THE SILENT MAJORITY IS MAD AS HELL

TODD’S AMERICAN DISPATCH

THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR FOMENTING
POLITICAL UNREST AND CREATING THIS TOXIC
ENVIRONMENT IS NOT DONALD TRUMP --
IT’S PRESIDENT OBAMA

TODD STARNES, FOX NEWS OPINION & COMMENTARY —
Violence broke out over the weekend at several Donald Trump campaign rallies. Leftwing thugs battled with police in Chicago and St. Louis.

One unhinged lunatic tried to storm the stage at a rally in Dayton, Ohio. He was stopped by Secret Service agents. Heaven only knows what he would’ve done had he gotten ahold of Mr. Trump.

TO BE CLEAR – WHAT HAPPENED OVER THE WEEKEND WAS NOT JUST AN ATTACK ON MR. TRUMP. IT WAS AN ATTACK ON THE FIRST AMENDMENT.

But instead of condemning the professional hooligans -- the political chattering class condemned Mr. Trump.

A despondent Senator Marco Rubio went so far as to liken Mr. Trump to a third world strong man.

He’s come under fierce attack for suggesting that his supporters physically manhandle protesters. In February he told an audience that he wanted to punch one of the protesters in the face.

That sort of language has no place in any political campaign.

But that’s not what brought about the weekend violence.

The person responsible for fomenting political unrest and creating this toxic environment is not Donald Trump -- it’s President Obama.

FOR THE PAST SEVEN AND A HALF YEARS THIS MAN [OBAMA] HAS BEEN STOKING DIVISION AND DISCORD.

You want to talk about creating controversy? Fine. Let’s talk about Baltimore and Ferguson, Missouri and Trayvon Martin.

President Obama is the one who told his followers if they bring a knife to the fight -- we bring a gun --- that’s what he said.

President Obama is the one who told his followers if they bring a knife to the fight --
we bring a gun --- that’s what he said.

I don’t recall too many Republicans getting upset over that remark.

Many conservative pundits still do not understand why Americans are flocking to Donald Trump.

They seem bewildered that we’ve ignored Establishment Overlords like Mitt Romney and the uppity-ups at National Review

So for the sake of all you Republicans in Name Only - let me explain what’s going on here.

THE FOLKS WHO PAY THE BILLS IN THIS COUNTRY ARE FED UP. WE'RE TIRED OF BEING CALLED RACISTS AND HOMOPHOBIC AND XENOPHOBIC.

The Silent Majority is mad as hell -- and we’re not going to take it anymore.

COULD OBAMA’S NUKE DEAL UNLEASH IRAN’S APOCALYPTIC MUSLIMS?

TODD’S AMERICAN DISPATCH

“AND THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT JUST CRAZY—
THEY’RE DEMONIC”

TODD STARNES, FOX NEWS OPINION & COMMENTARY —
It’s a hybrid of Islamic radicalism that even scares Al Qaeda.

The New York Times best-selling author Joel Rosenberg calls it “Apocalyptic Islam.”

“APOCALYPTIC ISLAM DOESN’T WANT TO SIMPLY ATTACK US, IT WANTS TO ANNIHILATE US,” Rosenberg told me during an interview broadcast on my podcast. “APOCALYPTIC MUSLIMS LIKE THE LEADERS OF IRAN AND THE LEADERS OF THE ISLAMIC STATE BELIEVE THAT WE ARE LIVING IN THE END TIMES AND THAT IT’S THEIR MISSION FROM ALLAH TO BRING ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT.”

Rosenberg describes Apocalyptic Islam as a subset of Radical Islam.

“We’re not talking about 1.6 billion Muslims,” he said. “We’re talking about ten percent or less who are radicals.”

BUT TEN PERCENT OF 1.6 BILLION IS STILL A MIGHTY BIG NUMBER – AND THEY WANT TO DESTROY CHRISTIANS, JEWS ANYONE ELSE THEY CONSIDER TO BE AN INFIDEL.

“THEY WANT TO ESTABLISH THEIR GLOBAL ISLAMIC KINGDOM WHERE EVERYBODY HAS TO FOLLOW ISLAM,” he said. “And that is a substantively, significantly different and much more dangerous form of radical Islam than even Al Qaeda and Hamas and the Taliban.”

“This is not just about attacking us,” Rosenberg warned. “This is about annihilating us.”

EVEN AL QAEDA HAS DENOUNCED THE APOCALYPTIC MUSLIMS AS BLOODTHIRSTY.

“When Al Qaeda thinks you’re crazy, you’re really crazy,” he said. “And these people are not just crazy – they’re demonic.”

And yet PRESIDENT OBAMA AND HIS ADMINISTRATION ARE TRYING TO APPEASE THE ISLAMISTS – including the ones currently in charge of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Rosenberg called the nuclear deal foolish, dangerous and insane.

“ONCE YOU UNDERSTAND APOCALYPTIC ISLAM, YOU UNDERSTAND JUST HOW DANGEROUS IT IS TO GIVE IRAN NOT JUST ONE PATH TO NUCLEAR WEAPONS, BUT TWO,” he said. “This president doesn’t understand the threat of radical Islam. He won’t even define that – much less Apocalyptic Islam.”

OBAMA WANTS TO DISARM AMERICA

TODD’S AMERICAN DISPATCH

OBAMA IS PLOTTING WITH HIS
ATTORNEY GENERAL TO GET OUR GUNS -
LOCK AND LOAD, AMERICA

TODD STARNES, FOX NEWS & COMMENTARY —
The president will purportedly bypass Congress and crack down on small scale gun sellers. Fox News reports the plan would require gun sellers to order background checks on prospective buyers and tighten laws for gun sales to those who have committed domestic-abuse offenses.

IF THE WHITE HOUSE REALLY WANTS TO CRACK DOWN ON GUN VIOLENCE -- MAYBE THEY SHOULD ENFORCE THE LAWS THAT ARE ALREADY ON THE BOOKS.

But that’s not the point. THIS PRESIDENT ULTIMATELY WANTS TO DISARM THE NATION.

The primary reason our Founding Fathers wrote the Second Amendment was to protect all the other amendments.

Just after the Muslim terrorist attack in San Bernardino the Washington Post found that 53 percent of voters oppose a ban on assault weapons -- a record high.

THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SEEM TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT -- GUNS KEEP OUR FAMILIES SAFE.

So instead of declaring war on law-abiding gun owners -- maybe the president ought to declare war on the true threat facing our nation -- radical Islam.

The National Rifle Association accused the president of pulling a “political stunt” and Republican presidential candidates have widely condemned the president’s gun-control plans.

“THE PRESIDENT IS A PETULANT CHILD,” New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie told “Fox News Sunday.” “Whenever he doesn’t get what he wants…this president acts like a king.”

Carly Fiorina told CNN the president HAS “BEEN A LAWLESS PRESIDENT.”

“It is delusional, dangerous, not to mention unconstitutional,” she said. “We have a long list of criminals who own guns, who routinely purchase guns. We know who these people are, and we are not prosecuting any of them.”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott summed up it up best in a tweet:

“Obama Wants to impose more gun control.
My response? COME & TAKE IT.”

CHRISTIANS BAKERS FINED $135,000 FOR REFUSING TO MAKE WEDDING CAKE FOR LESBIANS

Todd’s American Dispatch

“Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said,
We ought to obey God rather than men.”

Acts 5:29 ~ King James Version Bible

Todd Starnes, Fox News & Commentary — The owners of a mom and pop bakery have just learned there is a significant price to pay for following their religious beliefs.

Aaron and Melissa Klein, the owners of Sweet Cakes By Melissa, have been ordered to pay $135,000 in damages to a lesbian couple after they refused to bake them a wedding cake in 2013.

The Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industry (BOLI) awarded $60,000 to Laurel Bowman-Cryer and $75,000 in damages to Rachel Bowman-Cryer for “emotional suffering.”

“This case is not about a wedding cake or a marriage,” the final order read. “It is about a business’s refusal to serve someone because of their sexual orientation. Under Oregon law, that is illegal.”

According to the BOLI, the lesbian couple suffered great angst. One of the women “felt depressed and questioned whether there was something inherently wrong with the sexual orientation she was born with.” They said she had “difficulty controlling her emotions and cried a lot.”

The other woman “experienced extreme anger, outrage, embarrassment, exhaustion, frustration, intense sorrow and shame” simply because the Kleins refused to provide them with a wedding cake.

Jeez. That must have been one heck of a cake.

It sounds as if the state of Oregon is sending a stern warning to Christian business owners like the Kleins.

“Within Oregon’s public accommodations law is the basic principle of human decency that every person, regardless of their sexual orientation, has the freedom to fully participate in society,” the ruling states. “The ability to enter public places, to shop and dine, to move about unfettered by bigotry.”

Does The Bureau of Labor and Industry truly believe that Christians who want to follow the teachings of their faith are bigots?

It certainly seems to me the only entity guilty of unfettered bigotry is the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industry.

Since the day they turned away the lesbian couple’s business, the Kleins have suffered greatly. Their business was subjected to boycotts and pickets. LGBT activists and their supporters threatened any wedding vendor that did business with Sweet Cakes By Melissa.

Mrs. Klein told me her five children were subjected to death threats -- death threats for simply refusing to participate in a same-sex wedding. That doesn’t sound very tolerant to me.

Eventually, the bullying became so severe the family had to shut down their retail store and Mr. Klein had to take a job picking up garbage. Today, Mrs. Klein continues to make cakes in her home.

The Kleins had a choice. They could obey the government or they could obey God. They chose God –
and now they must pay the price.

“We were just running our business the best we could – following the Lord’s example,” she said. “I’m just blown away by the ruling. They are punishing us for not participating in the wedding.”

Mr. Klein said he plans on appealing the ruling and had harsh words for BOLI Commissioner Brad Avakian.

“This man has no power over me,” Klein said. “He seems to think he can tell me to be quiet. That doesn’t sit well with me and I refuse to comply.”

Mr. Klein accused the BOLI of ordering him to not speak publicly about the case – an order he said is unconstitutional.

“When my constitutional freedoms have been violated by the state I’m going to speak out,” he said. “That’s the way it is.”

Regardless, the Klein case has demonstrated once again that gay rights trump religious liberty. Other Christian business owners should pay close attention.

The Kleins had a choice. They could obey the government or they could obey God. They chose God – and now they must pay the price.

ARMY REFUSES TO PROVIDE HONOR GUARD FOR CHURCH’S JULY 4TH CELEBRATION

Todd’s American Dispatch

FOR NEARLY TWO DECADES, THE U.S. ARMY HAS PROVIDED AN HONOR GUARD FOR AN INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT A BAPTIST CHURCH THAT PREDATES THE FOUNDING OF THE NATION. BUT THIS YEAR –
THAT TRADITION HAS COME TO AN END.

Todd Starnes, Fox News & Commentary — Officials at Fort Gordon say they will not be able to send an honor guard to a July 5th service at Abilene Baptist Church because it violates a military policy banning any involvement in a religious service.

“While there are conditions under which the Army can participate in events conducted at a house of worship, we cannot participate in the context of a religious service,” Public Affairs Officer J.C. Mathews told me.

He said officials at Fort Gordon as well as the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate reviewed the church’s request and determined they were in fact holding a “religious service.”

So it’s OK to invite the troops so long as you don’t pray,
talk about Jesus or read the Bible?

“As a result, the Army is not permitted to take part,” Mathews said.

That policy would be an offense to most churches in America – but it is especially offensive when you consider the Army just refused to provide an honor guard for a church whose first pastor was a chaplain in the Revolutionary Army.

Abilene Baptist Church was founded in 1774 – one of Georgia’s most historic churches and the second oldest in the state. The founding pastor was arrested by a colonial magistrate for “preaching in Georgia” and the first pastor, Reverend Loveless Savage, was a chaplain in the Revolutionary Army.

“It was an absolute shock,” said Brad Whitt, the current pastor of Abilene Baptist Church. “What a sad commentary on the state of affairs in America – when we cannot even allow the flags to fly if they are in a church building.”

“We’ve had a tremendous working relationship with the fort,” he told me. “We’ve hosted all sorts of events for military families. We really try to show our love and respect and we try to honor our military folks.”

The July 5th church service is scheduled to be a “God and Country”-themed celebration with patriotic music and lots of red, white and blue. Afterwards, the church is hosting a Sunday picnic – complete with hot dogs and hamburgers. And for the sake of full disclosure, I’ve been invited to speak at the church service – as well as eat a hamburger afterwards.

Pastor Whitt said they were genuinely confused by the Army’s slight – seeing how Fort Gordon has been providing an honor guard for the past 20 years.

“They have participated for the past two decades and now they are saying – no,” he said. “This is just another example of the secularization of America.”

The church sent me photographs of the honor guard on the main platform of the church in 2007 and 2010. Last year, the church held their service in a local park – and once again – the military sent an honor guard.

So what changed?

Fort Gordon’s Public Affairs Office pointed me to Army Regulation 360-1 – dated May 2011.

The lengthy regulation states Army participation must not selectively benefit (or appear to benefit) any religious group. It also mandates that Army Public Affairs not support any event involving the promotion, endorsement or sponsorship of a religious movement.

According to public affairs, the 2007 church service was designated by the military as a “non-sectarian musical and patriotic program.”

According to the military’s calculations, 80 percent of the program was musical and the other 20 percent included narration and other patriotic elements.

“Because this was not a religious service, our participation was permitted,” he said.

He said the key is not whether the event is sponsored by a religious organization or held in a house of worship.

“Instead, the key factor is, whether or not the event is an actual religious service,” Mathews said.

So it’s okay to invite the troops so long as you don’t pray, talk about Jesus or read the Bible?

“That’s what makes this so sad,” Pastor Whitt told me. “This is what we’ve come to in our nation – where even just representing the colors is some sort of political thing.”

While the Pentagon won’t allow an honor guard to set foot in a church, they have no problem allowing them to march in a gay pride parade.

Last year the Department of Defense gave permission for an honor guard to participate in Washington, D.C.’s gay pride parade – a historic first. An honor guard is also expected to march in the 2015 Capital Pride parade.

So if a military honor guard can celebrate gay pride in a public parade, why can’t they celebrate American pride inside a Baptist church?

SCHOOL APOLOGIZES FOR BANNING JESUS

Todd’s American Dispatch

THE MESSAGE WAS CLEAR...
YOU CANNOT BE INSPIRED BY RELIGION

Todd Starnes, Fox News & Commentary —
UPDATE: Somerset Academy issued a formal written apology to 12-year-old Mackenzie Fraiser late Friday for denying her the right to use a Bible verse in a class assignment.

School officials have now agreed to allow the sixth-grader to resubmit her original project, this time with her favorite Bible verse -- John 3:16 -- included.

Original Story:

Mackenzie Fraiser is 12-years-old. She’s a sixth grader at Somerset Academy, a charter school in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Mackenzie is also a Christian.

In February, she was instructed by her technology teacher to create a PowerPoint demonstration about her life. One of the requirements was to include a slide with an inspirational message.

So Mackenzie decided to use a Bible verse – specifically John 3:16. That familiar passage reads: “For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

The teacher had a problem with Mackenzie’s
inspirational message. She explained to the class
that none of the students would be allowed to use
any Bible verses or quotations from the Book of
Mormon. The message was clear – you cannot be
inspired by religion.

The message was clear – you cannot be inspired by religion.

Mackenzie, whose father is a pastor, told me she was terribly disappointed and concerned.

“When I was told I couldn’t use a Bible verse, I was afraid I was doing something wrong,” she said.

So Mackenzie obeyed the teacher’s edict and settled for a mundane secular saying.

A few months later, the little girl received another assignment. This time, she was told to address the topic of self-esteem.

She discussed the assignment with her parents, Tim and Kate Fraiser. They suggested she acknowledge she derives her self-esteem from having been made in the image of God.

It was at that point, Mackenzie said she would not be allowed to mention the Almighty. Her teacher had once again barred any reference to faith in the technology classroom.

Tim thought his daughter must have been mistaken. Perhaps she misunderstood the teacher’s directive? So he fired off an email to the school seeking clarification.

The message he received was jaw dropping. The school confirmed that that teacher told students to refrain from using religious references. They said she was simply following “school law expectations.”

“The U.S. Department of Education states that students have the right to engage in voluntary prayer or religious discussion free from discrimination, but that does not include the right to have a captive audience listen or compel other students to participate,” read the email from Assistant Principal Jenyan Martinez.

“When Mackenzie created the project with the expectation she would present the Biblical saying to the class, the matter became one of having a captive audience that would be subject to her religious beliefs,” she added. “Had the assignment been designed to simply hand in for a grade, this would not have been an issue.”

The Fraisers contacted Liberty Institute, a religious liberty law firm that specializes in these sorts of legal disputes.

“Government officials telling little girls they can’t mention God is not the law,” said Liberty Institute President Kelly Shackelford. “It’s unlawful discrimination and it’s morally wrong.”

Liberty Institute attorney Jeremy Dys is representing the family. He said the U.S. Department of Education clearly permits students to use Bible verses in class assignments.

“If a school official tells students that their beliefs cannot be expressed in class assignments, it teaches them that religion is bad,” Dys told me. “This case really demonstrates why it is important to protect religious liberty."

They’ve given the school 10 days to remedy the situation – and that includes an apology and a promise not to censor religious content in assignments.

So here's what needs to happen. Somerset Academy needs to follow the law. They need to allow Mackenzie to redo her assignment with the Bible verses. And they need to apologize. If they fail to do so, the federal government should revoke their funding.

A few weeks ago the Department of Education threatened to withhold funding for any public school that did not protect the rights of transgender students. I believe schools should be held to the same standard for religious students.

LOUISANA RELIGIOUS LIBERTY BILL GOES DOWN IN DEFEAT AS REPUBLICANS SIDE WITH LGBT ACTIVISTS

Todd’s American Dispatch

Jesus Proclaims Prophecy For The Last Days

“Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank,
they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day
that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven,
and destroyed them all.”

Luke 17:28-29

Todd Starnes, Fox News & Commentary —

UPDATE: Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal issued an Executive Order late Tuesday to protect religious liberty and prevent the state from discriminating against those with deeply held religious beliefs.

“In Louisiana, the state should not be able to take adverse action against a person for their belief in traditional marriage,” Jindal said. “That’s why I’m issuing an Executive Order to prevent the state from discriminating against people, charities and family-owned businesses with deeply held religious beliefs that marriage is between one man and one woman.

Earlier story:

Louisiana Republican lawmakers sided with Democrats, big business and LGBT activists to kill a bill that would have protected individuals and religious institutions opposed to same-sex marriage.

In doing so, lawmakers defied the objections of an overwhelmingly majority of voters and handed Gov. Bobby Jindal a significant defeat for his legislative agenda.

A house legal committee voted 10-2 on Tuesday to shelve the Louisiana Marriage and Conscience Act – a measure that critics said could sanction discrimination against same-sex couples.

However, the proposed law clearly stated its sole purpose was to prevent the government from discriminating against a person or a non-profit because of their support for traditional marriage.

“These ten legislators voted today against freedom and against two-thirds of Louisianans who support the Marriage and Conscience Act,” said Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council and a supporter of the bill. “This is a failure of leadership and goes to the heart of what’s wrong with American politics today.”

Perkins was referring to a WPA poll commissioned by the Louisiana Family Forum and FRC that indicated 67 percent of likely voters supported the bill. Even more shocking – 63 percent of Democrats supported the bill.

“These elected leaders effectively endorsed government discrimination against individuals and nonprofits simply for believing in marriage between a man and a woman,” Perkins said. “No person or nonprofit should lose tax exempt status, face disqualification, lose a professional license or be punished by the government simply for believing what President Obama believed just three years ago – that marriage is the union of a man and a woman.”

Among those strong-arming the bill was IBM – which is building a technology jobs center in Baton Rouge. An IBM executive penned a letter to The Times-Picayune warning that “IBM will find it much harder to attract talent to Louisiana if this bill is passed and enacted into law.”

Gov. Jindal scoffed at such threats in an April 23 op-ed published by The New York Times.

“I have a clear message for any corporation that contemplates bullying our state: save your breath,” he wrote.

He said he would not be deterred by corporations that were pressured by radical liberals.

“As a nation we would not compel a priest, minister or rabbi to violate his conscience and perform a same-sex wedding ceremony,” Jindal wrote. “But a great many Americans who are not members of the clergy feel just as called to live their faith through their businesses. That’s why we should ensure that musicians, caterers, photographers and others should be immune from government coercion on deeply held religious convictions.”

Equality Louisiana accused Johnson of trying to bring discrimination to the state through the back door. They partnered with Louisiana Progress Action and other groups to oppose the bill.

“I remain convinced that the bill is bad for Louisiana – bad for our state’s economy and bad for our state’s people,” Equality Louisiana’s Matthew Patterson said in a statement.

State Rep. Mike Johnson authored the bill. The Republican, from Bossier City, took a beating not only from the Left – but also from fellow Republicans.

A Republican city councilman in Baton Rouge called him a “despicable bigot of the highest order.”

“It’s shameful,” Johnson told me. “He never met me before he said that. He never read the legislation. People will say what they say – I can’t control that.”

However, it appears that Republican lawmakers bought into the lies and distortions propagated by activists and big business.

“This bill is a simple measure to protect religious freedom,” Johnson said. “A few well-funded activist groups have intentionally mischaracterized the bill – spreading fear and intimidation and misinformation.”

Johnson said he was not at all surprised by the survey that found even Louisiana Democrats supported his doomed measure.

“The people of Louisiana are at their heart very patriotic, very conservative – even in the Democrat party,” he said. “They understand that religious liberty ought to be protected.”

Johnson said he has seen the future of religious liberty in America – and it is grim.

He foresees a day when Christian churches could lose their tax-exempt status and Christian schools could lose their accreditation. He foresees a day when those who refuse to endorse same-sex marriage could be prohibited from practicing their profession.

That’s why he pushed the legislation.

“If society’s views on marriage are going to change – if the Supreme Court declares there is a right to same-sex marriage – we have to do all we can to ensure that religious liberty is not a casualty of that new and emerging idea,” he said.

ANJEM CHOUDARY DEMANDS THE DEATH OF ‘JEWISH PIG’ PAMELA GELLER ON FOX NEWS

The Magazine Of Record For The Last Days
Are You Ready For What Comes Next?

Islamic Imam Anjem Choudary Told Pamela Geller
Tonight That She Should Be Slaughtered
For Her Texas Cartoon Contest

“And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.”

Genesis 16:12 (KJV)

Geoffrey Grider, Editor-in-chief and founder of NTEB — Muslim cleric Anjem Choudary, on Fox News yesterday, not only called for Sharia Law over all of America, he bluntly stated that the Jewish Pamela Geller was “worse than a pig”, and that she deserved to die. Welcome to another church service of the “religion of peace”

Choudary said Geller should be put before a court and tried, and she would end up punished. Geller shot back, “To blame me and say that my cartoons are controversial… murdering cartoonists is controversial.”

They got into a shouting match and Choudary told her she “knew the consequences.” They continued fighting, Choudary went off on a tangent about the U.S. “murdering innocent people,” and Hannity ended by calling him “evil and pathetic.”

The best exchange of the interview happened when Pam, who was constantly being interrupted by Choudary said, “I’m talking, sir… I know you’re used to stepping over women but you’re not going to have it here.”

That was awesome, she has more guts than any 10 of our political leaders combined. She’s as brave as she is beautiful.

We here at NTEB ask all Christians to pray for our friend Pamela Geller, that the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ would keep her safe.

Thank you.

MUHAMMAD CARTOON CONTEST: NOTE TO JIHADISTS, IN AMERICA, WE SHOOT BACK

Todd’s American Dispatch

 photo 050715AFBranco.jpg

A Pair Of Would-Be Jihadists
Learned A Very Important Lesson Last Weekend
– In America, We Shoot Back

“You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind each blade of grass. I fear all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”
[upon learning of the success of the Japanese raid on Pearl Harbor]

~ Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, Japanese Marshal Admiral,
Commander-in-Chief of the Combined Fleet during World War II

Todd Starnes, Fox News & Commentary — The men, believed to be radicalized roommates from Phoenix, tried to launch an attack on a gathering of freedom-lovers in of all places – the Lone Star State. It would turn out to be a most unfortunate decision.

It turned out those practicing their First Amendment rights were protected by those practicing their Second Amendment rights. Within a matter of moments – the jihadists were quickly dispatched to the Hereafter thanks to a straight-shooting traffic cop.

Authorities have yet to categorize it as a terrorist attack, but one thing is clear. Police thwarted what could have been an unprecedented massacre on American soil.

The intended target was a contest for cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad, hosted by the American Freedom Defense Initiative. Among the speakers were AFDI president Pamela Geller and Geert Wilders, a Dutch lawmaker known for his criticism of radical Islam.

Now, you may not agree with Miss Geller's tactics. Some might accuse her of poking a bear – and that may very well be true.

But Miss Geller does have Constitutional right to poke the bear. She does have a Constitutional right to free speech. And those who disagree with her have a Constitutional right to disagree.

But they do not have a constitutional right to gun down those who might say or write or draw something that disparages the Prophet Muhammad.

And we should be alarmed at the growing number of pundits and talking heads who are blaming Miss Geller for the attempted terrorist attack.

“Free speech aside, why would anyone do something as provocative as hosting a ‘Muhammad drawing contest,’” New York Times reporter Rukmini Callimachi tweeted.

And yet, the New York Times had no problems with the
“Piss Christ” art exhibit – that’s the one where a crucifix
was submerged in a jar of urine. The website Newsbusters
called the Times’ hypocrisy a “double-standard.”

“Freedom of speech does not extend to insulting the Messenger Muhammad (saw) & hence provoking the anger of ¼ of the world,” tweeted British political activist Anjem Choudary.

He went on to call Geller and Wilders and the American Freedom Defense Initiative “enemies of Islam and Muslims.”

Fox News contributor Katie Pavlich rightly called Choudary an “enemy to human kind.” Amen, sister.

The idea that Ms. Geller is somehow responsible for what happened is absurd.

“The gunmen are fighting against freedom of speech,” she told "Fox & Friends." “The First Amendment protects all speech – not just ideas that we like – but most particularly political speech. Who would decide what is good and what is forbidden? The Islamic State? Muslim Brotherhood groups? This is the key issue of our age.”

Aside from a brief mention in a press gaggle, the White House has been curiously quiet about the attack. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal called on the president to publicly condemn “radical Islam.”

“The truth of the matter is that even though President Obama will not admit it – Islam has a problem, and it is called radical Islam,” Jindal said in a statement. “And the proponents of radical Islam hate our First Amendment, they hate freedom of speech and they want to destroy it and us.”

Jindal also called on Muslim leaders to condemn the violence. He said it’s time for them to step up and “declare that perpetrators of such violence are the enemy, they are wrong, and they will not be rewarded in the afterlife.”

The cold hard reality is that we don’t know how many more radicalized Muslims might be living among us – waiting to wage jihad. Wilders sounded the alarm last week in Washington, D.C.

“I’m warning America,” he said. “Don’t think that what’s happening in Europe today, will not happen in America tomorrow – because it will.”

And it did.

UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND CANCELS ‘AMERICAN SNIPER’ AFTER MUSLIM STUDENTS COMPLAIN

Todd’s American Dispatch

Starnes: Muslims Put ‘American Sniper’ In The Crosshairs

Todd Starnes, Fox News & Commentary — The University of Maryland announced it will postpone indefinitely an upcoming screening of “American Sniper” after Muslim students protested –
calling the film Islamophobic, racist and nationalistic.

“American Sniper only perpetuates the spread of Islamophobia and is offensive to many Muslims around the world for good reason,” read a petition launched by the university’s Muslim Students Association. “This movie dehumanizes Muslim individuals, promotes the idea of senseless mass murder, and portrays negative and inaccurate stereotypes.”

The critically-acclaimed film about the life of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle was supposed to be screened May 6 and 7. It was “postponed” on April 22 by the university’s Student Entertainment Events (SEE).

While SEE did not mention the Muslim Students Association’s petition, they referenced a meeting with “concerned student organizations” about the film.

“SEE is choosing to explore the proactive measures of working with others during the coming months to possibly create an event where students can engage in constructive and moderated dialogues about the controversial topics proposed in the film,” read a statement from SEE posted on the university’s website.

The Muslim Students Association posted a Facebook message praising the university’s capitulation to their demands.

“We sincerely appreciate your commitment to exercising your freedom of speech to create an inclusive, just and safe campus community,” they wrote.

Breyer Hillegas, president of the university’s College Republicans, told me he was furious about the cancellation.

“Universities are always trying to satisfy the political correctness police and worry about who they might offend – rather than standing up for principle and the First Amendment of the Constitution,” Hillegas told me.

He said the College Republicans had been behind the effort to convince SEE to show the film.

“If the university prevents a movie like that from being show – it promotes intolerance and stifles dialogue and debate – and goes directly against the atmosphere that the University of Maryland is supposed to support,” he said.

But the Muslims Student Association said “American Sniper” creates a “dangerous climate for Muslim students and severely devalues the community atmosphere.”

The MSA said the only way to make the University of Maryland more inclusive and diverse is to prevent “American Sniper” from being shown on campus.

Hillegas told me that he strongly disagreed with those accusations and said the film shows “an accurate depiction of what went on.”

“’American Sniper’ is not about a racist, mass-murderer or criminal,” he said. “It’s about a decorated American war hero who served this country valiantly.”

It’s not the first time that Muslims and their supporters have tried to silence the film.

In early April the University of Michigan canceled a campus screening only to later reverse that decision after a national uproar.

Protestors at Eastern Michigan University disrupted a screening of the film and a petition drive was launched this week at George Mason University to ban the film from the Virginia campus.

Hillegas said the College Republicans are mobilizing to fight back and force the university to reinstate the screening.

“We’re going to fight it with all we have,” he told me.

However, SEE said there are no plans to reschedule the film this semester.

“SEE supports freedom of expression and hopes to create space for the airing of opposing viewpoints and differing perceptions,” their statement read.

That’s pretty ironic – touting their Constitutional bona-fides while stomping on the Constitution.

Somebody should tell the University of Maryland that we already have a space for the airing of opposing viewpoints and differing perceptions.

It’s called the United States of America.

ONE NATION UNDER ALLAH: FURY AFTER SCHOOL RECITES PLEDGE IN ARABIC

Todd’s American Dispatch

The Outrage Among Students Was So Significant
That The School Issued An Apology

Todd Starnes, Fox News & Commentary — Students at Pine Bush High School in Pine Bush, New York, knew right away there was something not quite right about the Pledge of Allegiance. That’s because the pledge was being recited in Arabic.

“One nation under Allah,” the student body president announced over the intercom system on Wednesday.

Reaction in the upstate New York high school was swift, and so was the backlash, The Times Herald-Record reports. Furious students tried to shout down the recitation in their classrooms. Other students sat down in protest.

School Superintendent Joan Carbone told the newspaper that the Arabic pledge “divided the school in half” – noting that many complaints came from Jewish parents and those who had lost family members fighting the war on terror.

The outrage among students was so significant that the school issued an apology.

“We sincerely apologize for having the Pledge of Allegiance recited this morning in the high school in a language other than English,” the apology read. “In our school district the Pledge of Allegiance will only be recited in English as recommended by the Commissioner of Education.”

Well, that’s somewhat reassuring.

However, state regulations do not mandate that the pledge be recited in a specific language. It recommends only specific wording.

108.5 Pledge to the flag.

(a) It is recommended that schools use the following pledge to the flag:

“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

(b) In giving the pledge to the flag, the procedure is to render the pledge by standing with the right hand over the heart.

The school said the pledge was recited in Arabic as a way to honor National Foreign Language Week “and in an effort to celebrate the many races, cultures and religions that make up this great country.” It said the pledge had been recited in other languages throughout the week.

That explanation didn’t set well with student Alex Krug.

“I think it should be said in English,” he told television station TWCNews.com. “It is foreign language week but we don’t even offer Arabic in Pine Bush High School.”

Andrew Zink, the student body president, defended what he did and said he would do it all over again – telling TWC News he “knew exactly what would happen” because “it’s the right thing to do.”

Zink wrote on his Twitter account: “To everyone who disagrees with my decisions, I respect your right to do so and hope we can have a productive conversation,”

Oh, there’s been no shortage of conversation around the small town.

“Thanks to the illegal invasion and the concept of ‘celebrate diversity,’ English is becoming a foreign language in America,” one critic wrote on the local newspaper’s website.

A writer who claimed to be an American of Arab Christian ancestry said he, too, was offended by what happened.

“The Pledge of Allegiance
isn’t a ‘salute’ to America,” he wrote.
“It’s a promise to be loyal to it.
Part of that loyalty should be to learn
English and integrating into our culture.”

Based on the comments made by the student body president, it appears the Arabic recitation was less about celebrating a foreign language and more about stirring up trouble.

In my most recent book, “God Less America,” I illustrate how the nation’s public schools have been turned into indoctrination centers [Common Core]. Teachers are preaching a liberal ideology. Our schoolhouses have become places where Christianity is marginalized and Islam is given accommodation.

PROFESSORS: US FLAG SYMBOLIZES RACISM, SHOULD NOT BE DISPLAYED ON CAMPUS

Todd’s American Dispatch

How Much Do These People Hate America? As Much As Someone Who Wants To Fundamentally Transform It?

Todd Starnes, Fox News & Commentary — A group of university professors has signed a letter showing their solidarity with students who tried to ban the American flag at the University of California, Irvine – because they said Old Glory contributes to racism.

“U.S. nationalism often contributes to racism and xenophobia, and that the paraphernalia of nationalism is in fact often used to intimidate,” read a letter obtained by the website Campus Reform.

A group of Californian lawmakers is
working on a bill that that would prohibit
publicly funded universities from banning
the American flag.

Hundreds across the nation have signed the letter – including some U.C. Irvine professors, Campus Reform reported.

"We admire the courage of the resolution's supporters amid this environment of political immaturity and threat, and support them unequivocally" the letter stated.

How those professors can sleep at night knowing their salaries are paid for by a bunch of xenophobic racists is beyond me.

On March 3 the U.C. Irvine student government association voted 6-4-2 to remove Old Glory from a campus lobby for the sake of cultural inclusivity.

The un-American knuckleheads blathered on about how "the American flag has been flown in instances of colonialism and imperialism."

Breitbart quoted an unnamed student who said the student government association feared the flag might hurt the feelings of illegal aliens.

“There were people who were like, ‘the flag triggers me’ – that was their exact wording, too,” the student said.

Over the weekend, the executive leadership of student government met and vetoed the legislation and by Monday the flag was once again posted in the campus lobby.

“Our campus is patriotic and proud,” student government President Reza Zomorrodian told me. “We did something right for our campus.”

A March 10th legislative meeting to discuss the controversy was canceled after the university received a “viable threat of violence.”

While the threat was not specific, university officials said they were taking the threat seriously and urged students to be diligent.

“Regardless of your opinion on the display of the American flag, we must be united in protecting the people who make this university a premier institution of higher learning,” Chancellor Howard Gillman wrote in a statement posted on the university’s website.

Meanwhile, a group of Californian lawmakers is working on a bill that that would prohibit publicly funded universities from banning the American flag.

Here’s how it should work: you ban the flag -- we ban your student loans.

I'm old school. Where I come from, you salute Old Glory, you don't toss it in a closet. You don't ban it.
