THE EUROZONE MINISTERS HAVE AGREED TO GIVE GREECE A BRIDGING LOAN IN LIGHT OF THEIR ECONOMIC CRISIS

This “Daily Update” Aired: Friday, July 17, 2015

Eurozone Ministers have agreed to give Greece a bridging loan from an European Union fund to keep it's finances afloat until a bailout is approved. The European Central Bank has agreed to increase emergency funding to Greece for the first time since it was frozen in June. These decisions were made after Greek members of the Parliament passed tough reforms as part of a Eurozone bailout.

Dr Rob Congdon explains why a Greek bailout could be a global problem.

ROB CONGDON: "I think that's the key, the Greek debt is heavy, they need a lot of money. But when we start comparing with the rest of the world we start seeing that Greece is almost like a preview of what we could be seeing.

Greece owes 3 1/2 times the amount of money they can produce in a year. The United States owes 3.7 times what it can produce in a year; therefore we are in deeper debt, if you will, then Greece is. Britain 5 1/2 times their annual production is what it would take to pay their current debt for a year, so it's in bad shape. Ireland is an EU country which will be standing in the wings shortly saying we need money. They are in debt 10 times what they can produce in a year.

So what we have is a whole series of nations that have overextended themselves and are deep in debt. In Europe it isn't the same as in the US because Europe up until now has not been able to print more bills, cash, to pay the debts or to give people more money, so what you have is a spiral that is moving and actions are going to have to be taken very soon to start correcting this trend that is really a global trend."

Dr Rob Congdon with that report for us here on Prophecy Today. I report this information because it is setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

JIMMY’S PROPHETIC PROSPECTIVE ON THE NEWS

The Greek economic crisis will have an impact on Europe and the entire world prophetically.

Greece is part of the Eurozone. Members of the European Union who have joined together with a common currency called the Euro. A fall of the Eurozone could destroy the European Union which is the infrastructure for the Revived Roman Empire that is called for in Daniel 7:7-24.

In addition to that, global economics has a major role in the future. Revelation 18 calls for an economic, political, governmental system that will rule the world from the city of Babylon in the coming Tribulation period. The domino effect because of the Greek economic crisis could be setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

His name is Alexis Tsipras, and it seems that he meets much of the criteria of the prophesied Antichrist. He was just elected as the Prime Minister of Greece. He is an atheist and a far left winger. His party in Greece is called SYRIZA. He has appeared out of nowhere in the last couple of years, almost magically. He has landed himself in a most precarious situation. Greece is broken. Is he the one to fix it, and also the EU which is struggling and groping at almost anything to revive Europe? All eyes are on this man.

On Sept 17, 2014 Mr. Tsipras met with Pope Francis at the Vatican. He was the first leader of a left-wing party that met the head of the Roman-Catholic church–ever. This is not surprising with this Pope, because he is rabidly ecumenical, and very “Green”, always talking about global warming and people harming the earth. It has been said that Tsipras and the Pope get along famously, and are in one accord. No problem that one claims to be the head of the “faithful” on this earth, and the other, a staunch atheist. Could it be that there are unseen circumstances, not being divulged to the public? I would say, assuredly so.

Terry James of Rapture Ready wrote a piece on the possibility of this man being the Antichrist, but he made strong point at the beginning of the piece, telling Christians that we should be looking for the glorious appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ to Rapture His church from this earth.

Antichrist Archetype Emerges

“…There has surfaced, in my view at least, an archetype of the leader to come who will be the first beast of Revelation 13. This generation is not yet in the Tribulation, but is experiencing precursors to that last seven years that makes us know that a time of unprecedented troubles is just ahead. Likewise, a leader has arisen from the area of the reviving Roman Empire, one whose emergence makes the observant Bible prophecy student suspect ever more assuredly that Antichrist is waiting in the shadows of the immediate future.

Any such leader rising suddenly and dramatically out of the very nucleus of what was ancient Rome justifiably raises the eyebrows of Bible prophecy students. The visible, physical reactions of those who have put him on his pedestal are quite interesting…glassy eyes filled with tears of joy, as they looked worshipfully at the man on whom they are hanging their hopes. “One interesting candidate that is clearly different from most of the others is Greek politician Alexis Tsipras He is the nominee for the Party of the European left; he also is the youngest of all the candidates at 39 years of age. He is a total atheist whose political roots are in socialism and communism. He remains un-married, but has cohabitated with his high school girlfriend for twenty years and they have one child.

Not only is he a wildly popular figure in Greece, but was elected unanimously to the SYRIZA a conglomerate of 13 far left radical groups. He has an Obama-like quality of being believed without a long established history of significant accomplishments or well accepted political plans or skills.” [2] – source

Alexis Tsipras sworn into office takes Civil Oath

“Alexis Tsipras, who was sworn in earlier this week as the new Prime Minister of Greece, has become his country’s first openly atheist leader. A survey noted that atheist leaders in Europe are becoming more prominent, with France and Croatia also being led by non-religious figures.

Tsipras was sworn in on Monday after his Syriza party won the elections in Greece, but he chose not to take a religious oath at the ceremony. Reuters noted that Tsipras, whose left-wing party has opposed austerity measures, broke from tradition when he decided to take a civil, rather than a biblical oath.” [3] – source

He is the first leader of Greece to refuse to take a religious oath on the Bible in the history of the country.

Tsipras has met with Pope Francis to discuss a peace treaty with Israel:

Tsipras said: “Even though we started from different points, ideological points, we believe we have common positions in the principles of solidarity, in the principles of justice, peace and cohesion.”

“We agreed on the need to continue the dialogue between the European left and the Christian church,” he said. “There is a need to create an ecumenical alliance against poverty, inequalities, against the logic that markets and profits are above people.”” - Alexis Tsipras in meeting with Pope Francis

The Pope and the new Greek leader also discussed climate change. Pope Francis is open to everyone, well almost everyone. He embraces the Atheist, the Wiccan, really any beliefs are fine with him, as long as social justice is addressed and a common hatred of Capitalism is quite important.

Think of how the bible describes the character and nature of the Antichrist, while you read the following quote from Alexis Tsipras official website:

“We discussed the need for peace to return on earth, for the immediate cease of war interventions…asked him to take an international initiative for the termination of conflicts in the Middle East. Finally, we agreed that the dialogue between the Left and the Christian Church must go on. We may have different ideological starting points; however, we converge on common values, like solidarity, love for the fellow Human being, social justice, and our concern regarding world peace.” Alexis Tsipras in his meeting with Pope Francis

Alexis Tsipras as the Antichrist? Pope Francis as the False Prophet? It certainly is pretty interesting, wouldn’t you say?

George Soros backs Tsipras

“The Guardian featured an article today about George Soros and the opening of his “Solidarity Center” in Thessaloniki, Greece, the first of many he plans to open in order to help Greeks who were hit the worst by the economic crisis.”

You see, it is a hobby of Mr. Soros to take his billions of dollars and play politics. He groomed Barack Obama for his entrance onto the world stage. He is part of the New World Order (Illuminati). He is probably one of the most evil people who ever walked the earth. Strong statement – I know. But how about Hitler? Of course, Hitler was incredibly evil. But did you know what George Soros did in Germany during the Holocaust? He was a teen and from a billionaire father. He was a Jew, but to save his own life, he turned in his fellow Jews to be loaded on the trains, heading for their deaths. He is unrepentant of these deeds – he says there is nothing to be sorry about.

Isn’t it interesting that the pre-elections took place in Thessaloniki (Thessalonica from the Bible) and now Mr. Soros has established his Solidarity Center in that same city? One thing I find fascinating is that in the Bible, the Antichrist was spoken of in much detail by the Apostle Paul in the book of 2 Thessalonians 2...

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. We in the United States of America do not live under a monarchy. We have no king. There is no single governing official in the country. America’s supreme law does not rest with any man or any group of men. America’s supreme law does not rest with the president, the congress, or the supreme court. In America the U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land. So therefore, under our laws, every governing official publicly promises to submit to the Constitution of the United States with his, or her, hand on the Bible. Do leaders understand the significance of this distinction? I surely hope so. This means that in America, the higher powers are not the men who occupy the elected office, they are the tenets and the principles set forth in the United States Constitution, under our laws and form of government. It is the duty of every citizen, including our elected officials, to obey the United States Constitution...

An Afghan Woman’s Journey to Freedom

An Afghan woman, who was recently in Athens, Greece, shared her amazing story at a meeting I attended, and I now share it with you below, and ask you to pray for her as she begins her new life:

I was crammed into a small boat with 65 other Afghanis. We were headed to Italy from Turkey accompanied by our smugglers. A storm approached with high winds and rain, which then descended on us mercilessly causing our boat to rock violently. The waves were intent on capsizing our vessel.

We hadn’t eaten or drunk water for three days. Women and children were crying and getting sick. Many had come close to losing consciousness. I was separated from my children who were in another part of the boat and I couldn’t get to them.

People began praying different surah’s from the Quran and repeating the creed over and over. The shouts of “We’re going to die! We’re going to die!” were interspersed with the prayers of the refugees. I, too, said a few of those prayers in my utter desperation. I felt sure that we were going to drown. We were in a hold on the boat that had a few windows. The air was pungent with body odor, humidity and a sense of terror. If we opened the windows water poured in, but keeping them shut made it difficult to breathe.

Suddenly our boat took a sharp nosedive. Everything and everyone was sliding in one direction. This was it. We were going down! Just then flashes of conversations I had had with my Christian sister in Australia and my Christian brother in Germany, and scenes from a film about Jesus I had seen in Iran came to my mind.

I breathed out a prayer to Jesus. I had never prayed to him before. I told him that if he allowed me and my children to live I would go to a church as soon as we reached land. Immediately the boat righted itself in a miraculous way and the storm eased. People rejoiced that God had heard their prayers, but I knew Jesus had answered my prayer!

Incredibly at that time, a large Greek boat drew alongside us and threw a few bottles of water into our boat. Fights broke out with people clawing to get one to assuage their thirst. Then men from the big boat lashed our boat to theirs and brought us safely to shore. They must have called ahead because on the beach where we landed there were rows and rows of water bottles and cups waiting for us!

We were then taken to a camp area where we were given food, shelter, and dry clothes. If those Greeks had been Muslims they never would have saved us. And there is no way they would have supplied us with water, food, and clothing.

Though we were headed to Italy, we ended up in Greece. Fulfilling my promise to God, the first thing I did was to ask for a church. I then headed straight for it. It was a Greek church. A wedding was taking place. I went in and sat and watched! Nobody said anything to me but it was interesting to see the church building.

The next week, I went to another church and just sat in the back and watched. I didn’t understand anything they were saying. I went to a third church and again, I did not comprehend what was being said, but strangely I had a peace come upon my heart in just being in those churches. I realized something was happening inside me. I didn’t understand it but I knew it was something good.

Then I heard about a place where an organization that operated in an 8-story building. I heard they were providing food for Afghans so I went there. It was the Hellenic Ministries Refugee Center. I heard a talk about Jesus translated into my own language. They gave me an Afghan Bible. I took it and began to read it.

I compared what I read in the Bible to what I knew my religion taught. The Bible said things like, “love your neighbor, turn your cheek when struck to give the other side, forgive your enemies.” My religion urged us to kill the infidel and hate our enemies. I had never read anywhere of love and forgiveness like in the Bible. Enemies in Afghanistan had killed my husband. All I ever heard from the two major sects in my religion was that each other were infidels.

I witnessed a man get shot in the chest and die because he was from the other sect. Another woman was shot and died right in front of me because of her particular sect. I saw men whose limbs were blown off bleeding profusely in bomb blasts over sectarian clashes. I could not get these images out of my mind. I was only 15 years old then and those images kept coming back to me, sometimes two or three times a day.

I could not help but notice the difference in the people who were working in Refugee Center where I would go to listen to the Bible lessons. They were humble and always ready to help without ulterior motives. I liked them. I was beginning to accept their teaching. I appreciated their attitude and manner. I felt myself drawn to the Jesus they proclaimed.

Then 4 months ago I made my decision. I wanted to believe in Jesus. I wanted Him to be my savior. Truly He has answered many of my prayers. Life is still difficult but I’m thankful. I have an inner peace. I am a new person. It seems God allowed me to be diverted to Greece so I could hear about the Christian faith and believe!

When my sister in Australia had telephone me and told me that she believed in Jesus I was horrified. I wept for her and cried that she had lost the way. Then my brother in Germany told me he had become a follower of Jesus. This was followed by another brother in Sweden who also had put his faith in Jesus. What was happening to my own family?

Then my own eyes were opened and I realized it was Jesus who had saved me from drowning and had saved me eternally. Other members of my family in Iran and another brother in France are very antagonistic to Christianity and upset with those of us who have changed our faith and have trusted Jesus. From the storm on the sea to the peace in my heart, I am truly thankful! Praise God.

The Director of the Hellenic Ministries refugee work, Bruce McAtee commented on her story, saying: “As a follow up, this woman joined her family in Sweden last month. Before leaving, she gave her testimony at church and I had the privilege of baptizing her. It was a powerful moment as she emerged from the water with tears and prayer. She left Greece with a burden and conviction to share with others about this new life with hope, peace, love, forgiveness, and all that is found in Christ!”
