On Today’s Show (June 18, 2014): Guest Mat Staver is the Founder, President and General Counsel of Liberty Counsel, an international, non-profit litigation education and policy organization dedicated to advancing religious freedom, the sanctity of life and the family. As reported on previous Crosstalk programs (See Crosstalk--April 1 and May 5), in January of 2013 Justina Pelletier (then 14 years old) developed flu-like symptoms and could not eat. She had been diagnosed by a doctor at Tufts Medical Center in Boston with a mitochondrial disease. At the advice of this same doctor she was taken to Boston's Children's Hospital because Justina's gastroenterologist had moved to that hospital.

After taking her to BCH she was seen, not by her gastrointestinal doctor, but by a doctor who had been out of medical school for 7 months. He did not consult the treating physicians, did not look at other medical records and in the end, he disagreed with the diagnosis. He felt the problem was not physical but mental. A psychologist was brought in and it was determined that Justina had a somatoform disorder (it's all in her head) despite the fact that all possible physical conditions were not ruled out.

Due to Mat's work and the prayers of many, Justina Pelletier is no longer in the custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families and is now home with her family.

Regarding the main topic, Liberty Counsel Action has put together a petition to the House of Representatives to draft articles of impeachment against President Barack Obama.

The reason Liberty Counsel Action is doing this is because Mat believes the President has committed impeachable offenses. Mat feels the list is so long you don't know where to begin. However, the one offense that stands out is the trade of 5 high level terrorists (who were released in Qatar) for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, a man whose behavior resulted in the loss of the lives of soldiers. The President failed to consult with Congress in spite of a specific law that requires 30 days notice in such matters.

Combine this with the Benghazi and IRS scandals and Mat believes these alone are enough to obtain the necessary number of votes in the House of Representatives to get President Obama charged with impeachment. With the right number of changes in the Senate in November, he also believes there could be enough votes there to bring a conviction.

Ahuva Balofsky, Breaking Israel News (BIN) — United States Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) issued a strong supportive statement in the face of the recent kidnapping of three Israeli teenagers on Thursday evening. Eyal Yifrach, 19, and Naftali Frenkel and Gilad Shaar, both 16, disappeared on their way home from high school in the Gush Etzion area of Judea. All three youths are Israeli, but Frenkel holds US citizenship, as well.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the three Jewish teenagers, two Israelis and one American, who have been kidnapped by radical Islamic terrorists. This atrocity against both our nations reminds us that we face a mutual enemy who attacks us because of our shared commitment to the basic principles of freedom.”

Cruz acknowledged how US choices may have influenced the current circumstances.

“This act of terrorism should also alert the Obama Administration to the fact that working with, recognizing, and/or funding any ‘unity’ government that includes those that seek the destruction of the Jewish State is naive and foolish. Such legitimization of the enemies of Israel and the United States only invites more violence,” he said.

“As Prime Minister Netanyahu pointed out, ‘You remember that Israel warned the international community about the dangers of endorsing the Fatah-Hamas unity pact. The dangers of that pact now should be abundantly clear to all,” the senator added.

Cruz demanded the Obama administration to cut funding to the Palestinian Authority in response to the kidnappings.

“President Obama should immediately direct the Department of State to suspend assistance to the Palestinian Authority until the PA recognizes Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state and takes specific and affirmative steps to renounce and eradicate terrorism. This most recent vicious attack on innocent young civilians demonstrates beyond any doubt that the PA is not fulfilling these conditions, and not one more U.S. taxpayer dollar should be sent to support them until they do,” he stated.

Cruz’s comments were welcome after US Secretary of State John Kerry’s lackluster response. Kerry issued a statement in the wake of the kidnapping, but only several days after the fact, and has neglected to mention the incident since.

Kerry’s “strong condemnation” did not carry with it any sort of change in US policy, despite recognizing that “many indications point to Hamas’ involvement.” Knowing that Hamas “is a terrorist organization known for its attacks on innocent civilians and which has used kidnapping in the past” did not deter the US government from agreeing to interact with the PA’s Hamas-Fatah unity government.

Kerry also made no mention of the fact that one of the boys, Frenkel, is an American citizen and thus the US government’s responsibility, as well.

A petition has been started to pressure the US government to demand the release of Frenkel, and by extension, his fellow victims. The petition can be found here. 100,000 signatures are needed for policy experts to officially address the issue. » Full Article

Petition: Obama’s Presidency ‘Without Doubt
The Most Lawless In Modern History’

WND EXCLUSIVE — America lost four lives at Benghazi, ignoring warnings and pleas for help, under President Barack Obama.

Perhaps thousands of veterans have died because of systemic Veterans Affairs Department problems, under Obama.

Conservatives were discriminated against by the Internal Revenue Service, apparently to minimize their effectiveness in the 2012 elections, under Obama.

During a budget crunch, veterans were unnecessarily blocked from visiting the World War II monument honoring their service, under Obama.

The list goes on, including the Fast and Furious gunrunning scandal and the use of “czars” to bypass congressional accountability.

And now, in exchange for an alleged deserter and possibly a traitor, Obama has freed five dedicated Taliban leaders who once worked against the United States and, by the president’s own admission, probably will again.

In response, a petition asks whether Americans have had enough and would be willing to tell Congress to change the title of the former community organizer to former president.

“Members of Congress, we respectfully remind you that you have sworn a solemn oath to uphold the Constitution,” the petition explains. “This president despises the Constitution, and it shows in everything he does. To allow a president to abuse his high office so routinely and egregiously without employing the one remedy the Founding Fathers entrusted to you as the ultimate check on a dangerously imperial president, would be unthinkable.

“We urge you therefore to find the courage of your deepest convictions and boldly come to the rescue of your nation,” the petition concludes, “before it is too late.”

Addressed to Congress, the petition details Obama’s “lawlessness,” his “repeated flagrant violations of law” and his “nonstop scandals.”

Obama has repeatedly displayed his “profound disregard for the American military,” it continues.

“Obama, despite urgent warnings from the Pentagon, despite federal law requiring that he consult Congress, and despite federal law against aiding terrorists, traded five of the most dangerous terrorists in the world, detained at Guantanamo Bay, for the release of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who – according to all the soldiers in his platoon, and later confirmed officially by the Army – deserted his fellow soldiers in Afghanistan,” it continues.

Lt. Gen. William Boykin, former commander of the Army’s elite Delta Force, has pointed out that desertion in a combat zone is punishable by death.

“That should give you some indication as to how serious this is taken,” he said. “When a man walks off and leaves his post in combat, he jeopardizes everybody else.”

The petition continues:

Whereas, at least six soldiers – and as many as 14, according to some expert military sources – died while hunting for Bergdahl in Afghanistan after he went missing;

Whereas, both of Bergdahl’s platoon leaders were eyewitnesses to radio communications saying the deserting soldier was actively seeking out the Taliban, a fact corroborated by Afghan villagers interviewed by the Washington Post who saw Bergdahl shortly after he deserted his base and said he “seemed to be deliberately heading for Taliban strongholds”;

Whereas, Obama’s national security adviser, Susan Rice, in a surreal replay of her televised Sunday talk-show cover-up lies about Benghazi, insisted on a Sunday talk show that Bergdahl – who shortly before deserting emailed his parents, “I am ashamed to be an American, and the title of U.S. soldier is just the life of fools” – had served his country “with honor and distinction”;

Whereas, the White House is now accusing the soldiers who faithfully served with Bergdahl and whose lives were endangered by his desertion, of “Swift Boating” Bergdahl – in other words, of lying about him;

Whereas, the former federal prosecutor who obtained the conviction of the mastermind behind the first Islamic terror bombing of New York’s World Trade Center, Andrew McCarthy, says that by transferring five terrorists to Qatar during wartime, in exchange for Bergdahl’s release, Obama “violates the law against material support to terrorism” – which, says McCarthy, is an “impeachable offense,” an assessment affirmed by former Judge Andrew Napolitano;

Whereas, Gen. Boykin agrees that Obama is guilty of “high crimes and misdemeanors” for once again ignoring federal law in pursuit of an administration goal;

Whereas, Obama has publicly admitted it’s “absolutely” possible the five terrorists he freed from Guantanamo Bay could rejoin terrorist cells and harm Americans;

Whereas, liberal law professor Jonathan Turley says Obama’s deserter-for- terrorists deal proves that “what’s emerging is an imperial presidency,” causing America’s core governmental system to “shut down,” and adding, “Barack Obama is really the president Richard Nixon always wanted to be. … He’s been allowed to act unilaterally in a way that we’ve fought for decades”;

Whereas, former U.S. congressman, Col. Allen West says: “Obama’s breaking of the law in this case presents serious national security concerns for all Americans. This is aiding and abetting the enemy, which goes along with the collusion of this administration with Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated organizations and supplying weapons and arms to Islamists” – and concludes, “I submit that Barack Hussein Obama’s unilateral negotiations with terrorists and the ensuing release of their key leadership without consult – mandated by law – with the U.S. Congress represents high crimes and misdemeanors, an impeachable offense”;

Whereas, the White House admits Obama broke the law, later “apologizing” to Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein, D.-Calif., for failing to alert her in advance of the decision to release the top five Taliban commanders;

Whereas, both left and right agree that Americans around the world are now in danger of being abducted by terrorists for ransom or prisoner exchange, with the top-ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, calling Obama’s action a “dangerous precedent that puts all Americans at risk throughout the world”;

Whereas, top constitutional attorneys from across the political spectrum have already agreed – even before the illegal and reckless deserter-for-terrorists swap, that Obama has committed multiple, specific offenses that unquestionably rise to the level of impeachable “high crimes and misdemeanors”:

“Therefore, we the undersigned urge the U.S. House of Representatives to act now and file articles of impeachment against Barack Hussein Obama. Not only is he unquestionably guilty of impeachable offenses, like the Benghazi cover-up and gross politicization of the IRS, but he is now seriously endangering the national security of Americans both at home and abroad. In addition to willfully disregarding the law and the Constitution at every turn, Barack Obama has proven he is more willing to negotiate with terrorists than with congressional Republicans,” says the petition.

RUSH: Senator Cruz, I know you’re limited time here. Thanks very much for joining us. How are you today, sir?

CRUZ: Rush, I’m doing terrific, and it is always a real privilege and honor to join you.

RUSH: Well, I’m glad to have you here. There’s a big argument. Let’s just cut to the chase here on Obamacare. The arguments are: Delay it/defund it. You’re part of the defund it side. You think it can happen via the continuing resolution debate the end of September. The delay crowd and the people opposed to this say, “No, no, no! A government shutdown’s part of this and look what happened the last time the government was shut down in ’95. Look what happened to Republicans then.” How do you deal with this? What do you tell people that raise these objections?

CRUZ: Well, part of the problem with the delay crowd is they don’t have a plan to actually get it done. When they say they want to delay it, what they really mean is they want to take a symbolic vote on a delay but not tie it to anything that has to pass. So the House can take a thousand symbolic votes if they want. Harry Reid will not allow any of them to pass into law. So it becomes an exercise of just political cover rather than actually fixing the problem.

Look, Rush, Obamacare, as you know, is the biggest job killer in the country, and the wheels are falling off of this thing. I mean, there is bipartisan agreement it’s not working. The unions are jumping ship. People are losing their jobs. They’re having their hours forcibly reduced. Just last week UPS told 18,000 employees, “You’re losing your spousal coverage. Your husbands and wives are losing their health insurance because of Obamacare.”

And unfortunately right now, Republicans are still not ready to stand up and do what it takes to stop this law, to listen to the American people and say, “Listen, let’s get rid of this job killer.” The only plan that has been put forward that has any realistic prospect of success, of actually stopping Obamacare, is using the continuing resolution on September 30th and saying, “We will not fund one penny of Obamacare.”

If we can get 41 Republicans in the Senate to do that, or 218 Republicans in the House, we have the votes to do it, but we gotta get those votes — and right now, far too many Republicans are scared of this fight. » Read Full Transcript At ‘The Rush Limbaugh Show’

Problem #28, Death panels confirmed: Physician and former DNC Chairman Howard Dean wrote an editorial in July essentially confirming Sarah Palin’s contention that Obamacare will have a “death panel.” Palin was excoriated for her assertion by the administration and the mainstream media. PolitiFact.com even dubbed it 2009's “Lie of the Year.” But Dean confirmed the Independent Payment Advisory Board, or IPAB, “is essentially a health-care rationing body” that will “be able to stop certain treatments its members do not favor by simply setting rates to levels where no doctor or hospital will perform them.” The rationing board will decide whether or not some patients get potentially life-saving treatments, which is basically how Palin described “death panel” in her 2009 Facebook post.
