THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION WANTS GUN OWNERS TO WEAR RFID TRACKING BRACELETS?

“Waking People Up And Getting Them To Realize That
The American Dream Is Quickly Becoming The American Nightmare”

But if Obama and Holder have their way, almost
the entire country will eventually be unarmed.

By Michael Snyder, The American Dream — Attorney General Eric Holder says that gun owners in the United States could eventually be forced to wear RFID tracking bracelets. In fact, in recent testimony in front of Congress he gave the impression that this was something that the Obama administration has been thinking about for quite a long time. Holder seems to think that this would advance the cause of “gun safety” and that gun owners wouldn’t mind having an RFID microchip tracking their every movement. Apparently he does not know gun owners very well, because most of the gun owners that I know would be extremely resistant to the idea of being “chipped”. But this is yet another example of how the Obama administration plans to erode Second Amendment rights. They want to put up as many obstacles as possible to owning and using guns.

When I first came across the testimony by Eric Holder that I am about to share with you, I could hardly believe it. This seemed like something that you would see on “The Onion” or on some other satire website. But this is very, very real. Eric Holder really does seem quite interested in having gun owners wear RFID tracking bracelets. Just check out the following quotes from Holder that come from a recent Free Beacon article
“I think that one of the things that we learned when we were trying to get passed those common sense reforms last year, Vice President Biden and I had a meeting with a group of technology people and we talked about how guns can be made more safe,” he said.

“By making them either through finger print identification, the gun talks to a bracelet or something that you might wear, how guns can be used only by the person who is lawfully in possession of the weapon.”

“It’s those kinds of things that I think we want to try to explore so that we can make sure that people have the ability to enjoy their Second Amendment rights, but at the same time decreasing the misuse of weapons that lead to the kinds of things that we see on a daily basis,” Holder said.
Video of Holder making these comments to Congress is posted below

Eric Holder on Gun Safety

So would you be willing to wear a government-issued RFID tracking bracelet in order to own a gun?

Of course not.

And such a thing would essentially be a de facto system of gun registration. It would be inevitable that all of the information about the guns and their matching gun owners would be stored in a massive government database somewhere.

In addition, it is also conceivable that under such a system that the authorities could use it to physically track the location of guns and gun owners at all times. Some have suggested that this would be good for us because it would mean that law enforcement agencies could “send automatic alerts if a weapon moves away from the tracker, indicating that the gun is lost or stolen”.

But do we really want the government to know where they can find us and our guns 24 hours a day on a permanent basis?

That would give them the perfect tool if they wanted to implement a widespread policy of gun confiscation someday.

Look, I am all in favor of making guns safer. But in the end, that is not what this is about. Just like all other recent presidential administrations, the Obama administration is eroding our liberties and freedoms on a daily basis. We are becoming a “Big Brother society”, and they will keep pushing the envelope until the American people demand that they stop. The following is an excerpt from an outstanding commentary by John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute
Adding injury to the ongoing insult of having our tax dollars misused and our so-called representatives bought and paid for by the moneyed elite, the government then turns around and uses the money we earn with our blood, sweat and tears to target, imprison and entrap us, in the form of militarized police, surveillance cameras, private prisons, license plate readers, drones, and cell phone tracking technology.

All of those nefarious deeds that you read about in the paper every day: those are your tax dollars at work. It’s your money that allows for government agents to spy on your emails, your phone calls, your text messages, and your movements. It’s your money that allows out-of-control police officers to burst into innocent people’s homes, or probe and strip search motorists on the side of the road. And it’s your money that leads to innocent Americans across the country being prosecuted for innocuous activities such as raising chickens at home, growing vegetable gardens, and trying to live off the grid.
The Obama administration has been very open about the fact that it is anti-gun.

They do not like the fact that tens of millions of Americans currently own guns.

People like Obama and Holder are fully convinced that guns make society less safe, even though the cold, hard statistics show just the opposite.

Most people just want to be able to protect their homes and their families. Because when a home invader breaks in, you never know what is going to happen
A man breaking into a Winter Haven home Monday morning was shot and killed by the family living there, Police Chief Gary Hester said.

It happened at a little before 7 a.m. on Lake Marriana Road Drive. A mother, father, and son woke up to the sound of someone, identified by police as 40-year-old Mitchell Large, trying to get in through a porch door.

Chief Hester said one of the family members fired a warning shot.

“[A resident] fired a warning shot above the door. That warning shot did not deter the intruder. The intruder didn’t retreat,” Hester said.
According to politicians such as Obama and Holder, we are just supposed to allow home invaders to take whatever they want, do whatever they want to our wives and children, and then call the police when it is all over so that they can file a report.

What do you think would have happened if that family had been unarmed when that home intruder had entered their home?

That is frightening to think about.

But if Obama and Holder have their way, almost the entire country will eventually be unarmed.

OFFICIALS IN CONNECTICUT STUNNED BY WHAT COULD BE A MASSIVE, STATE-WIDE ACT OF ‘CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE’ BY GUN OWNERS

Hastily-Passed Gun Control Law Turns Tens of Thousands of Legal Gun Owners Under The U.S. Constitution Into Felons Overnight

Jason Howerton, TheBlaze — On Jan. 1, 2014, tens of thousands of defiant gun owners seemingly made the choice not to register their semi-automatic rifles with the state of Connecticut as required by a hastily-passed gun control law. By possessing unregistered so-called “assault rifles,” they all technically became guilty of committing Class D felonies overnight.

Police had received 47,916 applications for “assault weapons certificates” and 21,000 incomplete applications as of Dec. 31, Lt. Paul Vance told The Courant.

At roughly 50,000 applications, officials estimate that as little as 15 percent of the covered semi-automatic rifles have actually been registered with the state. “No one has anything close to definitive figures, but the most conservative estimates place the number of unregistered assault weapons well above 50,000, and perhaps as high as 350,000,” the report states.

Needless to say, officials and some lawmakers are stunned.

You may recall the viral photo of Connecticut gun owners waiting in line to register their guns in December, which one person said reminded them of the “Weimar Germany.”

Linkster Question: How many of these gun owners are criminals who are registering their illegal weapons?

Republican state Sen. Tony Guglielmo told The Courant he recently spoke to a constituent at a meeting in Ashford, who informed him that some of his friends with semi-automatic rifles are intentionally taking a stand.

“He made the analogy to prohibition,” the lawmaker recalled. “I said, ‘You’re talking about civil disobedience, and he said ‘Yes.’”

Guglielmo said he really thought the “vast majority would register.”

Other officials think the low registration numbers are due to ignorance on behalf of gun owners who aren’t aware of the new law. It’s impossible to know the main reason why gun owners aren’t showing up to register their guns without hearing from them directly, though Guglielmo’s constituent indicates at least some are practicing “civil disobedience.”

“Sorting out the number of potential new felons is a guessing game. State police have not added up the total number of people who registered the 50,000 firearms, Vance said. So even if we knew the number of illegal guns in the state, we’d have a hard time knowing how many owners they had,” the report concludes. » Full Article

Chicago Police Chief: We’ll Shoot Licensed Gun Owners

Kevin “Coach” Collins, The Western Center For Journalism — Under Chicago’s Police Chief Gary McCarthy and the hack that hired him, Chicago has quickly become Murder City USA. Last year by a substantial amount, more Americans died from gunfire in the Windy City than died in Afghanistan. The gunfire is coming from the violent street gangs that infect the streets of Chicago.

Since they have failed to solve the real problem of gunfire killing people in their streets, the current administration has invented a problem their media pals can fool the dupes that vote for them into thinking they are solving. Their invented problem is: what to do about “dangerous” people who are licensed gun owners?

Since their constituency of public housing dwellers doesn’t count when they complain, honest licensed gun owners who can put a spotlight on their failure to make the streets safe must be targeted and shut up. Last week McCarthy publicly warned licensed gun owners his officers would shoot them if they: “[turn] with a firearm in their hand” at the scene of a police involved incident.

Parroting the liberal lies about licensed gun owners always make things worse when they attempt to use their gun to defend themselves or others, McCarthy said: “I don’t care if they’re licensed legal firearms, people who are not highly trained… putting guns in their hands is a recipe for disaster. So I’ll train our officers that there is a concealed carry law, but when somebody turns with a firearm in their hand the officer does not have an obligation to wait to get shot to return fire and we’re going to have tragedies as a result of that. I’m telling you right up front.”

McCarthy and his boss must have realized that kissing up to street gangs to get them to stop shooting people doesn’t work. With no other options they are now threatening honest citizens licensed to possess and use firearms to save their own lives. Can confiscation be far off?

Ted Nugent: Obama's Gun-Control Plans 'Psychotic'

Says Disarming Americans Akin to 'Engineering Slaughters'

Drew Zahn, WND — Rock legend and gun-rights activist Ted Nugent took the Obama administration to task Sunday evening for pledging to make gun control a priority, telling a radio host the president’s plans are practically “psychotic.”

“A person who lives by logic and studies history and tries to implement the lessons learned by history cannot begin to rationally explain the conduct of this president or his attorney general or this administration,” Nugent said. “It is psychotic, it is crazy, it is illogical.”

Nugent was speaking to Aaron Klein of New York WABC Radio’s “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio.”

Nugent explained that many people have reacted in fear, backing schemes of gun control or even outright gun bans in the wake of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

But disarming American citizens, Nugent claims, is exactly the wrong approach.

“Obama’s dream already exists, and those are called gun-free zones, and that is where the most innocent lives are lost,” Nugent told Klein. “What kind of monster would want more of these? Because if you ask for more gun-free zones, if you further disarm innocent Americans, you are literally engineering slaughters.”

Nugent is a rock legend with over 40 million albums sold, a New York Times bestselling author and a board member of National Rifle Association.

Nugent claimed that when it comes to debating gun-control legislation, he has “logic and common sense and science and evidence and history” on his side.

But the administration’s choice to create a study panel on gun legislation with Joe Biden and Eric Holder?

“That’s like hiring [notorious child killer] Jeffrey Dahmer to tell us to how to take care of our children,” Nugent said.

He also claimed letters from members of the U.S. military show the men and women fighting and dying to protect the Second Amendment are likewise appalled at the administration’s attempts to restrict gun rights.

Nugent said they “are offended and absolutely insulted by the commander in chief and this move to de-soul the U.S. Constitution.”

“‘You speak for me,’ they tell me,” Nugent said. » Read More

House Identified on NY Paper’s ‘Gun Map’ Burglarized — And the Robbers Went Straight for the Guns

Erica Ritz, TheBlaze — After the Journal News published interactive maps detailing where gun owners live in a number of New York counties in late December, people all across the nation decried the move as an invasion of privacy and a danger to the families.

A number of ex-burglars told Fox News that the list would prove invaluable to criminals, telling them which houses to avoid or rob, depending on what they wanted.

It was revealed on Sunday that one of the homes identified by the paper was targeted by burglars over the weekend, though a connection to the Journal News has not been proven.

New York’s Westchester/Rockland Newsday has noteworthy details on the break-in (all subsequent emphasis added):

A White Plains residence pinpointed on a controversial handgun permit database was burglarized Saturday, and the burglars’ target was the homeowner’s gun safe.

At least two burglars broke into a home on Davis Avenue at 9:30 p.m. Saturday but were unsuccessful in an attempt to open the safe, which contained legally owned weapons, according to a law enforcement source. One suspect was taken into custody, the source said.

The gun owner was not home when the burglary occurred, the source said. The victim, who is in his 70s, told Newsday on Sunday that he did not want to comment while the police investigation continues.

[...]

Neighbor John Mascia said he thought the gun permit database should not have been published.

I could [not] care less what they have in their home,” Mascia said.

Police are investigating what role, if any, the database played in the burglars’ decision to target the home, the law enforcement source said.

Republican State Senator Greg Ball of New York released a strongly-worded statement on the matter Sunday, adding that he plans to introduce legislation to better protect the identities of gun owners in the future:
“The Journal News has placed the lives of these folks at risk by creating a virtual shopping list for criminals and nut jobs. If the connection is proven, this is further proof that these maps are not only an invasion of privacy but that they present a clear and present danger to law-abiding, private citizens. Former convicts have already testified to the usefulness of the asinine Journal News ‘gun maps’ yet the reckless editors are evidently willing to roll the dice, gambling with the lives of innocent local homeowners,” Senator Greg Ball said.

[...]

The same elitist eggheads who use their editorial page to coddle terrorists and criminals are now treating law abiding citizens like level three sexual predators. These bills are critical to keep folks safe and fundamentally protect their inherent right to privacy… This is not about the Second Amendment; these bills are simply about commonsense and personal privacy. Publishing this information on a website, as we have evidently just witnessed in the recent attempted gun burglary, provides criminals with a map of where they can steal firearms from lawful owners for later use in the commission of crimes. This legislation is critical,” said Senator Greg Ball.
Ball wasn’t the only one to call out the Journal News in the wake of the robbery. Senator Ball’s office adds:

In addition to Senator Ball’s legislation, the Vice President of the Affiliated Police Association of Westchester County, Robert Buckley, said in a letter [that] publishing these maps online is jeopardizing the safety of residents and is irresponsible.

“The Affiliated Police Association of Westchester County Inc. is putting The Journal News on notice that we will hold [them] accountable for any incident where any of our over 25,000 members are involved with an incident where a criminal or ex-con presents themselves at the residence of one of our members as a result of their name being made public by [their] newspaper,” said Buckley.

Fox News’ Judge Jeanine Pirro ripped into the Journal News over the weekend, noting that the “cowards” who publish the paper appear to be fiercely protective of their own privacy. » Read More
