ISRAEL FOREIGN MINISTRY MOCKS MEDIA OVER GAZA COVERAGE

A Truthful And Balanced Perspective On Israel

“The Film Mocks Many Journalists With A Gentle Wink, Too Many Of Whom Are Blind To What Is Happening Around Them.”

Israel Today Staff — Israel’s Foreign Ministry this week published a YouTube video (see below) mocking the misleading coverage of last year’s Gaza war by the mainstream international media.

Repeatedly, the world’s biggest news outlets used images from other conflicts to depict the situation in Gaza, failed to put any blame for the dire conditions there on Hamas, and all but ignored terrorists using civilian population centers as cover for launching rockets at Israel.

These largely erroneous reports contributed to the predictably allegations of “war crimes” by Israel, which could soon lead to the Jewish state being dragged before the International Criminal Court in the Hague.

Despite overwhelming evidence of their faulty reporting (some self-acknowledged), the Foreign Press Association in Israel (FPA) was fuming on Tuesday over the Foreign Ministry’s playful video.

“Israel’s diplomatic corps wants to be taken seriously in the world. Posting misleading and poorly conceived videos on YouTube is inappropriate, unhelpful and undermines the ministry, which says it respects the foreign press and its freedom to work in Gaza,” the FPA complained in a press release.

A Foreign Ministry official said the FPA needs to lighten up.

“The film mocks many journalists with a gentle wink, too many of whom are blind to what is happening around them,” ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon told Ha’aretz.

‘COMMUNISTS!’ HOWARD STERN VOWS NEVER TO VOTE DEMOCRAT AGAIN, EVEN ‘IF GOD BECOMES A DEMOCRAT’

“Conservative News You Can Trust”

“I backed Hillary Clinton, I backed Al Gore,
I backed John Kerry. I am done with them.”

Michael Dorstewitz, BizPac Review — The Obama administration’s new plan to monitor newsrooms had the media in a frenzy this week. One famous shock-jock Howard Stern may just renew his vow to never vote Democrat again.

In a widely reported rant Stern had harsh things to say about Democrats and the FCC a few years back. Reminders of it have circulated all over social media recently.
Sirius Radio host Howard Stern is incensed that Democratic members of the Federal Communications Commission oppose his network’s upcoming merger with Satellite XM Radio. As a result, he vowed never to vote for another Democrat again.

Although the merger passed FCC scrutiny, it was done against the wishes of Democrats, who the “shock jock” called “communists” and “gangsters.”

He described a phone conversation he’d had with his agent earlier on his Friday show to sidekick Robin Quivers.

“I go, ‘That’s it!’” Stern said. “[I] go, ‘You know what Don, I’ve voted Republican and I’ve voted Democrat. I have vowed I will never vote for a Democrat again. I don’t give a [expletive] – no matter who they are. I don’t care if God becomes a Democrat.’ I said, ‘I backed Hillary Clinton, I backed Al Gore, I backed John Kerry. I am done with them.’”

NEW LAW ‘ALLOWS OBAMA TO TAKE OVER ALL MEDIA’

“Your Government Is Acting In Open,
Undeclared, But Blatant Treason”

Joe Kovacs, WND — An online radio host is sounding the alarm over a brand-new law he claims grants the federal government massive new powers to saturate Americans with domestic propaganda at U.S. taxpayer expense.

“This law allows the federal government to have sweeping power to push television, radio, newspaper and social-media propaganda onto the U.S. public,” warns Michael Evans of America’s Voice Now.

“It removes protection for Americans from the ideological diarrhea that will pour forth from this administration like ejected vomit.”

Evans is referring to the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012, sponsored by Rep. Mac Thornberry, R-Texas, and Rep. Adam Smith, D- Wash., which was inserted into the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act.

According to John Hudson of Foreign Policy Magazine, “For decades, a so-called anti-propaganda law prevented the U.S. government’s mammoth broadcasting arm from delivering programming to American audiences. But on July 2, that came silently to an end with the implementation of a new reform passed in January. The result: an unleashing of thousands of hours per week of government-funded radio and TV programs for domestic U.S. consumption in a reform initially criticized as a green light for U.S. domestic propaganda efforts.”

The U.S. government has been in the business of broadcasting news and opinions into foreign countries through such famous outlets as the Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, and the Middle East Broadcasting Networks.

But now, critics believe millions of dollars will be spent by the government trying to influence citizens within its own borders.

Evans says America has been protected from this over the years for good reason.

“The types of information that we promulgate overseas to foreigners is disinformation. It is meant to confuse, distract, redirect. It is not meant to be an informative source of news,” he explained.

“Don’t misunderstand what I’m saying. There is already, for all intents and purposes, an organization in the United States that does this. It’s called MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News. They are an arm of propaganda. But if you think things were bad before with those groups, wait till you see what’s gonna come out of them now. They’ll be reporting government misinformation as factual news stories, and a gullible American public will swallow it hook, line and sinker.”

The bill itself states: “The Secretary and the Broadcasting Board of Governors are authorized to use funds appropriated or otherwise made available for public diplomacy information programs to provide for the preparation, dissemination, and use of information intended for foreign audiences abroad about the United States, its people, and its policies, through press, publications, radio, motion pictures, the Internet, and other information media, including social media, and through information centers, instructors, and other direct or indirect means of communication. …

It also notes: “No funds authorized to be appropriated to the Department of State or the Broadcasting Board of Governors shall be used to influence public opinion in the United States.”

Yet there’s also a provision indicating produced material can be used inside the U.S., stating: “Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit the Department of State or the Broadcasting Board of Governors from engaging in any medium or form of communication, either directly or indirectly, because a United States domestic audience is or may be thereby exposed to program material, or based on a presumption of such exposure. Such material may be made available within the United States and disseminated … .”

Evans took special note about the funds “appropriated or otherwise made available.”

“It doesn’t open a door. It doesn’t open a window,” he explains. “It opens a wall that will allow NGOs, non-governmental organizations, who have a globalist ideology and a globalist agenda, to fund this type of abuse.”

Because the measure is so new, Evans says America hasn’t even begun to see its effects yet.

“All this nonsense about the Department of Justice organizing, participating and assisting in Trayvon Martin reprisal rallies – that’s exactly what you’re gonna get, and you’re gonna get it by a landslide. You haven’t even begun to smell the danger of this one yet, people. And here’s the worst part. You’ll never know if what you’re hearing is true news or propaganda. So the idea that there can be a news media that can inform the American public is forever gone. You’ll never know going forward if this is propaganda or if this is a news story.”

He continued: “The low-information, vast majority of America, the people who are willing to accept whatever is basically poured into their ears, will be so inundated with disinformation, they will never even be aware that they’re being played, that they are being used, that they are pawns for manipulation to achieve government’s nefarious ends. And I do mean nefarious because only a government who had evil intent would attempt to utilize a tactic like this.”

Evans is even breaking out the “T-word,” calling the measure “treason.”

“When you violate your oath and you work against the best interests of your nation willfully, knowingly, with malice aforethought, ladies and gentlemen, that qualifies as treason. I’m telling you now that your government is acting in open, undeclared, but blatant treason,” he said.

He also believes Americans will actually be paying for the propaganda used on them.

“The idea that you are willing to pay for your own demise through taxpayer-funded boondoggles like this and many others is an unconscionable use of the taxing authority,” Evans said.

Lynne Weil, a spokeswoman for the Broadcasting Board of Governors, denies her agency is a propaganda outlet, and maintains current BBG services such as the Voice of America “present fair and accurate news.”

“They don’t shy away from stories that don’t shed the best light on the United States,” she told Foreign Policy. “Our journalists provide what many people cannot get locally: uncensored news, responsible discussion, and open debate.”

Congressman Smith has vehemently denied the claim of domestic propaganda, saying the measure “does not authorize any U.S. government agency to develop propaganda for a domestic audience nor is that our intent.”

He says it’s “intended to provide greater transparency and to ensure the U.S. government can get factual information out to foreign audiences in a timely manner for many reasons including countering extremist misinformation and propaganda. It does not and is not in any way intended to ‘legalize the use of propaganda on American audiences,’ it does not neutralize or repeal Smith-Mundt and, in fact, it specifically ensures that the content to be rebroadcast or republished domestically by the Department of State and the Broadcasting Board of Governors shall not influence public opinion in the U.S.”

Foreign Policy pointed to the dangers of domestic propaganda efforts, citing examples from the past 12 months.
Last year, two USA Today journalists were ensnared in a propaganda campaign after reporting about millions of dollars in back taxes owed by the Pentagon’s top propaganda contractor in Afghanistan. Eventually, one of the co-owners of the firm confessed to creating phony websites and Twitter accounts to smear the journalists anonymously.

Additionally, just this month, the Washington Post exposed a counter-propaganda program by the Pentagon that recommended posting comments on a U.S. website run by a Somali expat with readers opposing al-Shabab (an Islamist militia in Somalia). “Today, the military is more focused on manipulating news and commentary on the Internet, especially social media, by posting material and images without necessarily claiming ownership,” reported the Post.

Show Description:
While anti-bullying campaigns are all the rage in schools today, outside of that environment there are still those who are bent on violence. Imagine people who look for others to punch to the point of knocking the person unconscious or dead and doing it all for amusement. It's called The Knockout Game and it's been known to occur in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Illinois and Missouri. This kind of activity is a real threat and is just part of the mob violence problem that is occurring across America.

Discussing this topic was Colin Flaherty, a columnist with WND (WorldNetDaily). He deals with this problem in his book, "White Girl Bleed a Lot-The Return of Racial Violence and How the Media Ignore It."

Is concealed carry the answer? Why are some authorities and the media seemingly looking the other way? Why are the predators being viewed by some as victims? These and other similar questions are considered as Vic and Colin take a careful look at this frightening phenomenon.

Imagine your body becoming a numerical signal that can be used for authentication to make purchases, log on to smart-phones, to start a car, etc. Imagine this being accomplished with an electronic tattoo which is actually a sticker that's an RFID tag. This tag would make you an antenna that transmits your number everywhere you go.

Then there's “vitamin authentication”. In this case you would swallow an RFID laced pill. As it works its way through your system the radio microchip in the pill would react with the acids in your stomach to create a battery that would turn your body into an antenna. So as you touch your computer, smart-phone or other similar hi-tech device, you would be transmitting your authentication code (your unique I.D. number). No need to remember passwords!

Does this sound like science fiction or perhaps another step toward a “mark of the beast”? Learn more as Dr. Albrecht explains not only these staggering new technologies in the works, but why privacy concerns that may have seemed like conspiracy theories in the past are now genuine concerns.

SPY STATE SHOCK: GMAIL, YAHOO MAIL, FACEBOOK, SKYPE, AOL, APPLE ALL SECRETLY SHARING PRIVATE USER COMMUNICATIONS WITH NSA

The Internet From Hell
‘All Your Info Belong To Us

Mike Adams, The Health Ranger Editor, Natural News — In a week that has already been rocked by one explosive government spy scandal involving the NSA scooping up phone call data and geographic locations of Verizon customers, another scandalous discovery has just erupted that's sure to "wake up" millions of Americans who have been living in denial.

"The National Security Agency and the FBI are tapping directly into the central servers of nine leading U.S. Internet companies, extracting audio, video, photographs, e-mails, documents and connection logs that enable analysts to track a person’s movements and contacts over time," reports the Washington Post in an explosive investigative article.

Top secret documents obtained by the Washington Post show that nearly all the top internet services -- Microsoft Hotmail, Google Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Facebook, Skype, AOL, Apple, Youtube and PalTalk -- are all sharing ALL your user communications with the federal government. Dropbox is reportedly "coming soon."

As the Washington Post explains:

Through a top-secret program authorized by federal judges working under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), the U.S. intelligence community can gain access to the servers of nine Internet companies for a wide range of digital data. Documents describing the previously undisclosed program, obtained by The Washington Post, show the breadth of U.S. electronic surveillance capabilities in the wake of a widely publicized controversy over warrantless wiretapping of U.S. domestic telephone communications in 2005.

The types of data these services allow the government to surveil include emails, audio chats, video chats, text chats, photos, usernames, passwords, file transfers, VoIP sessions and much more. Users of Google Drive will be shocked to learn that the NSA has full access to all their private files stored on Google Drive. In effect, these services take every communication initiated by their users and turn it over to the NSA. All these internet services are operating in conspiracy with a criminal government that believes there are absolutely no limits to its power and that it can spy and snoop on all Americans.

When you are calling friends on your iPhone, or chatting over Skype, or emailing someone on Gmail or Yahoo Mail, everything you type, speak, attach or send is being systematically siphoned up, databased and tracked by the U.S. government.

This is all revealed in "PRISM slide #4," which was leaked to the Washington Post. Here's the slide image, just in case it gets yanked from WashPo:

Timeline of Betrayal

The collection of private user data under the PRISM program began on September 11, 2007, with Microsoft (Hotmail) turning over private emails. Every Hotmail email sent since 2007 has been surveiled and tracked by the NSA.

Here are the dates of "activation" when the NSA began collecting private user data from internet service providers:

September, 2007 - Microsoft / Hotmail
March, 2008 - Yahoo Mail
January, 2009 - Google Gmail
June, 2009 - Facebook
December, 2009 - Paltalk
September, 2010 - YouTube
February, 2011 - Skype
March, 2011 - AOL
October, 2012 - Apple

This is detailed in "PRISM slide #5" shown below:

Total Bust For Any Remaining Trust
In Cloud Computing

Beyond all the astonishing implications of this discovery which merit a full discussion separate from this article, this revelation is bound to shatter any remaining trust in so-called "cloud computing."

Anyone and everyone using Google applications that store files online -- or using online file backup or storage services -- must now assume the NSA is capturing and scanning all their files. The internet police state is operating in full force, and absolutely nothing is safe from its prying eyes... not even your photos and private files.

And while many people were aware that services like Google and Yahoo were scanning their emails in order to show them related advertising on other websites they surf, virtually no one believed that Microsoft, Google, Yahoo and AOL were systematically turning over all their private emails to the government.

That very idea, in fact, was called a "conspiracy theory" until this very day. Anyone who suggested this was taking place -- like Alex Jones -- was branded a loon. (Will the media now apologize to him for warning of this exact thing? I doubt it...)

But now it's all confirmed. The government isn't just reaching down your pants at the airport; it's reaching into your private phone calls, emails, bank account activities, family photos, online storage files, Skype chats, Skype calls and everything else.

The Bush-Obama Surveillance Nightmare

This police state surveillance nightmare was started by Bush but continued by Obama. Ron Fournier has penned an excellent article on this very topic, entitled Welcome to the Bush-Obama White House: They're Spying on Us.

These revelations are so shocking that even the New York Times is starting to awaken to the reality of the police state, saying the Obama administration "...has now lost all credibility on this issue" and following that up with, "Mr. Obama is proving the truism that the executive will use any power it is given and very likely abuse it."

The NYT goes on to call the Patriot Act "reckless in its assignment of unnecessary and overbroad surveillance powers."

It's right about that, of course. And it brings up an inconvenient fact that many Republicans have forgotten: All this police state surveillance expansion was started in the Bush era. It was all "legalized" in the frenzied aftermath of 9/11, which now completely explains why rogue elements working within the government plotted the 9/11 attacks and allowed them to be carried out by standing down defense forces which could have prevented it.

The Real Purpose Of The Bush-Era Patriot Act

The entire purpose of 9/11 was to thrust Americans into a state of irrational fear so that they would support even the most insane, draconian, police state laws such as the Patriot Act. Republicans were beating their war drums and cheering the passage of this law!

Now, of course, they incorrectly blame Obama for the police state. But Obama is only half to blame: he didn't start these activities but he sure continued them. And in some ways, Obama found new opportunities to exploit and abuse government power beyond what even Bush could have imagined. The due of Bush + Obama is an absolute train wreck of criminality, spookiness and the abandonment of all rights and protections for the People.

Everybody is to blame for this. Bush supporters let this happen and Obama supporters let it ride. All along, neither party demanded the government limit its powers and abide by the Constitution. Only Ron Paul and a few libertarians carried that torch for the last 12 years, but they were shouted down by the establishment media which pretended the police state didn't exist at all.

So don't expect any miracles to occur when talking about dismantling this police state nightmare that smacks of North Korea: both political parties are huge believers in government abuse of power and the use of government to dominate, intimidate, censor, oppress, track and surveil innocent Americans. In fact, their entire power base depends on this.

Because if Americans were free to openly share ideas without fear of intimidation, they might discuss truly revolutionary ideas like eliminating the IRS, arresting all the war criminals in the U.S. Senate, or even marching on the White House and throwing the gangsters out of office.

REAL REASON FBI RELEASED PICS

WaPo: Police Released Boston Suspects’ Photos to
‘Limit the Damage’ Being Done by Reddit, Media

Special Agent in Charge of the FBI s Boston Field Office Richard DesLauriers addresses the media during a news conference talking about the investigation of the Boston Marathon explosions, Thursday, April 18, 2013, in Boston. (AP)

Madeleine Morgenstern, TheBlaze — The decision to release images of the men later identified as Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev came partly because investigators wanted to “limit the damage” being done by amateur Internet sleuths and the news media in fingering the wrong people as suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings.

The Washington Post reported that after Monday’s attacks, investigators filled a Boston warehouse with hundreds of pieces of bloody clothing, shoes and other evidence from the scene on one side, and sat poring over hours and hours of video on the other. After several days, analysts focused on the black-hatted and white-hatted suspects, known for a time as Suspect No. 1 and Suspect No. 2.

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick (D) told the Post that the reaction of Suspect No. 2 — identified as 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, now hospitalized after his capture Friday night – to the first explosion provided “highly incriminating” evidence and is “a lot more than the public knows.”

Investigators settled on the image of Suspect No. 2 on Wednesday, but the massive effort to identify the bombers was still raging on Internet sites including Reddit.com and on the front page of the New York Post, the Washington Post reported:
[On one Reddit forum], since removed from the site, users compiled thousands of photos, studied them for suspicious backpacks and sent their favorite theories spinning out into the wider Internet.

“Find people carrying black bags,” wrote the Reddit forum’s unnamed moderator. “If they look suspicious, then post them. Then people will try and follow their movements using all the images.”

The moderator defended this strategy by arguing that “it’s been proven that a crowd of thousands can do things like this much quicker and better. . . . I’d take thousands of people over a select few very smart investigators any day.”

In addition to being almost universally wrong, the theories developed via social media complicated the official investigation, according to law enforcement officials. Those officials said Saturday that the decision on Thursday to release photos of the two men in baseball caps was meant in part to limit the damage being done to people who were wrongly being targeted as suspects in the news media and on the Internet.

This image taken from video released by the FBI on Thursday, April 18, 2013 shows what the FBI are calling Suspect No. 1, front, in black cap, and Suspect No. 2, in white cap, back right, walking near each other through the crowd in Boston on Monday, April 15, 2013, before the explosions at the Boston Marathon. (AP)

According to the Post, once Suspect No. 1 and No. 2 were identified, there were other considerations in the decision to release their images to the public. Investigators didn’t want to risk having news outlets actually discover them first, thereby possibly creating doubt that the Tsarnaev brothers had been wrongly identified, like others before them. Additionally, they were concerned that if they didn’t have control over the release of the photos, the manhunt would spiral out of control with the news media and “online vigilante detectives” competing with police to find the suspects

President Barack Obama was shown images of the brothers Thursday afternoon during a briefing. He was not asked to approve their release, but did caution officials to be certain they had the right suspects before putting their pictures out.

It’s possible, Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis told the Post, that releasing images of the brothers might have triggered their violent rampage Thursday night. Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer Sean Collier was slain in a confrontation with the suspects, and Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed after a shootout with police.

“We may have forced their hands by releasing the videos,” Davis told the newspaper. But he believes it was the right call: “I truly believe they were planning more attacks, based on the evidence we saw at Watertown. I think that by forcing their hand, we saved a much larger loss of life. . . . These individuals were bent on murder and mayhem.” » Full Article
