By Michael Snyder, The American Dream — How do you deal with psychotic religious warriors that believe that they are offering a service to God by killing Christians? Ever since 9/11, we were endlessly told about what a great threat “al-Qaeda” was, but I don’t remember a single time when al-Qaeda ever marched a group of Christians out and beheaded them on camera. ISIS appears to be an entirely different animal than al-Qaeda ever was, and it is about time that we started taking them seriously. But the Obama administration is actually allowing Americans that went overseas to fight for ISIS to come back into the country and resume their normal lives. To me, that is absolutely insane. These are people that believe that they score major points with their god when they kill us. And they especially seem to relish the opportunity to kill Christians. Sadly, this is all part of a rising trend of Christian persecution all over the planet. Christian churches are being burned to the ground in places such as Egypt, India and West Africa, and earlier this month we witnessed a horrific incident during which more than a hundred Christians were mercilessly gunned down in Kenya. It is becoming increasingly dangerous to be a Christian, and it is only going to get worse in the years ahead.

You have to keep in mind that these ISIS fighters are actually convinced that they are the good guys. They don’t believe that what they are doing is evil. When they kill Christians, they are just doing what they believe their god wants them to do…

A shocking new video appearing to show at least 30 Christians being beheaded and shot by ISIS in Libya has been released.

The 29-minute video, titled ‘Until It Came To Them – Clear Evidence’, shows dozens of militants holding two separate groups captive, thought to be in the south and the west of the country.

At least 16 men, described by Islamic State as the ‘followers of the cross from the enemy Ethiopian Church’, are lined up and shot in a desert area while 12 others are filmed being forced to walk down a beach before being beheaded.

This follows another video in February of the beheading of a group of 21 Coptic Christians on the beach in Libya, though that terrain was rockier than the one shown in the latest film.

This video that was released makes it abundantly clear what these killers are motivated by. The following description of the audio on this latest ISIS video comes from CNN…

“All praise be to Allah, the Lord and cherisher of the world and may peace and blessings be upon the Prophet Mohammed. To the nation of the cross, we are back again on the sands, where the companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him, have stepped on before, telling you: Muslim blood that was shed under the hands of your religion is not cheap,” the narrator says in Arabic on the 30-minute video.

The narrator continues, “In fact, their blood is the purest blood because there is a nation behind them (which) inherits revenge. And we swear to Allah: the one who disgraced you by our hands, you will not have safety, even in your dreams, until you embrace Islam.”

Do you understand what is being said there?

They will not stop fighting until we all embrace Islam.

Not much room for negotiation there.

Meanwhile, other Islamic groups all over the planet are starting to take their cues from ISIS, and this is resulting in a rising tide of violence against Christians.

For example, recall the incident in the Mediterranean Sea the other day in which a dozen innocent Christians were tossed to their deaths…

When a rubber dinghy carrying around 100 African refugees across the Mediterranean began to sink, a Nigerian Christian prayed for his life in an innocent act that would end in the deaths of 12 fellow migrants.

One of the Muslims on board the rickety craft ordered him to stop, saying: ‘Here, we only pray to Allah.’

When he refused, a violent fight ensued and 12 Christians drowned when they were thrown overboard by the Muslim refugees.

Who in the world would do such a thing?

The only reason those 12 people were killed was because they were Christians.

The following is what Reverend Franklin Graham had to say about this incident…

“The Italian police have arrested 15 Muslims for throwing 12 people overboard and watching them helplessly drown in the Mediterranean,” said Rev. Graham in an Apr. 17 Facebook post.

He continued, “Why? Just because they were Christians! Because Islam has a deep and relentless hatred for people who bear the Name of Christ. These Christians were among a group of 105 people who were trying to escape war and poverty in Africa and were headed to Italy to look for work.”

We saw another example of this kind of violence against Christians earlier this year in West Africa…

It took only a few hours, but it was enough time for hundreds of radical Muslims in Niger, West Africa, to destroy dozens of churches and several Christian homes. Ten people lost their lives and hundreds were injured when Muslim mobs went on the deadly rampage in early January.

Now, three months later, Christians living there are moving forward, determined to still preach the Gospel despite the dangers.

In most of these attacks around the globe, those involved do not believe that they are doing anything wrong.

Rather, most of the people involved in this violence believe that they are actually offering a service to their god.

And the tide is turning in the western world as well. I don’t know if you have noticed, but it is quite socially acceptable to make jokes about Christians and to portray them as bad guys and lunatics in movies and on television shows. Evangelical Christians are even being labeled as “potential terrorists” in official government documents, and every trace of the Christian faith is being pushed out of public life in the United States. I discussed how this is being done in the U.S. military in this recent article, but just about everywhere you look Christianity is being pushed into the shadows. The disdain for the faith of our forefathers has reached a crescendo, and it is not going to be any easier to be a Christian in this country in the years ahead – that is for sure.

In fact, I am sure that there will be some extremely negative comments about Christians and the Christian faith following this article. But that is okay – we need an honest exchange of views in this nation. By Michael Snyder, The American Dream — Every day now, there are fresh news stories about Christians being slaughtered by ISIS in the Middle East.  So where is the outrage from the White House?  Where is the outrage from the Islamic world?  If Islam truly was a “religion of peace”, prominent Islamic leaders all over the globe would be loudly condemning ISIS whenever another slaughter of Christians took place.  And a White House statement about the beheading of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians by ISIS the other day did not have the word “Christian” in it a single time.  ISIS is painting the Middle East red with the blood of Christians, and most of the world seems to care very, very little.  If thousands of people from some politically-favored group or religion were being savagely killed, the outcry would be deafening.  But because Christians are being killed, it is not such a big deal.  So exactly what does that say about how the world views Christians in 2015?

Without a doubt, Christians are being specifically targeted by ISIS. They are simply not going to submit to the Islamic rules and belief system that ISIS intends to impose on the areas that it conquers, so they are considered to be a “problem” that needs to be dealt with.

When 21 Coptic Christians were beheaded by ISIS jihadists in Libya, it shocked Christians all over the world.  Those that released this video entitled it “A Message Signed With Blood to the Nation of the Cross”.  Clearly, it was intended to strike fear in the hearts of Christian believers all over the planet. But the White House reaction did not contain the words “Christian”, “Islam” or “Muslim” a single time…

Video surfaced on Sunday showing Libyan ISIS sympathizers decapitating 21 Christians on a beach. White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest issued a 192-word reaction condemning the brutal killings as ‘despicable’ and ‘cowardly’ but made no mention of the religion of the killers or their victims.

The words ‘Christian,’ ‘Islam’ and ‘Muslim.’ were not included in Earnest’s statement.

The video itself was titled ‘A Message Signed With Blood to the Nation of the Cross.’ The slaughtered men, clad in orange jumpsuits reminiscent of Guantanamo Bay detainee garb, were described as ‘crusaders.’

One of the men was seen praying just moments before his throat was slit.

When it comes to dealing with ISIS, the Obama administration truly is utterly clueless.

Those fighting for ISIS are very clear about what they are trying to do. They consider this to be a religious war, and they fully intend “to conquer Rome”…

“All [Christian] crusaders: safety for you will be only wishes, especially if you are fighting us all together,” says the narrator. “Therefore we will fight you all together. The sea you have hidden Sheikh Osama bin Laden’s body in, we swear to Allah we will mix it with your blood.”

After the Islamic State killers cut off the heads of the Egyptian men, the narrator says, “And we will conquer Rome, by Allah’s permission, the promise of our Prophet, peace be upon him.”

So what would have happened if things would have been switched around?

What would have happened if Christians had publicly beheaded 21 Muslims just because they believed in Islam?

That is a question that Franklin Graham asked recently…

The Islamic State beheaded 21 Egyptian Christians over the weekend, propping the severed heads on the victims’ backs, a barbaric slaughter that led Reverend Franklin Graham to ask, “Can you imagine the outcry if 21 Muslims had been beheaded by Christians?”

“Where is the universal condemnation by Muslim leaders around the world?” he asked.

And without a doubt, the global response would have been overwhelming. There would have been huge protests in cities all over the globe and the outrage would have lasted for months.

But when Christians are killed, the uproar doesn’t last for long. So in a desperate attempt to keep their names in the news, ISIS jihadists in Libya have reportedly rounded up another 35 Christians…

At least 35 more Egyptian Christians are feared to have been kidnapped by jihadists in retaliation for air strikes on targets in Libya.

Militants from the Islamic State and Ansar Al-Sharia are understood to have rounded up dozens of farm workers in the wake of bombings by Cairo, it was reported by local media.

The move is believed to be a direct response to strikes by Egyptian warplanes yesterday which came after fanatics released a horrific video showing the beheading of 21 Christians on a beach.

It raises the chilling prospect of yet another mass execution in what is being seen as ISIS’s bid to announce its presence in a new region where it is gaining influence.

Are we about to witness another mass beheading?

Let’s pray that does not happen.

Sadly, this might just be the beginning.

ISIS continues to get stronger in Iraq.

ISIS continues to get stronger in Syria. In fact, the amount of territory that ISIS controls in Syria has doubled since U.S. airstrikes began.

And ISIS is making great strides in Libya. At this point, ISIS controls most of the coastal cities, and propaganda videos are being made to show that they are in total control of the streets…

The video appears to show a fleet of Toyota Land Cruisers carrying the notorious black flag of Islamic State as they drive in perfect unison through the streets of Libya.

Men, women and children cheer and salute the pick-up trucks as they drive freely through what is believed to be the city of Benghazi.

The carefully produced propaganda video was uploaded by terrorist group Ansar al-Sharia on February 5.

The group declared city an ‘Islamic emirate’ in July 2014 before pledging allegiance to Islamic State just three months later. In November of that year, the UN blacklisted it as a terrorist organization.

The group was widely blamed for the death of US Ambassador Christopher Stephens in Benghazi in 2012. And only this week, it was linked to the bloody executions of 21 Egyptian Christians on a beach in Libya.

Perhaps you think that you will never have to face any of this because you live on the other side of the world.

But as ISIS grows stronger, they are going to eventually get their hands on much more powerful weapons, and they are going to expand their operations to western nations.

And when the time comes to pull the trigger, ISIS will not hesitate. These are suicidal maniacs that would love to kill as many of us as possible.

Today, ISIS is painting the Middle East red with the blood of Christians.

But tomorrow, it could be America.

THE PAGAN ROOTS OF HALLOWEEN

By Michael Snyder, The American Dream — Most people that celebrate Halloween have absolutely no idea what they are actually celebrating.  Even though approximately 70 percent of Americans will participate in Halloween festivities once again this year, the vast majority of them are clueless about the fact that this is a holiday that is thousands of years old and that has deeply pagan roots.  If you are going to celebrate something, shouldn’t you at least know what you are celebrating?  Before it was ever known as Halloween, this festival was known as Samhain.  According to Wikipedia, Samhain “is mentioned in some of the earliest Irish literature and is known to have pre-Christian roots”.  The ancient Celts believed that Samhain was the time when the veil between the spirit world and our world was lifted and the ghosts of the dead were able to freely mingle with the living.  It was also a time to honor the Lord of the Dead known as Bel (note the similarity to Baal) or Chrom.  Almost every major Halloween tradition including the jack-o’-lantern, trick-or-treating and wearing costumes is rooted in ancient Celtic practices.  In many areas of early America, Halloween was considered to be so evil that it was banned.  But today most Americans don’t even think twice about celebrating it.

To most people these days, Halloween is just a fun time to dress up, eat candy and attend parties.

But there are others that take this holiday extremely seriously.

For Wiccans, it is one of the most important times of the year.  The following description of Samhain comes from wicca.com…

Samhain, (pronounced SOW-in, SAH-vin, or SAM-hayne) means “End of Summer”, and is the third and final Harvest. The dark winter half of the year commences on this Sabbat.

It is generally celebrated on October 31st, but some traditions prefer November 1st. It is one of the two “spirit-nights” each year, the other being Beltane. It is a magical interval when the mundane laws of time and space are temporarily suspended, and the Thin Veil between the worlds is lifted. Communicating with ancestors and departed loved ones is easy at this time, for they journey through this world on their way to the Summerlands. It is a time to study the Dark Mysteries and honor the Dark Mother and the Dark Father, symbolized by the Crone and her aged Consort.

Originally the “Feast of the Dead” was celebrated in Celtic countries by leaving food offerings on altars and doorsteps for the “wandering dead”. Today a lot of practitioners still carry out that tradition. Single candles were lit and left in a window to help guide the spirits of ancestors and loved ones home. Extra chairs were set to the table and around the hearth for the unseen guest. Apples were buried along roadsides and paths for spirits who were lost or had no descendants to provide for them. Turnips were hollowed out and carved to look like protective spirits, for this was a night of magic and chaos. The Wee Folke became very active, pulling pranks on unsuspecting humans. Traveling after dark was was not advised. People dressed in white (like ghosts), wore disguises made of straw, or dressed as the opposite gender in order to fool the Nature spirits.

So how in the world did a pagan festival known as Samhain become the holiday known as “Halloween” that we celebrate today?

Well, in the early seventh century a Catholic Pope known as Gregory the First decided that the best approach to ensure the continued spread of Catholicism was to “christianize” existing pagan holidays and practices…

As a result of their efforts to wipe out “pagan” holidays, such as Samhain, the Christians succeeded in effecting major transformations in it. In 601 A.D. Pope Gregory the First issued a now famous edict to his missionaries concerning the native beliefs and customs of the peoples he hoped to convert. Rather than try to obliterate native peoples’ customs and beliefs, the pope instructed his missionaries to use them: if a group of people worshipped a tree, rather than cut it down, he advised them to consecrate it to Christ and allow its continued worship.

An existing Catholic festival known as All Saints Day (or All Hallows Day) was moved to the same time as Samhain.  Eventually, All Hallows Eve became known as “Halloween”, but many of the ancient Celtic traditions never disappeared.

Most people don’t realize this, but some of these ancient traditions even involved human sacrifice.  The following is what occult expert Bill Schnoebelen says the Druids would do at this time of the year…

Druids worshiped the sun god, called by names like Bel (Ba’al?) or Chrom. On October 31, they believed that he died and went into the kingdom of the dead, Anwynn. The purpose of Samhain was to insure his return. Even witches admit this involved human sacrifice.

Both animal and human blood were believed to be needed to resurrect Bel on Samhain. Human blood was believed to open the gates of Anwynn and released the spirits for a night. Thus, October 31 came to be associated with ghosts. This is not just history. Samhain is still celebrated by Pagans and is the most solemn ceremony on their “religious calendar”.

And of course it is not just Bill Schnoebelen that teaches this.  In fact, the May 1977 edition of National Geographic admitted that Samhain was a time when “firstborn children were sacrificed”.

So back then it definitely was not the light-hearted holiday that most Americans celebrate today.

Other “Halloween traditions” also have their roots in the Druidic practices of the ancient Celts.

For example, have you ever wondered where the “Jack-0-Lantern” comes from?  Here is more from Schnoebelen…

Here it’s a pumpkin, but in Europe it was often a turnip, or a skull with a candle in it. This serves two symbols, 1) the lord of the Dead, a “god” just like a Buddha – in short, an idol. 2) The fearsome face represented the god, Samhain, who would drive off less powerful demons that night. The lights in the Jack-o-Lantern symbolize the “faery fires” or “Will’o the Wisps” which were believed to be the lost souls flitting through the night. They also hearken back to the huge Samhain “balefires” which were lit to help conjure back the god from the darkness.

The traditions of dressing up in costumes and going trick-or-treating also come from the Druids.  The following is an excerpt from an article posted on CBN.com…

For example, among the ancient Druids, “The ghosts that were thought to throng about the houses of the living were greeted with a banquet-laden table. At the end of the feast, masked and costumed villagers representing the souls of the dead paraded to the outskirts of town leading the ghosts away.”

As already noted, Halloween was thought to be a night when mischievous and evil spirits roamed freely. As in modern poltergeist lore, mischievous spirits could play tricks on the living—so it was advantageous to “hide” from them by wearing costumes. Masks and costumes were worn to either scare away the ghosts or to keep from being recognized by them:

In Ireland especially, people thought that ghosts and spirits roamed after dark on Halloween. They lit candles or lanterns to keep the spirits away, and if they had to go outside, they wore costumes and masks to frighten the spirits or to keep from being recognized by these unearthly beings.

You may say that “it doesn’t mean that to me”, but even today there are large numbers of people that take this stuff deadly seriously.

On page 96 of the Satanic Bible, Anton LaVey wrote the following…

“After one’s own birthday, the two major Satanic holidays are Walpurgisnacht (May 1st) and Halloween.”

Most people will never see it, but in dark corners and out of the way places some incredibly sinister things will take place in America on Halloween night.

Just like for the ancient Celts, there are people out there that truly believe that it is a night to commune with the spirits.

If you are a pagan, you probably already know all of this stuff.

If you are not a pagan, you might want to think twice before you do things that could potentially open up doorways to the spirit realm.

THANKS TO OBAMA’S INCOMPETENCE, EBOLA IS NOW OUT OF CONTROL IN AMERICA

Most of the time Obama’s incompetence doesn’t have immediate dramatic consequences. But this time it might result in the deaths of countless numbers of Americans

By Michael Snyder, The American Dream — Much of the responsibility for the Ebola crisis that the United States is now facing can be laid squarely at the feet of Barack Obama.  If Obama had banned all non-essential air travel between the U.S. and West Africa, Thomas Eric Duncan would have never gotten on to a plane to this country in the first place.  And if Obama had directed the CDC to get all hospital staff in America some basic training about Ebola, we might not have two infected nurses at this point.  But instead, this Ebola outbreak in America is now officially out of control.  The fact that one of the sick nurses got on to an airplane while she was feeling feverish boggles the mind, and it is creating a tremendous amount of fear all over the nation.  Already, one traveler showed up at Dulles airport in a full hazmat suit.  The White House has announced that Obama has canceled a fundraising trip and will be holding an “emergency meeting” on Ebola.  Hopefully he can start to get a handle on what is going on before it is too late.

News that a second nurse that was caring for Thomas Eric Duncan has Ebola sent shockwaves all over the country.  Apparently those caring for him did not wear hazmat suits for the first two days.  This is such a monstrous error that it is hard to put into words.

What made things even worse is that this second nurse decided to get on a plane even after she began exhibiting symptoms…

The CDC has announced that the second healthcare worker diagnosed with Ebola — now identified as Amber Joy Vinson of Dallas — traveled by air Oct. 13, with a low-grade fever, a day before she showed up at the hospital reporting symptoms.

The CDC is now reaching out to all passengers who flew on Frontier Airlines flight 1143 Cleveland to Dallas/Fort Worth. The flight landed at 8:16 p.m. CT.

All 132 passengers on the flight are being asked to call 1 800-CDC INFO (1 800 232-4636). Public health professionals will begin interviewing passengers about the flight Wednesday afternoon.

If she was showing symptoms, that means that she was contagious.

Isn’t that what we have been told all along?

But CDC director Thomas Frieden, who like Barack Obama was reportedly once a “community organizer”, says that the risk to other passengers on that flight was “very low”…

CDC director Thomas Frieden said she had violated CDC guidelines against anyone using public transport while undergoing self-monitoring for exposure to Ebola. Frieden said Vinson did not report that her temperature had risen a small amount, to 99.5 degrees, before she departed for Dallas. He said her risk to other passengers was “very low.”

How in the world can he say that with a straight face?

She was showing symptoms.

She was contagious.

Anyone on that flight could now have Ebola.

And we might not know who has it for quite some time.  According to the CDC, the incubation period for Ebola can be up to 21 days…

The incubation period, from exposure to when signs or symptoms appear, for Ebola ranges from 2 to 21 days (most commonly 8-10 days). Early symptoms include sudden fever, chills, and muscle aches. Around the fifth day, a skin rash can occur. Nausea, vomiting, chest pain, sore throat, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may follow.

But that information might not even be accurate.

A WHO report that was just released says that Ebola can have an incubation period of up to 42 days.

So several weeks from now we might have Ebola cases popping up all over the country.

We just don’t know.

And what makes all of this even worse is the fact that the plane this happened on continued to be used for five more flights after the sick nurse got off…

The Frontier Airlines jet that carried a Dallas healthcare worker diagnosed with Ebola made five additional flights after her trip before it was taken out of service, according to a flight-monitoring website.

Denver-based Frontier said in a statement that it grounded the plane immediately after the carrier was notified late Tuesday night by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about the Ebola patient.

What a nightmare.

In addition, there may already be more cases of Ebola in Dallas.

Shtfplan.com is reporting that the boyfriend of nurse Nina Pham is a potential case.

And CNN has reported that the CDC is “assessing” four additional health care workers at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.  Just check out this screenshot.

Normally, Barack Obama’s incompetence doesn’t immediately cause a major national emergency.

But in this case, that may be exactly what has happened.

Obama should have ordered the CDC to be all over the first case of Ebola in Dallas.

But instead, CNN is reporting that nurses are claiming that “there were no protocols” for dealing with the Ebola patient…

Also Tuesday, National Nurses United made troubling allegations about the hospital, claiming “guidelines were constantly changing” and “there were no protocols” about how to deal with the deadly virus.”

“The protocols that should have been in place in Dallas were not in place, and that those protocols are not in place anywhere in the United States as far as we can tell,” NNU Executive Director RoseAnn DeMoro said. “We’re deeply alarmed.”

Nurses were told to wrap their necks with medical tape when equipment left their necks exposed; they felt unsupported and unprepared, and they received no hands-on training, union co-president Deborah Burger said.

In addition, it is being reported that at the hospital there was “no one to pick up hazardous waste as it piled to the ceiling” during the treatment of Thomas Eric Duncan.

Soiled sheets and clothing just sat there and kept on piling up.

At this point, the head of the CDC should immediately resign in disgrace.  The incompetence that he is displaying is absolutely appalling.

For example, during a single press conference he recently claimed that you cannot get Ebola by sitting on a bus, but that you can spread it by riding on a bus…

Dr. Tom Frieden, director for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said during a telephone press briefing Wednesday that you cannot get Ebola by sitting next to someone on a bus, but that infected or exposed persons should not ride public transportation because they could transmit the disease to someone else.

Say what?

At this point confusion reigns in Washington.

And they better get their act together soon because we could be on the verge of the worst health crisis in U.S. history.

Some leaders in Washington are already starting to become extremely critical of the “leadership” of the Obama administration and the CDC.  For instance, this week Rand Paul accused Obama of “lying to the American people” about this crisis…

Senator Rand Paul has accused Barack Obama of downplaying the threat posed by Ebola for political purposes, alleging that the President has “failed to show leadership” on the issue.

In an interview this morning with Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, the Kentucky Senator was asked by host Dom Giordano if the Ebola outbreak was morphing into an issue of incompetence and the White House “lying to the American people.”

“It adds to just a litany of things that the President has let us down on and failed to show leadership,” responded Paul. “So, I think it’s one thing after another, it’s not just one issue. The lack of leadership on Ebola, the equivocating, the downplaying, the underplaying, the, sort of, trying to calm everyone with really not being completely frank about the transmissibility of the disease, I think, doesn’t help any of them at the polls.”

Like I said earlier, most of the time Obama’s incompetence doesn’t have immediate dramatic consequences.

But this time it might result in the deaths of countless numbers of Americans.

We have reached a tipping point.  If Ebola is not controlled soon, we could be facing the worst pandemic in modern history.  In fact, the UN says that we only have 60 days to avert an unprecedented global crisis…

The UN says the ebola outbreak must be controlled within 60 days or else the world faces an “unprecedented” situation for which there is no plan.

The United Nations made the stark warning as it warned that the disease “is running faster than us and it is winning the race”.

Nearly 9,000 cases of ebola have been reported so far in West Africa, including 4,447 deaths.

So are Obama and the rest of our “leaders” in Washington up to the task?

Most Americans don’t realize this, but Russian subs can come cruising right up to our coasts without us knowing about it and launch missiles which will start hitting our cities within just a few minutes.

By Michael Snyder, The American Dream — Did you know that two Russian bombers practiced launching cruise missiles at the United States from a spot in the North Atlantic just the other day?  And did you know that Russia is spending massive amounts of money to build and test new nuclear weapons systems?  Meanwhile, the Obama administration is doing absolutely nothing to upgrade the U.S. nuclear arsenal.  Our nuclear officers are actually still using floppy disks and other computer technology from the 1960s.  The size of the U.S. nuclear arsenal has been reduced by about 95 percent from the peak of the Cold War, and Barack Obama has spoken of even more dramatic reductions.  Obama is snoozing even as a Russian general speaks of the need to “spell out the conditions under which Russia would launch a preemptive nuclear strike” against the United States.  Obama appears to be entirely convinced that a nuclear war between the U.S. and Russia is not even a remote possibility.  He better be right, because we are definitely not prepared for one.

Even with everything that has happened between the United States and Russia lately, most Americans still believe that “the Cold War is over” and that Russia presents absolutely no threat to us.

But Russia is behaving as if the Cold War is still very much on.  You probably didn’t hear a peep about it from the mainstream media, but just the other day a couple of Russian bombers simulated launching cruise missiles at us from the North Atlantic.  The following is an excerpt from an excellent article by Bill Gertz…

Two Russian strategic bombers conducted practice cruise missile attacks on the United States during a training mission last week that defense officials say appeared timed to the NATO summit in Wales.

The Russian Tu-95 Bear bombers were tracked flying a route across the northern Atlantic near Iceland, Greenland, and Canada’s northeast.

Analysis of the flight indicated the aircraft were conducting practice runs to a pre-determined “launch box”—an optimum point for firing nuclear-armed cruise missiles at U.S. targets, said defense officials familiar with intelligence reports.

And Russia is spending money as if a nuclear confrontation with the U.S. is a very real possibility.  In fact, Russian President Vladimir Putin has committed to a “weapons modernization program” that is going to cost the equivalent of 540 billion dollars…

Putin said Russia’s weapons modernization program for 2016-2025 should focus on building a new array of offensive weapons to provide a “guaranteed nuclear deterrent;” re-arming strategic and long-range aviation; creating an aerospace defense system and developing high-precision conventional weapons.

He would not elaborate on prospective weapons, but he and other officials have repeatedly boasted about new Russian nuclear missiles’ capability to penetrate any prospective missile shield.

The Kremlin has bolstered defense spending in the past few years under an ambitious weapons modernization program that runs through 2020 and costs the equivalent of $540 billion.

You don’t spend that kind of money just for the fun of it.

Putin is deadly serious about being able to fight (and win) a war against the United States.

Of course nobody on either side actually hopes that such a war will happen.  But most wars are won before a single shot is fired, and right now Russia is working very hard to make sure that it will have the best chance possible of coming out on top in any future conflict.

For example, Russian media is reporting that 60 percent of all Russian nuclear missiles will have radar-evading capability by 2016…

Russia’s Defense Ministry plans to complete the rearmament of Strategic Missile Forces within six years.  “By 2016, the share of new missile systems will reach nearly 60%, and by 2021 their share will increase to 98%. At the same time the troop and weapon command systems, combat equipment will be qualitatively improved, first of all — their capabilities for the suppression of antimissile defense will be built up,” Defense Ministry’s RVSN spokesman Colonel Igor Yegorov told ITAR-TASS on Friday.

But of greatest concern is the new generation of nuclear-powered attack submarines armed with long-range cruise missiles that Russia has been developing.

Just this week, Russia conducted a successful test of the new submarine-launched Bulava intercontinental nuclear missile…

Russia carried out a successful test of its new Bulava intercontinental nuclear missile on Wednesday and will perform two more test launches in October and November, the head of its naval forces said.

The armed forces have boosted their military training and test drills since the start of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, which Russia considers in its traditional sphere of influence.

The 12-meter long Bulava, or mace, has undergone numerous tests, some successful, and can deliver an impact of up to 100 times the atomic blast that devastated Hiroshima in 1945.

Each one of these missiles weighs more than 36 tons and has a range of more than 5,000 miles.

But in a future conflict, they would likely only have to travel a short distance.

That is because Russia has developed super silent attacks subs that are virtually undetectable when submerged.

In a previous article, I talked about how the U.S. Navy refers to these virtually undetectable subs as “black holes”…

Did you know that Russia is building submarines that are so quiet that the U.S. military cannot detect them?  These “black hole” submarines can freely approach the coastlines of the United States without fear of being detected whenever they want.  In fact, a “nuclear-powered attack submarine armed with long-range cruise missiles” sailed around in the Gulf of Mexico for several weeks without being detected back in 2012.  And now Russia is launching a new class of subs that have “advanced stealth technology”.  The U.S. Navy openly acknowledges that they cannot track these subs when they are submerged.  That means that the Russians are able to sail right up to our coastlines and launch nukes whenever they want.

Most Americans don’t realize this, but Russian subs can come cruising right up to our coasts without us knowing about it and launch missiles which will start hitting our cities within just a few minutes.

And if you do not think that this can ever happen, perhaps you should consider what a Russian general said about a preemptive nuclear strike just the other day…

A Russian general has called for Russia to revamp its military doctrine, last updated in 2010, to clearly identify the U.S. and its NATO allies as Moscow’s enemy number one and spell out the conditions under which Russia would launch a preemptive nuclear strike against the 28-member military alliance, Interfax reported Wednesday.

Russia’s military doctrine, a strategy document through which the government interprets military threats and crafts possible responses, is being revised in light of threats connected to the Arab Spring, the Syrian civil war and the conflict in Ukraine, the deputy chief of the Kremlin’s security council told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Obama administration has discussed reducing the size of our already neutered strategic nuclear arsenal down to just 300 warheads.

Let us hope and pray that we never see a nuclear war between the United States and Russia.

Because if one does happen, there is a very strong possibility that America will not be the winner.

Could All Of This Be Leading Up To Something Really Big?

By Michael Snyder, The American Dream — Did you know that the number of big earthquakes during the first three months of 2014 was more than double the yearly average of what we have experienced since 1979? And did you know that the number of earthquakes in the central and eastern U.S. has quintupled in recent years? If you do not believe this, just keep reading. We live at a time when earthquakes are increasing in frequency and severity. And we are starting to see some very unusual activity in places that have been quiet for a very long time. For example, large holes are starting to mysteriously appear in Indiana near the New Madrid fault zone. And a giant crack in the ground nearly a kilometer long has appeared in northern Mexico. Could these be indications that even greater earthquake activity is on the way?

Most Americans don’t realize that the greatest earthquakes in U.S. history happened along the New Madrid fault zone. Back during the early part of the 19th century, a series of immensely powerful earthquakes rattled the entire eastern half of the nation. Documents that we have from that era say that those earthquakes were so powerful that they were felt more than 1,000 miles away. And there are many that believe that if we had a similar earthquake today that the damage caused would almost be incalculable.

That is why what has been happening in Indiana is so alarming. According to reports, half a dozen mystery holes have been discovered on Mount Baldy…

More than a year after a 6-year-old boy was almost buried alive in a popular sand dune, more holes are appearing and scientists still aren’t sure why. The 126 foot sand dune, called Mount Baldy, in Indiana, remains closed as new potentially dangerous holes are appearing. Three geologists arrived last week with high tech equipment in the hope of using radio waves and core samples to see if they can determine what’s causing the holes. Their plan? To eventually build a three dimensional map of the dune to try and see it’s internal structure.

Half-Dozen Holes Found At Mount Baldy

So what should we think about all of this?

Well it could be something or it could be nothing.

But any weird activity near the New Madrid fault always gets my attention. This fault is so dangerous that it could literally change the shape of the country overnight. For much more on how dangerous the New Madrid fault is, just check out this video.

Most Americans never even give the New Madrid fault a second thought, but the federal government considered it important enough to hold a major five day simulation known as “National Level Exercise 11″ just a few years ago…

In May, the federal government simulated an earthquake so massive, it killed 100,000 Midwesterners instantly, and forced more than 7 million people out of their homes. At the time, National Level Exercise 11 went largely unnoticed; the scenario seemed too far-fetched — states like Illinois and Missouri are in the middle of a tectonic plate, not at the edge of one. A major quake happens there once every several generations.

National Level Exercise 11, or NLE 11, was, in essence, a replay of a disaster that happened 200 years earlier. On Dec. 16, 1811, a magnitude 7.7 earthquake hit the New Madrid fault line, which lies on the border region of Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi. It’s by far the largest earthquake ever to strike the United States east of the Rockies. Up to 129,000 square kilometers [50,000 square miles] were hit with “raised or sunken lands, fissures, sinks, sand blows, and large landslides,” according to the U.S. Geological Service. “Huge waves on the Mississippi River overwhelmed many boats and washed others high onto the shore. High banks caved and collapsed into the river; sand bars and points of islands gave way; whole islands disappeared.” People as far away as New York City were awakened by the shaking.

More quakes, of a similar size, followed. But the loss of life was minimal: Not too many people lived in the area at the time. Today, there are more than 15 million people living in the quake zone. If a similar quake hit, “7.2 million people could be displaced, with 2 million seeking temporary shelter” in the first three days, FEMA Associate Adminsitrator William Carwile told a Congressional panel in 2010. “Direct economic losses for the eight states could total nearly $300 billion, while indirect losses at least twice that amount.”

And officials at the U.S. Geological Survey recently released a report that stated that the New Madrid fault zone has the “potential for larger and more powerful quakes than previously thought”.

That certainly sounds quite chilling.

In addition, retail powerhouse Wal-Mart is so concerned about the potential for a major quake that it “participated in an exercise to prepare for an earthquake on the New Madrid fault line” earlier this year…

Walmart Stores Inc., with its huge network of stores and facilities, has also taken note. “We are seeing increased earthquake activity in the central U.S. That is an area we are focusing on even more,” said Mark Cooper, senior director of emergency management at Walmart, in an interview. He explained that Walmart takes an “all-hazard” approach to emergency preparedness, but focuses on specific risks in areas of the country where those risks are particularly relevant, such as hurricanes in Louisiana. “A few weeks ago, we participated in an exercise to prepare for an earthquake on the New Madrid fault line,” he said.

But the New Madrid fault zone is certainly not the only area to be keeping an eye on.

Down in north Mexico, a giant crack in the ground about a kilometer long has recently appeared. It is estimated to be approximately 16 feet across and 8 feet deep. You can view some stunning aerial footage of this giant crack in the Earth right here…

Giant fissure opens in North Mexico

Some believe that an earthquake along the San Andreas Fault may be to blame for this giant fissure.

Others believe that it is being caused by an underground stream.

While footage of giant cracks in the Earth such as you have just seen can be quite spectacular, what is far more alarming to me personally are the cold, hard earthquake numbers.

For example, as I mentioned above, the number of big earthquakes that we have seen this year has been far higher than usual. The following is from a recent CBS News report…

If you think there have been more earthquakes than usual this year, you’re right. A new study finds there were more than twice as many big earthquakes in the first quarter of 2014 as compared with the average since 1979.

And this is not something that has just started happening. As that same article explained, this is all part of a much longer trend…

The average rate of big earthquakes — those larger than magnitude 7 — has been 10 per year since 1979, the study reports. That rate rose to 12.5 per year starting in 1992, and then jumped to 16.7 per year starting in 2010 — a 65 percent increase compared to the rate since 1979. This increase accelerated in the first three months of 2014 to more than double the average since 1979, the researchers report.

In particular, things really seem to be heating up in the middle portion of the United States. As I mentioned at the start of this article, the frequency of earthquakes in the central and eastern parts of the nation has quintupled over the past 30 years…

According to the USGS, the frequency of earthquakes in the central and eastern U.S. has quintupled, to an average of 100 a year during the 2011-2013 period, up from only 20 per year during the 30-year period to 2000.

Most of these quakes were minor, but research published by the USGS earlier this year demonstrated that a relatively minor magnitude 5.0 quake caused by wastewater injection after conventional oil drilling triggered a much bigger, 5.7 magnitude quake in Prague, Okla.

“We know the hazard has increased for small and moderate size earthquakes. We don’t know as well how much the hazard has increased for large earthquakes. Our suspicion is it has but we are working on understanding this,” said William Ellsworth, a scientist with the USGS.

What we are watching happen is truly unprecedented. Oklahoma alone has experienced more than 2,300 earthquakes so far this year. Scientists don’t really know what to make of this alarming increase in seismic activity.

Could all of this be leading up to something really big?

And what will things look like if we do get hit by a magnitude 8 or a magnitude 9 earthquake in a very heavily populated area?

If You Are Deluded Into Thinking That “Obama Can Stop Them,” Then I Feel Very Sorry For You

By Michael Snyder, The American Dream — If some psychopaths were running around crucifying and beheading lots of people and then they said that they wanted to drown my family “in blood” I would be inclined to take them seriously. But so far, most Americans seem to be completely and totally unconcerned about ISIS. Perhaps that is because we had so many years where we were told that al-Qaeda was a major threat but nothing ever seemed to happen. Well, the truth is that ISIS is a far different creature than al-Qaeda ever was. After 9/11, we never heard of al-Qaeda doing much of anything except for supposedly hiding in caves. But ISIS is out there every single day taking over territory and hacking innocent people to pieces. At this point ISIS controls vast swaths of both Syria and Iraq, and they just posted a video on the Internet of the beheading of a prominent American journalist. These jihadists are absolute nutjobs, and if given the opportunity, there is probably very little that they would not be willing to do to us.

So I don’t get it. I don’t understand why most Americans are not taking ISIS seriously. These guys seem to revel in killing their opponents in some of the most gruesome ways imaginable. And they are now threatening to attack U.S. targets and to drown all of us “in blood”...

Islamic State militants have threatened to attack U.S. targets ‘in any place’ in revenge for American air strikes against them in Iraq.

The extremist group posted a chilling video showing a blood-spattered Star and Stripes next to the jihadist flag with the message in English: ‘We will drown all of you in blood’.

The message was accompanied by photographs of an American who was beheaded during the U.S. occupation of Iraq and victims of sniper shootings.

In case we were tempted to dismiss their threats, ISIS has just underscored their intentions by beheading journalist James Foley and posting a video of it on the Internet…

A video released by ISIS shows the beheading of U.S. journalist James Foley and threatens the life of another American if President Barack Obama doesn’t end military operations in Iraq.

In the video posted Tuesday on YouTube, Foley is seen kneeling next to a man dressed in black. He reads a message, presumably scripted by his captors, that his “real killer” is America.

“I wish I had more time. I wish I could have the hope for freedom to see my family once again,” Foley can be heard saying in the video.

He is then shown being beheaded.

To me, it seems clear that they actually intend to do what they are saying.

But are they capable of doing it?

Are they actually capable of coming over here and conducting attacks?

That is a legitimate question.

Some would claim that ISIS possesses no ability to conduct operations outside of the Middle East.

Others would point to indications that ISIS may already be here.

For example, just the other night a man held up an ISIS sign during the protests in Ferguson, Missouri.

And there was also a recent report that a man in New Jersey had an ISIS flag flying in front of his home.

But much more chilling was a photo of an ISIS flag that was recently posted to Twitter by @Sunna_rev...

So could they actually be here?

Well, even the most hardcore skeptic has to admit that anything is possible considering how porous our borders are. In fact, earlier this month a filmmaker dressed up as Osama bin Laden and crossed the Rio Grande River.

If ISIS jihadists wanted to get into this country, border security would not be an issue. If the Obama administration had any concern for our national security whatsoever, it would secure the border, but of course that will never happen.

And without a doubt they know that men from the Middle East are constantly crossing our southern border. An abandoned Islamic prayer rug was found near the border in Arizona just the other day, and according to one expert U.S. Border Patrol agents are reporting that Mexican gang members are getting up to $50,000 a head to bring “Middle Easterners” into the United States…

Dennis Michael Lynch directed and produced “They Come to America” and “They Come to America II” and has extensive, daily contact with U.S. Border Patrol agents about the true state of the U.S.-Mexico border. He said there are essentially four groups of people pouring across the border: families of various sizes, unaccompanied minors, drug smugglers and career criminals and terrorists. Lynch said while the media focus on the kids, really bad people are easily slipping into the country.

“I can tell you from the people I speak to in the Border Patrol who are in the intelligence unit, they have told me that gang members are receiving as much as $50,000 per head to bring a person through. Those people are typically from the Middle East or from China,” said Lynch, who predicts the people waltzing into the country will perpetrate an attack on the U.S. that will rival or exceed Sept. 11.

And members of Congress know exactly what is going on as well. The following is a very disturbing excerpt from a November 2012 House Committee on Homeland Security report…

U.S. Government officials who are directly responsible for our national security continue to affirm the vulnerability. In August 2007 former Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell stated that not only have terrorists used the Southwest border to enter the United States but that they will inevitably continue to do so as long as it is an available possibility. In a July 2012 hearing before the full U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security, DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano confirmed that terrorists have crossed the Southwest border with the intent to harm the American people. Additionally, the U.S. Border Patrol regularly apprehends aliens from the 35 “special interest countries” designated by our intelligence community as countries that could export individuals that could bring harm to our country in the way of terrorism.” From Fiscal Years 2006 to 2011, there were 1,918 apprehensions of these special interest aliens at our Southwest border.

Yes, I know that the U.S. government has funded and trained ISIS fighters at various times. The goal was to use them to topple governments (such as Syria) that the Obama administration did not like.

And yes, I know that ISIS is using captured American weapons to take over Iraq.

But at this point it appears that nobody can control what ISIS is doing. This is an organization that seems to have absolutely no fear, and their savagery is unprecedented. For example, just check out what Franklin Graham recently told Fox News about what ISIS is doing to Christians in Syria and Iraq…

Asked by Fox’s Greta Van Susteren about how quickly the situation had changed in Iraq, particularly in the north and eastern regions since December of last year, Rev. Graham said, “It’s intensifying. We are seeing now across Syria. And I will get reports out of Syria where Christians, and also in Iraq, where Christians have been crucified. They have been beheaded.”

“I have heard incidences where entire families have been buried alive because of they refused to convert to Islam,” said Rev. Graham. “Greta, these people are dying for their faith. They believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son, who died for our sins, who was buried for our sins, who God raised to life.”

Other reports are even more disturbing. For example, the Anglican Vicar of Baghdad recently stated that a child that he had personally baptized was “cut in half by ISIS“.

Who in the world would do such a thing to a little child?

And what ISIS did to one particular Christian family in Mosul was absolutely unspeakable…

A Christian father who watched his wife and daughter get brutally raped by members of the militant group, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) because he couldn’t pay them a poll tax in Mosul, Iraq, killed himself under the weight of the trauma this past weekend.

A report from the Assyrian International News Agency said ISIS began enforcing Islamic laws in the northern Iraq city which they overran on June 10.

Dr. Sallama Al-Khafaji of the Iraq High Commission for Human Rights said the incident happened on Saturday after ISIS began asking Christians in Mosul for a poll tax.

Look, we need to realize that these guys are far more dangerous than al-Qaeda ever was.

If they get the opportunity, they will kill as many of us as they possibly can and they will celebrate while doing it.

If you are deluded into thinking that “Obama can stop them”, then I feel very sorry for you.

We are facing an entire army of suicidal maniacs that are more than willing to die to advance their cause. And they hate America with a passion that is so intense that most Americans cannot even comprehend it.

If these psychopaths are able to get their hands on weapons of mass destruction and are able to get them into the United States, I am fully convinced that they will not hesitate to use them.

And if that ever happens, a lot more Americans will start taking their threat to “drown all of you in blood” a lot more seriously.
