EDITOR’S NOTE: With Pope Francis leading the way, calls for a crusade to combine the world’s religions with the Climate Change movement are intensifying. Paris was host this week for a Summit of world leaders to make this a reality. Arnold Schwarzenegger has been selected as their spokesman and appears in a video calling for the “gospel of Climate Change to be preached” in every “church, mosque and temple” across the world.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been chosen by the French government to join Nobel prizewinners, philosophers, UN secretary generals, spiritual leaders and theologians to make the moral case for the world to act urgently on climate change.

Talking at the world’s first summit of conscience for the climate on Tuesday – ahead of the crucial UN climate change meeting in the city in December – the Terminator star and former California governor declared the science debate over, saying planetary catastrophe could only be avoided with ethical action:

“I believe the science is in. The debate is over and the time for action is now,” he told an invited audience of intellectuals and spiritual leaders from all faiths. “This is bigger than any movie, this is the challenge of our time. And it is our responsibility to leave this world a better place than we found it, but right now we are failing future generations.”

Cardinal Peter Turkson, Ghanaian president of the Vatican’s Pontifical council for justice and peace, who helped Pope Francis write the encyclical on human ecology published last month, said that the climate is a common good. “It is a global common meant for all but the costs are being borne by those who have least contributed to it.

“At stake now is the wellbeing of the earth, our common hope. What we need is care. When we care for something it is with passion and commitment of the heart. That’s why Pope Francis called for care of the earth. A sense of passion is needed.”

Muslim theologians, Christians and Hindus said they saw climate change both as an existential threat and as an opportunity for renewal. Sheikh Bentounes, leader of the Sufi brotherhood Alawiya, urged mankind to carry “a hope of a future”.

“The prophet Mohammed called on man to plant and sow seeds. He said ‘Even at the end of times continue to plant and sow.’ We have responsibility to carry this hope to the end. This tiny vessel in infinite space that we call earth is unique.”

Daoists, Confucians, shamans, Jesuits, Bhuddists and others called for politicians to act on behalf of humankind at Paris. Patriarch Bartholomew, leader of 300 million Orthodox Christians, despaired at humanity’s blindness, but quoted writer Fyodor Dostoevsky saying that “beauty would save the earth”.

“Scientists and theologians agree that humanity depends on nature. We must accept the moral imperative for action. Religion must also be involved in the crucial question of climate change”, said Bartholomew. source

Pope Francis is a shrewd, savvy, highly-motivated political player who is throwing the full weight of the Vatican with it’s 1.3 billion followers behind a Marxist globalist agenda to usher in the New World Order. Geoffrey Grider, Editor-in-chief and founder of NTEB — A Vatican declaration authored by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences (PAS) and others who attended a meeting Tuesday on global warming. The document from participants of the meeting pushes for ditching market economies to fight global warming and environmental degradation.

“Fossil fuel exploitation has also taken a huge toll on human well being,” the PAS document reads.

“Market forces alone, bereft of ethical values, cannot solve the intertwined crises of poverty, exclusion, and the environment,” the document adds. “The move to a sustainable world will not be cost-free for all: the options we face are not ‘win-win.’”

“Present economic systems have been accompanied by the development of unacceptable gaps between the rich and the poor,” the PAS writes, “the latter still lacking access to most of the scientific and technical benefits that we have developed in the industrial world.”

Like Former Pope Benedict, Francis Is Expected To Condemn Fossil Fuels And Push For More “Just” Economic Reforms

“We should be prepared to accept a reallocation of the benefits and burdens that accompany humanity’s activities both within nations and between nations,” according to the PAS document.

Pope Francis made headlines this week by promising to weigh in on the global warming debate, meeting with United Nations officials and scientists to discuss the issue and possible solutions to stemming global temperature rises and predicted ecological catastrophe.

Judging by what participants of the Vatican’s climate meeting wrote, the Papacy could come out hard against market economies that utilize fossil fuels for development. But given the authors of the document, it shouldn’t be surprising.

One of the authors is economist Jeffrey Sachs who now heads up Columbia University’s Earth Institute. Sachs has been heavily backed by liberal philanthropist George Soros. Years ago, Soros donated $50 million to a project co-run by Sach’s nonprofit the Millennium Promise.

Obama Tells West Point Army Officers:
Climate Change Is A National Security Crisis

On Today’s Show (June 2, 2014): Brand New rules were announced today by the Obama Administration's EPA that seek to lower Co2 emissions from coal-fired plants by 30% by 2030. What impact will this have on energy costs, jobs, poverty and will it impact temperature fluctuation to reduce so-called “global warming”?

Answering these questions was Dr. Roy W. Spencer who received his Ph.D in meteorology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1981. Before becoming a Principal Research Scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2001, he was a Senior Scientist for Climate Studies at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center where he and Dr. John Christy received NASA's Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal for their global temperature monitoring work with satellites. Dr. Spencer's work with NASA continues as the U.S. Science Team leader for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer flying on NASA's Aqua satellite. He has provided congressional testimony several times on the subject of global warming. Dr. Spencer's research has been entirely supported by U.S. government agencies such as NASA, NOAA and DOE. He is the author of a book on global warming called, “Climate Confusion”.

According to Dr. Spencer, the Environmental Protection Agency, which is on the executive side of government, gets to basically do what they want without Congressional approval. They have a history of trying to regulate all forms of anything considered as pollution down to zero, as if that’s possible when we know that there’s no such thing as people not emitting pollution.

Excerpt from today’s interview...

Dr. Roy Spencer: “The reason why I speak out on the [global warming] issue is because anytime you make things more expensive you hurt the poor. I think, in fact, you can argue convincingly that you kill people when you put in policies which make poverty worse.

I have a moral obligation to speak out when they make regulations like this through the EPA with the intent, supposedly of reducing future temperatures, when by their own calculations if they’re successful in the U.S. in cutting out CO2 emissions, it will only reduce global temperatures by 200th of a degree by the end of this century, which I can tell you as someone who monitors global temperatures, is well outside our ability to even measure it.”

Too many in the public think that carbon dioxide is just another pollutant that we can avoid emitting when we can't. It's a natural byproduct of most of our energy generation via fossil fuels. You can't capture it nor can you 'clean up' coal by removing carbon dioxide. So for now we're stuck on the road to getting rid of coal fired power plants which provide about 40% of America's electricity.

Even if cutting carbon dioxide emissions is successful it will only reduce global temperatures by 200 hundredths of a degree by the end of this century which is well outside of our ability to even measure it.

Dr. Spencer also comments on the following: President Obama, when speaking before Army officers at West Point recently, said that global climate change is a national security crisis; Secretary of State John Kerry called global warming deniers members of the 'Flat Earth Society'; the fallacy of the polar bear numbers; the rising sea levels and much more.

War On Coal: Obama ‘Strangling Industry,
Taking Good Jobs Away From Americans’

WND TV, Radio America — President Obama has vowed to lead the international effort to combat climate change, and he is not waiting around for congressional approval of his agenda.

The president said climate science is settled, and he will enact major policy through executive actions that will bypass the scrutiny of lawmakers. He claims the planet is warming, making severe weather events so much more common that urgent action must be taken.

Obama rejected skepticism about climate science, saying, “We don’t have time for a meeting of the Flat Earth Society.’”

Reducing “carbon pollution” is at the heart of the Obama plan. In addition to doubling investments in clean energy technology, the administration will seek to impose tougher emissions standards on conventional, coal-fired power plants.

One of Obama’s climate advisers is even publicly embracing the idea of a “war on coal.”

Harvard University Center for the Environment Director Daniel P. Schrag told the New York Times, “The one thing the president really needs to do now is to begin the process of shutting down the conventional coal plants. Politically, the White House is hesitant to say they’re having a war on coal. On the other hand, a war on coal is exactly what’s needed.”

But Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee, told WND this approach from Obama should come as no surprise.

“This administration has pursued a war on coal, with the Stream Buffer rule that has gone through a couple of changes,” Hastings said. “It would essentially strangle the coal industry.”

He also said further crackdowns on coal production and coal-fueled power plants would be economically devastating.

“These jobs are very good-paying jobs. In a sluggish economy, that’s the last thing we need to do is to take good American jobs away from Americans. And yet, that seems to be what this administration is doing,” he said.

Obama and his allies blame fossil fuels for threatening Earth’s climate, but Hastings said that position ignores the benefits of using our own resources and fails to consider the clean technologies already put to use in the energy sector.

“Let’s talk about the abundance of coal we have in this country, for goodness sake. And let’s talk about the technology. We have proven time and again that we can burn our fuels in a cleaner, more environmentally friendly way,” he said. “We have proven that over the last half-century, and there’s no reason to believe we can’t do it again. But to simply say we’re not going to burn any coal at all does not make any sense to me at all.”

In addition to lost jobs, Americans in many parts of the country could face much higher energy costs as more and more coal-fired power plants risk closure under tighter environmental regulations.

“There’s no question that they would go up because at the same time that the president is strangling the coal industry, he is attempting de facto to do exactly the same thing with oil and natural gas production, especially on federal lands,” said Hastings, who is among the House Republicans championing the Offshore Energy and Jobs Act, a bill that supporters say would create 1.2 million jobs.

Hastings said the bill is in response to Obama closing access to 85 percent of the areas off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts that were identified for potential energy exploration.

“What we say in this legislation is that this president and future presidents shall offer leases where they know there are known resources. What a novel idea: offering leases where you think you can get oil and natural gas,” said Hastings, who noted that additional domestic production is also a positive step away from dependence upon foreign oil.

The chairman said it is possible that increased exploration could mean another disaster like America saw in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, but he said safety standards make such an event very rare and energy companies have already developed faster, more effective response plans in the event of another crisis. » Full Article
