Killed 123 ISIS Fighters In Their Retaliation
Israel Today Staff — The Islamic State (ISIS) organization launched an offensive against Egyptian security forces on Wednesday killing dozens. The fighting which is now in the third day is the largest battles that have taken place in the Sinai peninsula since the 1973 Yom Kippur war. The IS caught the Egyptian forces in north-western Sinai off guard with their surprise attack carrying out a well coordinated simultaneous attack on 15 posts and centers of the Egyptian security forces in northern Sinai.
In addition the, IS used sophisticated and modern weapons in their attacks. It was previously unknown that the IS fighters had the types of weapons at their disposal. Egypt quickly received clearance from Israel to move additional weapons, including tanks armored personnel carriers, Apache helicopters and F-16 fighter jets, into the Sinai.
The battles taking place between the Egyptian army and the ISIS fighters could also develop into rocket and mortar fire towards Israel, and the Central Command is preparing for that too. In the meantime, it seems that the IS fighters are busy battling the Egyptian army, which is attacking them from the air and from the ground, but the heightened state of alert on the Israeli side will likely continue for a few more days, as experience shows that ISIS will try to create provocations on the border with Israel in a bid to cause a friction between the IDF and the Egyptian army and affect the relationship between Egypt and Israel.
By Thursday night, Egypt had reported that they had killed 123 IS fighters in their retaliation.
In the initial attacks, the IS gained control of tanks and armored vehicles which quickly had Israel raising the level of readiness on the Sinai border fearing that these vehicles could be used in attacks on Israel herself. Highway 12, which runs mostly along the Egyptian border, has been closed to civilian traffic until further notice. The IDF quickly shut off all Sinai crossings and alerted all the communities along the border with Egypt, especially in its northwestern part to stay alert. The IDF has also reinforced the presence of armored vehicles on the ground and unmanned aircraft monitoring events near the border. The IDF has increased helicopter and fighter jet patrols along the border.

My favorite expression about Barack Obama is “Everything is calculated.” I read comments and commentaries about how inept he is — that he does not know what he is doing. Ha! Obama knows exactly what he’s doing.
Remember when BHO went on the apology tour right after he was elected in 2008? Remember when he told world leaders that America had been involved in too many countries affairs and deserved the name “The world’s policeman?”
How in the world do you think that the so-called Arab Spring came about? Obama was a major player in this, and his Puppetmaster, George Soros, supplied the money. The plan was to destabilize the Middles East, and rid the Arabic countries of their secular governments, and replace them with the Muslim Brotherhood. That was the plan.
His diabolical plan backfired in Egypt. Not only was his great buddy, Mohamed Morsi, ousted, but he was incarcerated in 2012. He still sits in a jail cell to this day.
Egypt also jailed many members of the Muslim Brotherhood, and made it a crime to be part of this terrorist organization. Think about this: Obama has hosted the Muslim Brotherhood in the White House on several occasions. He has not hidden this from the press.

History of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt (1939-1954)
Links to the Nazis began during the 1930s and were close during the Second World War, involving agitation against the British, espionage and sabotage, as well as support for terrorist activities orchestrated by Haj Amin el-Hussaini in British Mandate Palestine, as a wide range of declassified documents from the British, American and Nazi German governmental archives, as well as from personal accounts and memoires from that period, confirm. Reflecting this connection the Muslim Brotherhood also disseminated Hitler’s Mein Kampf and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion widely in Arab translations, helping to deepen and extend already existing hostile views about Jews and Western societies generally.
In November 1948 police seized an automobile containing the documents and plans of what is thought to be the Brotherhood’s `secret apparatus` with names of its members. The seizure was preceded by an assortment of bombings and assassination attempts by the apparatus. Subsequently 32 of its leaders were arrested and its offices raided. The next month the Egyptian Prime Minister, Mahmud Fahmi Nokrashi, ordered the dissolution of the Brotherhood.
On December 28, 1948 Egypt’s prime minister was assassinated by Brotherhood member and veterinary student Abdel Meguid Ahmed Hassan, in what is thought to have been retaliation for the government crackdown. A month and half later Al-Banna himself was killed in Cairo by men believed to be government agents and/or supporters of the murdered premier. Al-Banna was succeeded as head of the Brotherhood by Hassan Isma’il al-Hudaybi, a former judge.
In 1952, members of the Muslim Brotherhood are accused of taking part in arson that destroyed some “750 buildings” in downtown Cairo — mainly night clubs, theatres, hotels, and restaurants frequented by British and other foreigners — “that marked the end of the liberal, progressive, cosmopolitan” Egypt.
The Brotherhood supported the military coup that overthrew the monarchy in 1952, but the junta was unwilling to share power or lift martial law and clashed with the Brotherhood. [2] – source

The Obama Administration Has Issued
An Open Rebuke To The Nation Of Egypt
For Their Attack On ISIS
NTEB News Desk —This week in Washington, DC, Barack Obama in convening his Summit on Countering Violent Extremism at the White House. It will discuss the worldwide threat posed by violent extremists, but what it will not do is to connect “violent extremism” with Islam in any way, shape or form.
President Barack Obama and his staff have gone to lengths to avoid characterizing the ideology driving Islamic State and other terrorist groups as religious extremism. The semantic exercise is intended to avoid legitimizing acts of terror as expressions of religious belief. It’s also part of a strategy to draw in the domestic Muslim leaders who Obama is leaning on to identify and isolate potentially violent extremists.
“For us, terminology is very, very important,” said Riham Osman, spokeswoman for the Muslim Public Affairs Council, one of the groups participating in the three-day conference. “Using words like ‘radical Islam,’ we believe is actually hurting the cause.”
“The words ‘radical Islamic terrorism’ do not come out of the president’s mouth,”Senator Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican, said at the Center for Security Policy last week. “That is dangerous.”
Obama Slams Egypt For Attacking ISIS
The Obama administration issued an open rebuke to the nation of Egypt for their attack on ISIS just hours after the gruesome beheading deaths of 21 Christians.
The United States does not support Egyptian and Emirati airstrikes against Islamist militias in Libya because the U.S. believes the crisis in Libya must be resolved politically and without outside interference, a Department of Defense spokesman said Tuesday.
Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) carrying out airstrikes in Libya was different from U.S. airstrikes against Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant forces in Iraq, Pentagon spokesman Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby told a briefing, because the U.S. was acting in Iraq, in a “very targeted” manner, at the request of its government.

Dr. Ashraf Ramelah, Israel Today — Just one month before the Paris massacre of the staff at Charlie Hebdo, the prestigious Sunni Muslim Al-Azhar Institute organized and held a conference at its headquarters in Cairo to address worldwide terrorism.
The conference was entitled, "Al-Azhar in the face of extremism and terrorism." After two full days of discourse focused on the ISIS terror group, Al-Azhar concluded with a statement aligned with an earlier one made by US President Barack Obama: ISIS is not Islamic. The President saw fit to omit this opinion from his subsequent speech at the UN, but Al-Azhar is sticking to it.
Al-Azhar religious scholars (an autonomous body separate from the state, but financed by taxpayers) form the center for Koranic interpretation and spiritual guidance to the largest Muslim sect in the world, the Sunnis, estimated at one billion believers -- 80 percent of the worldwide Muslim community. If the religion of Islam were governed by a hierarchy of leadership, Al-Azhar would surely be its head.
Renowned for its doctrinal instruction to imams and its slightest pronouncement (fatwa) obeyed by Muslim followers, Al-Azhar wields a subtle but powerful authority over Muslim believers. Its influence over the West’s perception of Islam is as great. In this capacity, Al-Ahzar has the power to significantly contribute to the eradication of Muslim violence around the world. But instead, what has its impact been as spiritual head with a state role?
Unlike the American president, Al-Azhar would not condemn ISIS when put to the test. Surely, if Al-Azhar posited that ISIS terror is Islamic then a denunciation of ISIS actions would be a condemnation of its own doctrine. But, if ISIS terror is not Islam as Al-Azhar proclaims what is the harm done with condemning it? This contradiction alone clues us in on a leadership that is allowing if not fostering crimes against humanity.
This ambiguity coming from the reverential summit of Islamic scholarship transmits confusion and inauthenticity to the West which seeks to find a benign Islam to tolerate. Al-Azhar’s unwillingness to clarify Islam in relation to current realities and the relative terms sought to define them – Islam, Islamist, Islamic terror, terror, Islamic extremism, extremism, etc. – is suspicious at best.
No matter how many millions march for “freedom and tolerance” in Paris little will change without Al-Azhar -- the preeminent Islamic authority -- making clear, concise statements to properly identify and condemn violence by Muslims. It could begin by reversing a silence dating back to its 880 AD origins regarding Muslim attacks on the Coptic Christians. This Cairo institute has never condemned the violence or the propaganda of Muslims against Christians within its own state. Tragically, this lack of responsibility has advanced jihad throughout the state and the world.
Al-Azhar excluded Jews from this worldwide summit on terrorism. Its failure to invite synagogues and Jewish leaders was not disguised by its otherwise inclusiveness. Joining the Egyptian Mufti, Dr. Shawki Allam, Al-Azhar University chairman and deputy, and six hundred Muslim scholars (including those of minor sects) from 120 countries were heads of the Eastern Orthodox churches, including Egyptian Copts, and Vatican representatives. Protestant denominations from the West were present, and speakers from communities persecuted by terror groups (Pakistan, Syria, and others) attended.
Did this important conference at the heart of Sunni-Muslim religious learning hold the least promise for genuine examination of worldwide terror? Not really.
We’ve seen Al-Azhar fail to denounce Muslim Brotherhood members as terrorists when the pro-democracy presidency of Al Sisi banned the organization from Egypt last year. Also, the Grand Mufti of Al-Azhar, who is required by law to confirm or deny death sentences issued by the Egyptian courts, reversed the death penalty of Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohammed Badie and others -- all convicted murderers.
So far, the Sunni authority of Al-Ahzar has placed itself at odds with Muslims in the Egyptian streets and the rest of the modern world presumably in order to remain true to Islamic doctrine.
Former Muslim Brotherhood Member Now Peace Activist
By Ben Barrack, Shoebat Foundation — Political battle lines between the Egyptian government led by el-Sisi and the Barack Obama administration, which leads the U.S., have been drawn. A major salvo was fired on January 1st, when Egyptian president, Gen. Abdel Fatah el-Sisi admonished Islamic scholars at al-Azhar University. As Shoebat.com reported, this was a brazen statement against Barack Obama himself, who nearly six years earlier launched his pro-Muslim Brotherhood / pro-Arab Spring agenda in a speech at that very same university.
In many ways, what el-Sisi did to Obama from a podium at al-Azhar was the political equivalent of what he did by leading the overthrow of Mohammed Mursi in 2013. It was also a speech that created pro-Obama and pro-Sisi camps by providing a stark contrast to the Obama ideology that western leaders like Cameron of the UK, Hollande of France and Merkel of Germany have not.
Days later, on January 7th, it was events that provided even more contrast as Muslim terrorists in Paris murdered people in cold blood for their speech. Western leaders send muddled messages instead of clear ones. The best example can be seen in the much ballyhooed Paris march on January 11th that included Cameron, Hollande and Merkel showing solidarity with Mahmoud Abbas and Turkey’s Ahmet Davutoglu.
Normally reliable conservative Newt Gingrich attempted to put his finger on the problem by going after Obama for not attending the Paris rally. Gingrich concluded Obama is either cowardly or crazy. Neither is correct; Obama is pro-Muslim Brotherhood because his family is part of the organization and Egyptians are the only ones who have been so vocal about this; they also have the proof.
As Shoebat.com reported, western leaders were standing with terrorist-supporting leaders like Turkey’s Davutoglu. Conversely, when it comes to el-Sisi, the Egyptian leader is quite forcefully taking out terrorists. Many of the Muslim Brotherhood leaders who’ve escaped Egypt have found safe haven in Davutoglu’s Turkey.
The Obama administration has been playing nice with the el-Sisi regime for more than a year despite having significant problems with the Egyptian leader. This is reflected in the appointment of R. Stephen Beecroft as the U.S. Ambassador to Egypt; this was not Obama’s first choice. The man expected to replace the clearly Muslim Brotherhood-friendly Anne Patterson was Robert Ford, the former U.S. Ambassador to Syria.
As Shoebat.com has reported previously, Ford’s allegiances are disconcerting as he has supported Islamist rebels in Syria with clear allegiances to the Brotherhood. He clearly did not pass the smell test with the el-Sisi government and was rejected as a suitable ambassador not by Obama but by Egypt. Again, this was a clear rejection of the Muslim Brotherhood, not just the U.S. and again, muddled messages continue to be sent from American politicians in Congress who bizarrely support Syria’s rebels.
Last February, Reuters reported on some ‘inside baseball’ about why Ford is not now the U.S. Ambassador to Egypt:
Ford had been expected to become U.S. ambassador to Egypt, according to several sources, but Egyptian government officials had objected because they regarded him as too close to Islamist parties in the Middle East.
A former State Department official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said it was his understanding that the Egyptian government had made clear it did not want Ford to go to Cairo to serve as U.S. ambassador.
Under diplomatic practice known as “agreement,” a country typically contacts another country before sending an ambassador to ensure the choice is acceptable. In this case, Ford’s candidacy did not even get that far, said the former U.S. official, who has spoken to Egyptian officials about the matter.
One week prior to that report by Reuters that Ford would be unacceptable, Shoebat.com first revealed the disturbing allegiances of Barack Obama’s brother Malik Obama. A photo from Malik’s own website showed him in Sana’a, Yemen wearing a Hamas scarf that called for the eradication of Israel. The point of bringing this up is not to show or claim any cause and effect relationship.
The point is to show the leverage against the Obama administration that el-Sisi has been amassing since Malik’s involvement with the Muslim Brotherhood was first revealed by Shoebat.com shortly after the IRS scandal broke. Again, however, U.S. politicians send muddled messages by not seizing upon the Malik Obama scandal while both houses of the U.S. Congress voted to back Muslim Brotherhood rebels in Syria.
After the overthrow of Mursi, the case of Malik Obama quickly caught the attention of the leaders in Egypt who filled the vacuum.
The first salvo fired against Obama came from the former Chancellor of the Constitutional Court of Egypt, Tahani el-Jebali in August of 2013, a highly respected and prominent voice. As Shoebat.com reported at the time, Jebali stated she would like…
“…to inform the American people that their president’s brother Obama is one of the architects of the major investments of the international organization of the Muslim Brotherhood.”
El-Jebali added…
“We will carry out the law and the Americans will not stop us. We need to open the files and begin court sessions. The Obama administration cannot stop us; they know that they supported terrorism. We will open the files so these nations are exposed, to show how they collaborated with them [the terrorists]. It is for this reason why the American administration fights us.”
Soon thereafter, a complaint was filed with the office of Egypt’s Prosecutor General, Hisham Barakat, as Shoebat.com reported. Complaint No. 1761 / 2013 actually made it onto Barakat’s radar, a very explosive development indeed. The complaint mentioned el-Jebali’s claims, which provided additional credibility.
In the many months that have transpired since, the case against Malik has only gotten stronger; much stronger. The repository of articles can be found here. The evidence in that case has no doubt been piling up in a drawer somewhere in an office of the el-Sisi government as well.
A reliable source has revealed that Malik was the middleman who introduced Muslim Brotherhood leader Khairat el-Shater to the Obama administration. In April of 2012, as a Muslim Brotherhood delegation was visiting the White House and doing a media tour, el-Shater’s decision to run for President of Egypt was announced. He was subsequently disqualified because of his rap sheet and prison sentences. Mursi took his place but as the Brotherhood’s Deputy Supreme Guide, el-Shater had a tremendous amount of power within the Brotherhood government.
This information would help to explain why Republican Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham traveled to Egypt to call for the release of Brotherhood leaders, including Mursi and el-Shater. They did so as emissaries for Barack Obama. In addition to their bizarre mission, the Senators appeared panicked.

On the eve of their trip, then Secretary of State Bill Burns secretly met for 90 minutes with the jailed el-Shater on a Sunday night, hours before McCain and Graham landed in Cairo for a conversely high-profile visit. El-Shater’s chief of staff – Gehad el-Haddad – at first tried to deny the meeting between his boss and Burns took place and then attempted to say it only lasted ten minutes.
El-Haddad, who worked for five years as an employee of the Clinton Foundation, was soon thereafter jailed as well. In addition to Huma Abedin’s ties to the Muslim Sisterhood, the jailed el-Haddad provides el-Sisi with leverage on someone else – Hillary Clinton.
Barack Obama and el-Sisi best represent the world’s two most polar opposite views today and it is el-Sisi who has the biggest advantage – and more people flocking to his worldview, which is not muddled at all.

Israel Today Staff — Israeli officials on Monday enthusiastically embraced reports that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi recently offered the Palestinians an independent state in the Sinai Peninsula in return for dropping claims to the pre–1967 borders.
According to the offer, which was reported by the Arab media and by Israel’s Army Radio, Egypt would give the Palestinians land in the Sinai that would effectively expand the territory of the Gaza Strip fivefold.
This “Greater Gaza” would be a fully independent state under the sovereignty of the Palestinian Authority, and would serve as a homeland for all Palestinians “refugees.”
Major Palestinian Arab cities in Judea and Samaria (the so-called “West Bank”) would remain autonomous under the rule of the Palestinian Authority, but claims to the rest of the area would be dropped.
Certain details of the plan remained vague - such as what Palestinian autonomy in the West Bank would entail - but it represented the first time an Arab leader had been willing to “think outside the box” in bringing a proposed solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Predictably, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas outright rejected the proposal, preferring to stick to the same old land-for-peace formula that for over 20 years has succeeded in bringing nothing but increased conflict.
Israeli officials said that, Abbas’ rejection notwithstanding, the Egyptian proposal had to be taken seriously and explored in future peace negotiations.
“This could solve problems that weren’t given a response in talks between Israel and the Palestinians so far,” Science and Technology Minister Yaakov Peri told Army Radio.
Peri pointed out that the plan would also presumably help Egypt suppress the growing Islamization of the Sinai.
Right-wing lawmaker Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home) said that even if the Egyptian proposal is never implemented, it highlights the fact that the “solution to the Palestinian problem must be regional and cannot fall on Israel’s shoulders alone.”
Like most Israelis, Shaked is quick to point out that the West Bank and Gaza only fell into Israel’s hands as as result of military aggression by her Arab neighbors.
Army Radio reported that el-Sisi continues to press Abbas regarding the plan, which has already won the support of the Obama Administration.
