, praised the panelists for having a change of heart on the Brotherhood.

"I think it validates what we have been saying," Meunier told the Investigative Project on Terrorism. "The fact that the left started saying this proves we have not been exaggerating … what has been happening to us in Egypt from the Brotherhood rule."

The panelists' comments prove that the Obama administration has mishandled Egypt.

"It's very clear cut when it comes to our values," Meunier said. "We are giving up American values to support the Brotherhood." » Full Article

This week, the New York Daily News reported Islamic violence in Buena Vista, New Jersey: “Cops arrested Muslim Yusuf Ibrahim, 28, of Jersey City on Sunday after detectives found the bodies of the two men, aged 25 and 27, behind a home in Buena Vista Township. Their severed heads and hands were discovered at a separate burial site. The investigation into the grisly murder began Thursday following reports of suspicious activity at the Buena Vista home. Beheaded and Be-handed Two Christians In America

Police reported in New Jersey that Yusuf Ibrahim beheaded and be-handed two Coptic Christians after shooting them. He buried them in two separate graves in Buena Vista, New Jersey.

“It’s a shock, something like this doesn’t happen,” one resident said.

Pamela Geller, who blogs about Islam at Atlas Shrugs, said, “It appears to have been a ritual killing, religious in nature. The victims were Coptic Christians and the murderer was Muslim, and we are painfully aware of the status and treatment of Christians under Muslim rule in Egypt.”

The killings stem from Islamic law within the Quran: “When Allah was revealing to the angels, “I am with you; so confirm the believers. I shall cast into the unbelievers’ hearts terror; so cut above the necks, and cut every finger of them!” – Quran 8:12.”

At this time, America houses seven million Muslims. They already advocate for Sharia Law within America. As their numbers grow, they will implement it with the power of the vote. They continue practicing female genital mutilation, arranged marriages, multiple wives and subjugation of their women. Detroit, Michigan harbors massive Islamic cover-up of Muslim rituals. It’s become so isolated that no American law can be adjudicated. Detroit has become an Islamic country within our country.

Muslims Slowly And Methodically Overwhelm The Host Nation

Muhib Ru’yat al-Rahman, a senior writer of a leading jihadi forum called “Shumoukh al-Islam”, suggested, “Muslims living in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the U.S., must kill Westerners who criticize Islam, and display their decapitated heads along roads.”

One Muslim Dutch-Moroccan immigrant named Muhammad Bouyeri, killed Dutch film-maker Theo Van Gogh in 2004 over the production of “Submission,” a film criticizing Islam’s treatment of women. Dozens of forum members praised the action, expressing their agreement with the writer’s suggestions.

A majority of Americans lack any understanding or knowledge of the Muslim onslaught of much of Europe. Smaller countries like Belgium and Holland suffer complete displacement of their cultures, languages and people because Muslims out-breed them at an astounding rate of speed.

Norway houses four million people and Sweden less than five million citizens: both countries watch horrific upheaval of their laws, culture and language by Islamic immigrants. For example, 99 percent of rapes on Norwegian women stem from Muslim immigrant men. The United Kingdom and France experience similar consequences of mass Muslim immigration. To say that Islam remains a savage and barbaric religion in the 21st century can be seen as an understatement.

Annually in Islamic countries, Muslim fathers, husbands and brothers, following the edicts of the Koran, kill 5,000 women with impunity for “dishonoring” the family name. A woman might make a transgression by wearing jeans or she might attempt to gain an education or she might try to escape an arranged marriage because she just turned 11 years of age. Americans cannot grasp the savagery of the Koran and the men who follow it.

With the onslaught of “multiculturalism” into America from Islamic countries, Americans must ask themselves if they treasure women’s rights. Gays must ask if they stand a chance of living in Muslim dominated cities like Detroit, Michigan. Women must ask if they can dress, speak and travel on their own.

Everything about Islam contradicts everything about Western democracy, free speech, religious choice and women’s rights.

The Nation Still Awaits Explanation Of The Mysterious LA Missile Launch

Tom Snodgrass — The fact that the American people are being lied to concerning the motivation of the Islamic jihadists who attacked the U.S. diplomatic facilities in Benghazi and killed four Americans, the reason for the U.S. unpreparedness for the attack, and the governmental incompetence in responding to the attack is beyond question. However, this incompetence and mendacity is not the only incompetence and mendacity that the regime of President Obama is covering up. On November 9, 2010, a Los Angeles CBS news crew in a helicopter videotaped a flying object streaking off NW into the stratosphere leaving a contrail behind it with the exact profile of a ballistic missile after launch. The Obama regime denies that it was a missile.

Based on the location of the CBS helicopter, it is estimated that the missile launch occurred about 30-35 miles west of Los Angeles from a position in the Pacific Ocean north of Catalina Island.

Incompetence and "Spinning" Begin

Obviously this missile launch startled and alarmed the residents of Los Angeles who immediately began demanding an explanation from the U.S. Government. But the U.S. military officials were as mystified as the civilian populace.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is working with U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) to investigate the mystery launch. They issued the following statement:

NORAD and USNORTHCOM are aware of the unexplained contrail reported off the coast of Southern California yesterday evening. At this time, we are unable to provide specific details, but we are working to determine the exact nature of this event. We can confirm that there is no threat to our nation, and from all indications this was not a launch by a foreign military. We will provide more information as it becomes available.

In reaction to this NORAD statement, USAF Brigadier General Jim Cash (retired), who had served as NORAD's Assistant Director of Operations, issued this informed analysis of NORAD's statement:

"NORAD's first shot out of the barrel was "it" was not a threat to North America. That suggests to me that NORAD did in fact observe a missile launch and assessed that it was not a threat to the nation, as the trajectory was away from the mainland.

"There is an assessment process that occurs anytime NORAD observes a missile launch. Utilizing a set protocol, the team leader, who in the past was a Brig. General, assesses whether the launch is a threat to the North America. If assessed as a threat the commanding four- star General is called, who then contacts the President. This entire process must be completed in minimum time, as the President has only a short time himself to make a decision and implement his plan.

"This process is non-negotiable, and practiced so often it is a reflex.

"Now for the language they used, and why it's significant. When they said 'it was not a threat,' 'it' means they meant a missile. Had it been a plane, meteor, or something else, they would have identified it as such; they wouldn't have said 'it.'

"The next statement made by the Pentagon was even more telling. As reported by the media, the Pentagon announced they were going to do a missile count to make sure 'it' was not one of ours. They didn't say they were going to count planes, they said a 'missile count.' In my opinion that statement clearly acknowledged that 'it' was indeed a missile, and they were trying to figure out whose it was."

Not To Believe Their "Lying Eyes"

Since, if it wasn't one of ours, the logical conclusion was that it could be a foreign submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) that, in fact, would be a threat to the U.S., irrespective of the northwesterly course of the missile away from the U.S. This daring "warning missile shot across our bow" was and is a threat because of the nuclear attack danger that this decisively demonstrated foreign military capability portends for the future of American security. Consequently, the Pentagon and the Obama regime's media flacks immediately began to scramble for an explanation to deceive the country about the peril of what such an SLBM firing so close to the U.S. shore really means, and they spun a number of improbable theories and cover stories that the missile plume was a condensation trail from a jet aircraft, or that the missile was actually an amateur rocket, or it was an optical illusion.

The Obama regime was and is desperate to prevent the public from realizing that the event was actually a foreign SLBM because of the obvious implication that a foreign power can sail up to our coastline at will and fire a city-killing nuclear warhead into the heartland of America unchallenged by U.S. defenses. And, of course, there is the further political implication that Obama's drastic cutting of U.S. military force structure and defunding of vital national security programs is a terrible mistake in view of the strategic military threats posed by this dangerous world, including a growing Chinese SLBM force.

If the American public came to this alarming realization about Obama's irresponsible handling of national defense and made their concern known to the Congress, it could put Obama's out-of-control, domestic welfare spending programs in question and, therefore, in jeopardy. Hence, Obama had and has an overriding political interest in covering up the true nature of this uncontested foreign missile launch within sight of a major U.S. metropolitan center in order to continue to pour dollars borrowed from the Chinese into social welfare uninterrupted. Of course, the U.S. interest payments for this borrowed social welfare money has provided the Chinese with the extra capital to finance the annual 11 percent spending increase that the Chinese military has enjoyed for the past decade!

Chinese Jin Class SSBN and Chinese JL 2 SLBM

Military experts, including those from the authoritative British military publication, Jane's of London, and Japanese military intelligence, all believe that it was most likely a JL-2 SLBM, with a range of 7,000 miles, launched from a Chinese Jin-class Strategic Submarine, Ballistic, Nuclear (SSBN) undersea platform. The Jin SSBN most probably departed its homeport on Hainan Island, transited the South Pacific submerged, and turned north sailing undetected into the waters off of Los Angeles. The obvious Chinese politico-military objective in launching the JL-2 was a show of strategic might. Expert Opinion About The Danger

In the final analysis, whether or not Obama is guilty of criminally deceiving the American people about this serious lapse in U.S. defenses depends on accurate identification of what occurred in the skies over Los Angeles. In order to address that vital question, Fox News' Sean Hannity interviewed retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General Tom Mcinerney concerning his opinion.

"Sean Hannity began the interview by saying that the official statement by the Pentagon is that the object was a plane, and that he was willing to entertain that assertion.

"However, Retired Air Force Lt. General Tom Mcinerney, with no reservations stated that this object was clearly a missile saying:

" 'Well first of all, I do not agree with the assertion Sean. And your question is, we should get a definitive answer. You're absolutely correct. Look, this is not an airplane because of the plume, and the way you see that plume. Airplanes do not con [maneuver] at sea level or 5000 ft like that. I spent 35 yrs flying fighters, and I never saw an airplane con like that. That is a missile – it's launched from a submarine, and you can see it go through a correction course, and then it gives a very smooth trajectory meaning that the guidance system has now kicked in, it's going at about a 45 degrees away from you that's why you're not seeing a lot of vertical velocity.'

"When Sean interrupted Lt. Mcinerney, asking: 'are you 100% certain?' Mcinerney answered with 100% conviction:

'Sean... I've watched that film 10 times, I've watched 15 other Trident films, SM 3.. Standard missile threes, and T Lam launches.... I am absolutely certain that that is not an aircraft.'

"This statement by Lt. General Mcinerney appears to agree with the report by Wayne Madsen where he reports that missile experts say the plume was definitely from a missile, (most likely a JL-2 ICBM) and that it was probably launched from a Chinese Jin class submarine."

Conclusion 

Obama's Democrat presidential predecessor, Lyndon B. Johnson, had big problems with a national security "credibility gap" caused by his reflexive dishonesty concerning the war in Vietnam. When Obama's undeniable dishonesty about "Benghazi-gate" is paired with this similarly undeniable dishonesty about "missile-gate," it appears that the American people are confronted with another LBJ-type national security "credibility gap." J.D. Longstreet, Right Side News — I sometimes think man is the stupidest creature God ever created. In fact, God, Himself, repented that he made man and wiped everyone out -- save for Noah and his family -- in the Biblical story of the Great Flood.

As I look about me, at the awful mess we have made of everything, I have to wonder why God didn't just knock a hole in the bottom of the Ark and finish the job.

It is said that even the angels are puzzled over God's love for mere mortals. They, too, were created by the same God, and created before man. But even with their seniority, they fall into second place, behind man, in God's favor. They MUST be frustrated.

Man is most certainly the most arrogant of all God's creations, bar none! Since shortly after our creation, we have been trying every way we an think of to deny the existence of our Creator. It doesn't work, of course. It just makes us look even more stupid -- devoid of good sense OR judgment.

We have tried to elevate ourselves to "godhood" with only minimal effect. We can actually get people to worship us IF those people are even more stupid they we. Not to mention, those worshipers have a tendency to murder a would-be god when they discover the wannabe god is, in fact, NOT a god, at all.

Human beings worshiped by other human beings only leads to trouble -- BIG trouble.

Many of you will recognize the above as The Apostle's Creed: "The Symbolum Apostolorum" was developed between the second and ninth centuries. It is the most popular creed used in worship by Western Christians. Its central doctrines are those of the Trinity and God the Creator. It has been called the "Creed of Creeds."

Our belief is FAITH and faith is the belief in things not seen. Nowhere in the creed above does it say: "I KNOW." It says: "I BELIEVE."

As long as there are believers there will be non-believers. Man is a free agent. God granted us the right to be stupid and reject his offer of beneficence.

I am under no illusion that my scribbling here will change any minds. That is not my intention. I am a commentator. I comment on the passing scene and, most often, it is the passing scene in which I am caught up.

I mentioned man's inherent stupidity above. All the evidence one needs to support my accusation of man's inferior intellect is the continuing quarrel amongst us over abortion.

I believe abortion is wrong, quite likely a sin, and unquestionably homicide. My position is based on my faith.

I can accept abortion in cases of rape, incest, and in cases where the life of the mother is at risk. Even then, I feel a heavy guilt that the life of a child is required to spare the life of an adult, or to make amends for a cruel act imposed on one adult by another. There is something intrinsically wrong about all those choices. I cannot escape my conscience.

Look. There is no way to approach the issue in the public forum without pain. It simply cannot be done. In my opinion, abortion should never have been introduced into the public forum, and most certainly not in the aggressive manner some abortion supporting organizations have chosen.

To demand that a person of faith pay for the commission of what they believe is a sin by another person is itself the highest form of sin there is. It is forcing a person to commit sin by supporting another in the commission of a sin. I am given to understand there is a special place in the afterlife for those who indulge in such fist-shaking in the face of God.

[...] Having abortion laws interwoven into the fabric of America's code of justice only insures it will continue to divide Americans. It will bring shame to some. It will enrage others. Some will be genuinely perplexed -- but only a few.

The issue of whether abortion is right or wrong, moral or immoral, a sin or not, has now been graven on our collective conscience, and on our hearts. It is indelible. Such is the power of any debate relating to the life and death of a child.

The moment we chose to impose government mandated payment for abortions a part of America's heart was ripped open. We have only now begun to realize there is more than one way to "pay" for abortions. We are paying as a nation and we will continue to pay as our national pain grows more intense.

There simply is no justification for taking the lives of millions of babies. Their blood stains us all with stains that cannot be cleansed and will not fade. Such is the value of a single child's life, let alone the lives of millions of children not allowed to live and love among us.
