“FAITH COMETH BY HEARING, AND HEARING BY THE WORD OF GOD.”

BABYLON, IDOLATRY AND YOU
SERMON NOTES
Jeremiah was given the difficult task of speaking against the idolatry of Judah. Judah had rebelled against God by pursuing gods who suited and justified their sexual behavior. Though Jeremiah spoke, no one listened, and God’s judgment came upon the nation.
God is speaking to us today. Will we give up the idols of sports, business, relationships, and fame and return to God?

Linkster’s Noteworthy Jewish History Tidbit:
The land of Judah (and Samaria) have been renamed “The West Bank” in this present era and was ruled by the biblical King David. In his 40 years as ruler, between 1010 and 970 B.C. (Before Christ), he united the people of Israel, led them to victory in battle, conquered land and paved the way for his son, King Solomon (3rd King of Israel— Saul & David being the 1st & 2nd kings, respectively), to build the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. Almost all knowledge of him is derived from the books of the Prophets and Writings: Samuel I and II, Kings I and Chronicles I.
