The president will purportedly bypass Congress and crack down on small scale gun sellers. Fox News reports the plan would require gun sellers to order background checks on prospective buyers and tighten laws for gun sales to those who have committed domestic-abuse offenses.

IF THE WHITE HOUSE REALLY WANTS TO CRACK DOWN ON GUN VIOLENCE -- MAYBE THEY SHOULD ENFORCE THE LAWS THAT ARE ALREADY ON THE BOOKS.


But that’s not the point. THIS PRESIDENT ULTIMATELY WANTS TO DISARM THE NATION.

The primary reason our Founding Fathers wrote the Second Amendment was to protect all the other amendments.

Just after the Muslim terrorist attack in San Bernardino the Washington Post found that 53 percent of voters oppose a ban on assault weapons -- a record high.

THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SEEM TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT -- GUNS KEEP OUR FAMILIES SAFE.

So instead of declaring war on law-abiding gun owners -- maybe the president ought to declare war on the true threat facing our nation -- radical Islam.

The National Rifle Association accused the president of pulling a “political stunt” and Republican presidential candidates have widely condemned the president’s gun-control plans.

“THE PRESIDENT IS A PETULANT CHILD,” New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie told “Fox News Sunday.” “Whenever he doesn’t get what he wants…this president acts like a king.”

Carly Fiorina told CNN the president HAS “BEEN A LAWLESS PRESIDENT.”

“It is delusional, dangerous, not to mention unconstitutional,” she said. “We have a long list of criminals who own guns, who routinely purchase guns. We know who these people are, and we are not prosecuting any of them.”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott summed up it up best in a tweet:

Ask Yourself Why They Are Trying
To Take Away Our Guns In 2014

NTEB News Desk, May 17, 2014 — The approved Common Core teaching materials on the Second Amendment defines it like this:

“This amendment states that people have the right to certain weapons, providing that they register them and they have not been in prison.” (see textbook illustration above)

No where in any documents in our founding does it mandate that people must “register their guns”, and neither does it say that they are only allowed “certain types of weapons”. These liberal lies are being taught as fact in the Public School system that is now infected with the Common Core virus. We are going to have an entire generation of children who will be raised on the half-truths and outright fabrications.

In the case of District of Columbia v. Heller (07-290). The plaintiff in Heller challenged the constitutionality of the Washington D.C. handgun ban, a statute that had stood for 32 years. Many considered the statute the most stringent in the nation. In a 5-4 decision, the Court, meticulously detailing the history and tradition of the Second Amendment at the time of the Constitutional Convention, proclaimed that the Second Amendment established an individual right for U.S. citizens to possess firearms and struck down the D.C. handgun ban as violative of that right. Since 1797, liberals in Washington have sought to have the Second Amendment overturned, either through an outright removal of the amendment or by devouring it in bites until it was gone. Common Core teaching materials are the latest weapon in the liberal arsenal that seeks to take us off of the Constitution and place us under Marxist rule. The small cadre of billionaires at the top – Bill Gates, George Soros, et al – are using their mega-wealth to accomplish this goal. Barack Obama is their puppet, and they are pulling the strings.

The Second Amendment is not, and was never about “your right to go hunting”. It has nothing to do with hunting. The Second Amendment has always been about the right of the average citizen being able to defend themselves from a tyrannical government that had turned against them. This is why the Second Amendment is so hated by liberals who see the people as subjects instead of citizens.

Do you know why you never see any Muslim demonstrations or protests in any of the southern states? Because they know that people in the south carry guns, lots of guns. Do you know where you see Muslims engaging in street protests and violence? In all the states and cities run by liberals like Chicago, Detroit and California. Do you know that Chicago has more of the strongest guns laws prohibiting gun ownership than anywhere else in the country – yet – they have the highest number of shooting deaths? Gun laws never do anything but disarm the people, criminals will always have guns and never follow any law.

Jews in Nazi Germany were first forbidden to own firearms, then they were placed in ghettos on their way to Concentration Camps. Watch those old newsreels of 6 SS guards with a few German shepherds and a couple of machine guns rounding up thousands of defenseless Jews. Then ask yourself why they are trying to take away our guns in 2014.

Senate Candidate Warns Of Washington’s Gun-Control Plans

WND EXCLUSIVE — A candidate to represent Georgia in the U.S. Senate has issued a warning to middle-class America about Washington’s plans to control guns.

“They want to know who you are, what you have, and they want to know where you live,” said Derrick E. Grayson, a Republican running to succeed Saxby Chambliss.

His comments appeared on a video that was posted online a few weeks ago but recently has started getting attention.

Grayson said he knows Americans are struggling and hurting.

“Despite all the promises by our elected officials, career politicians, and so-called leaders, many people all across this great nation are finding it more and more difficult to cope with the various challenges brought about by out of touch politicians,” he writes on his campaign website. “The erosion of personal freedom and liberty as a result of federal policy and legislation is alarming.”

But on his “drive time” video, he explains his view of the constitutional guarantee that individuals can keep and bear arms.

“The Second Amendment is not about hunting, It is about protecting ourselves from a tyrannical government.”

“Make no mistake about it. Gun control is not about crook control. It’s about America control. That’s what they want to do,” he said.

If gun control worked, he suggested, Chicago wouldn’t be a “war zone.”

Connecticut, which recently adopted additional restrictions on long guns and magazines, should do what Colorado voters did – throw out of office some of the politicians who worked to undermine the Second Amendment, he said.

He cited other gun-control advances, including restrictions on veterans with mental health issues and people who are using various medications.

“Kids that are on Ritalin, they’ll be the next in line,” he said.

“The only thing that holds the government back from just going ballistic on us is the Second Amendment,” he said. “When we become disarmed, it’s over. It’s over.

“When they take your guns and disarm you, it’s over, lights out.”

Grayson, a transit authority senior network engineer who calls himself the “minister of truth,” is competing in a race that includes Reps. Paul Broun, Phil Gingrey and Jack Kingston.

WND reported a lawsuit alleges the Obama administration is using mental health issues involving veterans to disarm them. Michael Connelly of the United States Justice Foundation has filed suit on behalf of military veterans who were told they were incompetent and stripped of their right to bear arms.

The federal government already had cast aspersions on military vets when it warned in 2009 that “returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are attractive to rightwing extremists.”

The report, by the Department of Homeland Security, was called “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment.” It said Obama’s bureaucrats were “concerned that rightwing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to boost their violent capabilities.”

So when hundreds, perhaps thousands, of veterans began receiving letters like one dispatched from the Portland, Ore., office of the Department of Veterans Affairs, alarm bells went off.

WND reported a veteran in Oregon received a letter warning him that “evidence indicates that you are not able to handle your VA benefit payments because of a physical or mental condition.”

“We propose to rate you incompetent for VA purposes. This means we must decide if you are able to handle your VA benefit payments. We will base our decision on all the evidence we already have including any other evidence you sent to us.”

Completion of the incompetency determination would mean a “fiduciary” would be appointed to manage the veteran’s payments.

The VA also warned: “A determination of incompetency will prohibit you from purchasing, possessing, receiving, or transporting a firearm or ammunition. If you knowingly violate any of these prohibitions, you may be fined, imprisoned, or both.”

Connelly said it’s part of an overall strategy Obama is advancing. He previously issued two executive orders that make it easier for a wide range of officials to call a person unstable and report his name to the FBI’s NICS so he would be banned from having guns.

“If you have ever told your doctor you have been depressed, ever suffered from PTSD after being in an accident or losing a family member, or even in the past taken certain types of medications for things such as ADD you may be denied your Second Amendment rights,” Connelly said

He said the disarming process for members of the military is being accomplished through the VA, where there no longer is due process.

WND also has reported Washington’s decision to ignore state actions in Colorado and Washington where the use of marijuana was legalized under state law, even though it continues to violate federal law.

A gun-rights advocate pointed out that federal gun rules prohibit anyone who uses drugs that are illegal under federal law from possessing a weapon.

Greg Campbell, Political Analyst, TPNN — Reverence for the Second Amendment may very well be alive in the Empire State as a new report claims that nearly 90% of New York gun owners have not complied with the state’s new, draconian, anti-gun laws.

The deadline for compliance is fast approaching as New York residents have until April 15th to register weapons deemed “assault weapons” by the New York government.

According to a report from BearingArms.com, officials have waited for the estimated 1 million or so weapons to be registered, New York State Police officials are indicating that number of registrations may be as low as the 3,000 to 5,000 range.

The number is impossible to verify, however, as New York’s SAFE Act prohibits the release of registration figures.

New York’s SAFE Act has been a fiasco from its earliest days. While gruesomely trying to capitalize on national sorrow in the aftermath of the shooting at Sandy Hook, New York gun-grabbers seized the opportunity to ram through hastily-created legislation that demands gun registrations and arbitrary classifications of certain firearms and magazines.

Almost immediately, the shortcomings of the law became evident when the magazine restriction, which banned magazines that could hold more than seven rounds, created millions of criminals overnight as it became clear that magazines that hold no more than seven rounds largely did not exist for most semi-auto firearms.

The state relented and demanded that no more than seven rounds could be loaded into a magazine.

In an illustration of how little deliberation was had before passing this law, the SAFE Act also, from having been thrown together, did not provide an exemption for law enforcement, making thousands of law enforcement agents into criminals. Lawmakers soon amended the law.

Last month, protesters gathered in Saratoga, New York, and burned nearly a thousand gun registration forms as a sign of civil disobedience.

Not only have the vast majority of New York residents refused to comply so far with the requirements, but law enforcement officials have maintained that they will not enforce compliance.

Assemblyman Bill Nojay (R-Pittsford) recently noted that state police are largely unenthusiastic about enforcing compliance. “The rank and file troopers don’t want anything to do with it. [And] I don’t know of a single sheriff upstate who is going to enforce it.”

Succinctly noting Governor Andrew Cuomo’s predicament, Nojay noted, “If you don’t have the troopers and you don’t have the sheriffs, who have you got? You’ve got Andrew Cuomo pounding on the table in Albany.” » Full Article

Such Expectations Were Doomed From The Start

Doug Book, Western Journalism — To date, a reported 50,016 people have guaranteed the eventual confiscation of their firearms by obeying the “Assault Weapons” registration requirements of Connecticut’s new gun law.

But according to a 2011 study commissioned by the Connecticut Office of Legislative Research, it is estimated that more than 300,000 additional weapons have NOT been registered, their owners refusing to relinquish either their semi-auto rifles OR their liberty to Connecticut lawgivers. (Given recent record sales years, that 300,000 could today be 400,000 or more.)

So in spite of the threats of Connecticut’s left-wing politicos to imprison those with the courage to defy unconstitutional legislation, the overwhelming majority of gun owners in the Constitution State have effectively told their elected officials to shove it.

And it’s this wholesale repudiation of unjust legislation that spells disaster for lawmakers in Connecticut as it will for like-minded legislators throughout the nation. For it has always been the case that compliance with enacted legislation is essentially voluntary. Police are capable of dealing with the small minority who refuse to obey statutes against murder or robbery. But law enforcement does not have the resources to handle millions–or even the 300,000 plus who have refused to register their guns according to the demands of a dangerous state government.

And dangerous is the word, for governments dedicated to the enforcement of legislation believed by the people to be unfair and illegitimate “…will be stuck in a pattern of escalating brutality and declining legitimacy.” It is governance by intimidation, dispensed by arrogant, unthinking politicians who have effectively declared war on the people they were elected to serve.

From Governor Dannel Malloy to Under Secretary for Criminal Justice Mike Lawlor, Connecticut officials have put themselves in a Jackpot. With bluster and threat, they expected American gun owners to behave like sheep and willingly surrender their rights and eventually their guns. Only liberals could fail to know that such expectations were doomed from the start; that intimidation would never, ever succeed.

And now they have to choose between enforcing a detested law on a resolved populace, outright repeal, or just looking the other way as though their kneejerk statute never really existed. The smart choice would be repeal. But the left are incapable of retreating on such an important agenda item as gun confiscation. After all, it’s not as though THEY will be looking down a barrel one day. That’s left to police, and goodness knows politicians consider them as expendable as any other commoner.

To liberals, the important thing is that the law is on the books. Eventually, some lunatic will pick out another gun-free zone and murder a few dozen defenseless people. With any luck, maybe a Day Care center! And then the left can begin their assault against the law-abiding with fresh ammunition!

Of course, by that time, another 150,000 AR 15s will have found their way to Connecticut residents.
